Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 214 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complain about significantly delayed or completely missed deliveries, noting that drivers often leave notification cards without actually attempting to deliver packages at the door. Many individuals also state that items are frequently lost in transit, while customer support representatives prove completely unhelpful when trying to resolve these frustrating problems. Though some reviewers experienced severe problems, a few consumers found the local staff to be genuinely helpful and friendly during their visits. These individuals also mentioned receiving fast, reliable service and efficient deliveries from dedicated local drivers on certain positive occasions.

A truly awful experience

A truly awful experience. Enquiring to get a quote for collection and delivery of a parcel. 20 minutes on the phone to an (overseas) phone operator. Terribly slow process and then the final result was unsuccessful.
A shame that the service is not New Zealand based and creates major communication issues.
A real shame.

Impressively Incompetent

Ah yes, the premium “mystery delivery” service — where you wait over a week for a domestic item and enjoy the added thrill of tracking that apparently exists only in theory.

And of course, after battling your way through to customer service, you’re rewarded with someone who can’t help because the tracking details have vanished into thin air. What an impressively seamless experience.

Lazy

New Zealand post is so lazy they couldn't even bother to try deliver to my work after 1 look of the building.

NZ post terrible handling

Completely damaged parcel. Looks like someone stood on them. They had fragile tape and double boxed. Now won't take responsibility for them as it is 'glass' and they said it's not covered. Whatever was in this now squashed box would have been broken from their poor handling.

useless delivery no helpdesk

Our parcels are constantly delivered to the wrong address and the helpdesk does not seem to care. There is no response to online forms. Telephone helpdesk was answered by a sarcastic git who seemed to think the only problem was lost parcels. They eventually agreed to pass the issue on to "the team" who would contact me. Never happened of course. Trustpilot should have negative ratings.

The shittest service in NZ

The shittest service in NZ. On so many occasions they just fail. Their couriers lie saying they attempt to deliver and left the card. Never found any card and were sitting at home waiting for them. Every time need to go and pick it up by myself. Arranged redelivery of my mail from old address, paid for that service. Never got any redelivery mail even i knew it was sent. Ridiculously terrible service. The managers who supposed to deal with the complaints dont care and dont reach out.

I would give 0 stars if I could

I would give 0 stars if I could! I have sent an EXPRESS MAIL to Australia and paid accordingly! To find out a week later that it could not be delivered to the address provided. Instead of contacting me, despite my email address and phone number provided, they contacted the store I have been sending it from. By chance I walked back in there a couple of days later to find out about the situation. The person working there answered to the email they received. Now it's been 2 weeks ago and the mail is still in Auckland! Investigation has been put in place and it will probably take another week to progress, who knows. They say they can't proceed because I apparently didn't put a value on it. And then they said I shall contact dhl because it has been handed over to them. The guy from dhl told me they don't have it, despite the air waybill number provided. This is a joke NZ PoST!

Overnight delivery

Overnight delivery, still takes two full working days Wairarapa to Manawatu.
From communications with the NZ Post team, delivery driver made his own mind up not to deliver to address listed, and nil priority to get it delivered the following morning, as there was nil response from the regional branch in why it wasn’t delivered or in regards to our calls to help desk to urgent action the delivery (have our client waiting for vehicle repairs).
If I could give a zero star ⭐️ would be more preferred for there services.
Help desk was helpful, but again it seems to be the ball is in the regional branch (lack of communication and response) and delivery drivers hands… Thanks for screwing us in the middle NZ Post…

NZ Post Shop Lincoln Road in Henderson…

NZ Post Shop Lincoln Road in Henderson are stealing packages. NEVER GO HERE. We sent two packages. Important docs, passport/birth certificate and have never seen them again. Their reviews suggest this is a common occurrence with the worst reviews in the country. We approached them and NZ Post and will be launching into a full investigation into this shop so they don’t keep doing it to people, 1500 google reviews suggest we are far from the first this has happened too.

I wouldn't mind giving zero stars if there is one. My child's passport was sent from DIA. The driver brought it home on a Tuesday morning while we were all at work. I expect to pick it up at their collection center on the following. Unfortunately, NZ Post claimed they couldn't locate this passport after numerous calls over the past week.

Courier picked up my parcel early in…

Courier picked up my parcel early in the morning and then gave it a nice drive around town without actually ever attempting to deliver it. I'm glad that my item had a nice drive around the local area but I would have liked to actually have recieved it on time. Especially as I have been waiting for six weeks for it to arrive in the country. But I guess that the Postie had better things to do today.

Edit: My parcel was picked up the next day and once again, has spent over nine hours riding around town with no sign of delivery. I'll never use NZ Post again! Time and time again they prove themselves to be utterly USLESS!

Your 08 delivery driver is useless

The delivery driver drove upto the gate inserted the "note" saying the parcel could not be delivered then drove off. I paid $3.50 for delivery only for the driver to make no attempt to deliver the parcel, as i was inside. And we have cameras too. Then i had to go in to town and pick up the parcel. Then for nz post app to send me a notification saying my parcel has been delivered. Pathetic you guys deserve to have 150+ stores close down as your guys work ethic is terrible. Do better or make deliverys free especially if you cant do you job.

New process to send parcels overseas

Trying to send multiple documents and an expired UK passport to the UK. The new online customs declaration is not user friendly. It does not state that you have to invidually search for and add a specific code for each individual document as well as add a value and weight. How much is an expired UK passport worth anyone? as it does not accept $0! None of this was anywhere on the website and no instructions to guide you. It is worded like you are expected to know customs codes for documents and items sent and does not explain clearly what is required. Does not collapse the box competed for previous document so you can end up editing the wrong information. There is also no back or clear button so if you make a mistake on the type of item you are sending (because they don't provide useful examples) you have to exit the browser and start from scratch by returning to the counter and re-scanning the QR code, assuming you have this ability on your phone. Appalling customer service. When I was told I needed to enter a $ amount for an expired passport it was suggested to enter the amount it costs to get a UK passport, not the actual value of the passport you are sending. Is this then a false customs declaration? Come on NZ post you can do way better here. Took me 39mins to sort this and I am NOT computer illiterate. Where is the option to use a paper form since what I submitted was essentially printed and put with my parcel anyway. Clearly you dont care about your customers as you have a monopoly on postal services in NZ so we the consumers have no choice but to battle your overcomplicated systems and processes and pay a ridiculous amount at the end for the privilege. Very disappointing result from an essential service.

Shambles

Shambles loses parcels and don't seem to care, useless investigation team they never phone and just repeat the same thing and don't actually do what there saying to locate your parcel. At ALL cost please use a different delivery service. Parcels just disappear using this service.
