A victim of their own success
This is the third Nu-Heat system I have purchased in the last 20 years, so returning to a brand that I trust was a no-brainer. Unfortunately it seems that Nu-Heat have become a victim of their own success following acquisitions of competing companies and national growth in green(er) energy solutions. This time around I found Nu-Heat slow to respond, only sending generic 'workflow' generated e-mails, and they refused to let me speak to technical staff during the design process as they are 'not customer facing'. Previously I could speak to the actual designer and talk through the pro's and con's of positioning and components, but Nu-Heat (who used to pride themselves on customer service) was lacking this time around. A generic price from a sales person at the front end left us guessing as to what the design / equipment positioning might look like and whether it would fit with our renovation - the design could only progress once the deposit was paid. All design information had to pass via an inflexible, non-technical 'go-between' with confused messaging. I came perilously close to cancelling the order - it's only previous quality experience that kept me fighting. The delivered system looks different from previous iterations, but the last one was 12 years ago so you'd expect some improvements. Components generally look high quality, time will tell. I would have rated 3 stars but this is one of the most expensive ‘premium’ systems on the market and I expected more with that price tag.
