trains that go down or under maintenance seemingly every other week. What do you need to repair so often, and usually on the same lines lol. Delays are understandable but so often?

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking, how dare they claim to be one of the best train services int rh world. Constant delays, cancellations. When a train is delayed by 20 mins they just cancel it to avoid paying out refunds and of course “cancelling” a service doesn’t impact there overall performance for “on time arrivals”

This service use to be good, but now it’s borderline pathetic.

Indian railways

1) 25 euro per person to sit on the train floor is way too much
2) platform changed 3 times for no damn reason
3) due to one train late transfer is not possible anymore and ns app is just one big mess to find the next train on the go.
Generaly I'd give it 0 out of 5 but thats not possible. Don't use this trash everyone should get cars instead. More expensive but the one doesn't have to go play headless horse on the platrfoms or feel like in Indian railways with sitting on the floor.

Couple more years, we allow ppl board exterior - for 50euro per person.

A monopoly

A monopoly, doing what monopolies do. No flexibility, complete lack of compassion or empathy. Will not provide even a partial refund, even though the police have agreed there was more than 500 euros of fraudulent charges made using my NS card.

Thank you very much for the bike fine

I usually always buy a bike ticket when taking my bicycle on NS trains. This time, during off-peak hours, I made an honest mistake and forgot to buy the bike ticket even though I had paid for my own train ticket as usual. As someone who chooses cycling to be environmentally friendly, I was disappointed by how the conductor handled the situation. I was happy to pay the bike ticket on the spot, but he showed no empathy and instead issued a €30 fine immediately. I explained that I am a regular customer who normally follows the rules, but it made no difference. I find this approach unnecessarily harsh and disappointing for a company that claims to value its customers.

Apparently, Buying a Ticket Doesn't Mean You Can Travel!

I bought co-travel tickets using the NS app while visiting the Netherlands, trusting the system would work. Mistake.
The app happily sold me tickets for a 17:00 train from Delft to Eindhoven, but when I got to the station, the gates refused to let me through. Apparently, co-travel tickets aren't valid during peak hours — something the app forgot to mention when happily taking my money.
When I asked for help, customer service shrugged it off with a "no refunds" policy and suggested I use the ticket later in the day... because I had an international flight back to the UK, I couldn't use the tickets.
I ended up buying another full-price ticket just to get home. So basically, NS sold me a product I couldn't use, refused to refund it, and offered no real solution.
If you enjoy being charged for unusable services and receiving world-class indifference, then NS is the company for you. Otherwise, good luck — you'll need it.

This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star

This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. I need to write this because these people really believe they can change whatever the hell they want, its over its the most disgusting, overpriced and dirties company from the start of time. NS nl is the worst thing ever created, you should be ashamed to even work there! Where can I even start? The trains are dirty as hell, the times and schedules THE WORST, the people act like they work for the king. I would actually love to pay your overpriced shitty train if it actually went somewhere on time, if it was clean and many other things. It does not even worth 1 euro!
I would go to India and it would feel the same as the NS train tbh.
You need to chill and get the head out of your ass.
Thanks bye

I’m deeply disappointed

I’m deeply disappointed.

I’ve been using this train service for a year now, paying a monthly subscription, and today my colleague and I had an awful experience. As the train was about to close its doors, my colleague was already at the door, and I was right behind her. Instead of handling the situation properly, she was pushed and forced out because the train was about to leave.

This is absolutely unacceptable behavior towards paying customers. Safety and respect should be a priority, but today we were treated with nothing but rudeness.

I'm completely disappointed with the NS…

I'm completely disappointed with the NS trains and their service and I've never experienced such level of unprofessionalism.

I have their OV-chipcard and I'm paying € 36.95 monthly for their NS Flex Weekend Vrij option. Before I've chosen this option, I went to their office at the Amsterdam Centraal Station and I asked their employee all the details about the travel. I asked her does that option really mean that I can travel unlimited on Fridays from 6:30 pm until Monday 4:00 am. She assured me that's correct and because she didn't emphasise that unlimited free option counts just for their trains, I logically assumed that means free travel on their buses, trams and metros as well, especially because the same OV physical chipcard is used to pay for their buses, trams and metros, it's not just for the trains and that's why in the last 4 weeks I used these forms of travel as well.

Meanwhile, I just received a bill of 101 euros for the travel expenses and I was in shock because I was told that everything is included. Even when I would use the tram, I would double check with their employees who sit inside of the glass box in the middle of the tram if everything is alright with my OV chipcard because I was confused why is it, when I would check in the tram, on the little machine written that my saldo is 0 euros, but also in the row below -4 euros at the same time? I would explain to their employee my situation that I have the Weekend Vrij option and is everything still free or is there something wrong and they would always tell me that everything is alright. Those were the other times when I received misinformation from their employees.

Furthermore, yesterday I went to their office at the Amsterdam Central Station to complain and one of the employees there told me that the duty of the lady I asked about the details of the Weekend free option in the first place was to emphasis the fact that this Weekend free option does not include other forms of public transport, just the NS trains. Unfortunately, I didn't get that information and because of a major lapse from their employee, I have to pay 101 euros.

When I tried to explain the situation to their customer service, they just denied their responsibility and said that I could have done an additional research about that option because they're "transparent"with the information, but where is then the credibility of their employees if I need to double check everything what they say?? What's their role then if I cannot assume that the things that I asked someone who is paid to be in the service of the NS aren't necessary true so my responsibility is to double check them??

If the public transport in the Netherlands wasn't as expensive as it is, then I would somehow get over it, but paying over 100 euros for using public transport just for 8 days in the whole past month (and excluding the train tickets!) is just crazy.

If you're already charging so much for the public transport, then at least hire competent employees.

poor planning and lack of consideration for passengers' comfort and safety

I am extremely disappointed with NS trains. As a daily commuter, I have encountered numerous issues that make traveling with NS an absolute nightmare.

Firstly, sending shorter trains during peak hours is completely unacceptable. I choose to wake up early in order to take the train at 5am so that I can just sit, and guess what, the trains before peak hours are longer. The new trains are horribly designed with no tables to work on, and no handles making it impossible to stand and hold onto anything. There are fewer seats, and the shorter trains exacerbate the problem. By the couch area, there is nothing to hold onto to prevent falling. I've even witnessed people fighting because they didnt want to go through to stand in the empty area.

Secondly, during peak hours, some trains are so overcrowded that people can't even fit inside. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention.

Today an "extra short" train was sent during peak hour, and there was a technical problem. They shut down the engine, and there was absolutely no air circulation. The train was extremely packed, and in the new trains, the windows don't open. It was suffocating.

NS trains have proven to be a careless company with their poor planning and lack of consideration for passengers' comfort and safety.

Late, delay and cancellation

Always late, delayed or cancel, even on the week end, yet they still keep increasing prices and control you on strike or when late, this company is even worst than French ones.
