Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that your experience of purchasing from us was less than ideal.
There are a few points made in your review that we would like to clarify, as we do not believe that your points accurately reflect the complete situation:
• We state in a number of places on our website that all of our monitors are returns to Dell, including on our home page and on a large “refurbished” banner across the middle of each listing. If a customer manages to complete their purchase without seeing these notifications then we are truly sorry, as it is never our intention to deceive customers in any way
• Contrary to what you have written, we specifically offered to collect the monitor at our expense if you chose to return it for a refund (we have the transcript of our online chat available if you do not remember this)
• The only reason we did not immediately collect the monitor was that you mentioned a partial refund for the damage may be acceptable (the damage was cosmetic only and the monitor was fully functional), so we paused the conversation while we considered the amount of partial refund that we could offer
• Before we could present our partial refund offer, you raised a formal PayPal case despite already being in contact with us. Once a formal PayPal case is raised, both the buyer and the seller have to follow PayPal’s strict process, and one key part of PayPal’s process is that the BUYER is responsible for return shipping costs in all cases. This is the only reason why you had to pay for your own shipping, as we will always cover return shipping for damaged or faulty items when contacted directly
• Although you are technically correct in saying that there were five weeks (37 days to be precise) between when you raised the PayPal case and when your refund was processed, this delay was not caused by our actions as your comments seem to imply. 20 of the 37 days were spent waiting for PayPal to make a decision and 15 of the remaining 17 days were taken up with your actions (rejecting our partial refund offer and shipping the monitor back to us). The parts that we had direct control over, including the processing of your refund, took less than 48 hours (all numbers confirmed to us by PayPal themselves – further detail can be provided if required)
• Finally, the only reason why your initial review was reported to Trustpilot is because it contained profanity. Even though you had “self-censored” by replacing certain letters with asterisks, it was still obvious which words you were using and so we were duty-bound to report it. This would have been the case even if you had left glowing 5-star feedback
