Norwegian caused a 11 hour and 29 minute delay on my flight and refuses to pay UK261 compensation, claiming “extraordinary circumstances” because their crew got sick. This is a blatant excuse to avo... See more

Two hours delay on short-haul flight
Nearly two hours delay on Norwegian flight from Stavanger to Manchester.
Result I got home at 00:30 instead of 22:15, have had much less sleep than I need and feel terrible today, and not able to offer my employer my best.
I will never use Norwegian again. Aside from my irritation about the delay I get the distinct impression that this company just don't care......
Like everyone els
Like everyone els, absolutely nightmare of an airline, ground staff lied to my mom about the flight from svaldbard would go all the way to Copenhagen, twice it was confirmed, misleading lying people, how you are allowed to work at all is insane, we lost trust in humans.. trip thay was 7 hours is not on its 25 hour and we are still not home, good luck if you booked with them you are in for a ride
I lost my next two flights because of…
I lost my next two flights because of their delay ..they squeezed us in plane for two hours !
Very Disappointing Experience
I had a very disappointing experience with Norwegian Air Shuttle. The service was extremely poor and the customer support was unhelpful and unfriendly. There was a clear lack of professionalism and communication throughout the process.
I would not recommend this airline based on my experience.
Harassed by Norwegian Air OSL customer service employee
As a Norwegian Reward Priority customer I was harassed by a female employee on 13/02 6:05 at Oslo Airport of foreign decent when asking the airline to give me the reward benefits I am entitled to on a flight. Unfortunately, she has shown similar behaviour two times before and honestly shocked by the fact that any airline can have such people in client facing roles. The airline is marketing benefits you will not receive, non-existent loyalty program. Go with SAS instead.
Unproffesional
The handling of this situation was very unprofessional. The delay lasted several days and was clearly caused by the company, yet they refused to take responsibility for the additional costs incurred, including the train tickets that had to be purchased. This level of service and accountability is unacceptable.
Corrupt country
Very disappointing experience at Hurghada Airport.
At check-in, a Norwegian Airlines employee gave us a paper and said it was mandatory. He helped us fill it out, then suddenly charged €5 per person, without telling us beforehand.
This felt misleading and unprofessional, especially coming from an official Norwegian staff member. We felt pressured right before boarding.
Norwegian Airlines should take this seriously.
DAMAGED LUGGAGE beyond repair!
DAMAGED LUGGAGE beyond repair!
I used them to travel with my guitar to Norway. FIRST flight they damaged my case and the locking system beyond repair. Even with FRAGILE stickers ALL OVER it. Made a claim for the case and they have offered almost HALF what i paid for it! This will not even get a second hand version of the case. So now i will be out of pocket for something i had zero control over and their staff had ALL control over how they handled my luggage. Is this fair? No. I will not be using them again i would warn others of using them and their staff are not trained with dealing will luggage properly. Spend slightly more and go with another airline!
Terrible communication and items from luggage stolen!
If you can afford to fly with a more expensive airline, do it! Norwegian’s communication as a company is terrible. We ended up stuck due to snow which of course is unavoidable but the lack of communication or care by the staff was so rubbish which left hundreds of people completely unaware with what was happening. Worst thing on return, they lost my luggage and when it was returned to me, expensive items were missing and they have done nothing to fix or remedy this. I even had a padlock on the case which was untouched, proving it was airport stuff. So disappointing and incredibly unprofessional. Their lack of response also meant filing with my insurance or the police became infinitely harder as they took so long to reply. Don’t fly with them if you can help it.
Appalling handling of a cancelled flight – only paid after regulator intervention
Norwegian cancelled our flight back in September 2025 at short notice (we were sitting on the plane and after 1.5hrs they announced they're cancelling the flight) and the experience afterwards was honestly appalling.
They initially refused to reimburse any expenses despite EU261 clearly requiring airlines to cover re-routing, accommodation and meals in the event of a cancellation. The alternatives offered were completely unreasonable (including travelling via another country or waiting days), leaving us no choice but to book replacement flights, hotel and food ourselves.
Customer service was dismissive and rude, repeatedly copying generic legal text and telling us they were “unable to change their decision”, even when presented with receipts and clear legal obligations. At one point it genuinely felt like they were just trying to make us give up.
Only after escalating the case to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) did Norwegian suddenly change their position. Following regulatory intervention, they were forced to admit liability and reimburse the flight difference and care expenses. Without the regulator stepping in, they clearly had no intention of paying what they legally owed.
This was a stressful, time-consuming process that could have been avoided if Norwegian had acted in good faith from the start.
Outcome: reimbursed only after regulator involvement
Experience: poor communication, refusal to comply, rude tone
Verdict: avoid if you value fair treatment when things go wrong
Horrible company
Horrible company. Have had issues with them 3 times in the past couple of years. Delayes happen more often than not and compensation is always denied, despite sending out text messages, saying 'sorry, your flight has been delayed, you are entitled to food and drinks while you wait (non alcohol (fair enough))'. But whenyou send in your invoice for the meal, they deny.
Damaged suitcase, 0 responsibility taken
I went to Oslo for work in November and they broke my new and expensive suitcase by ripping off a wheel, which also broke the plastic. I followed all the right steps to complain and escalate this matter, and was met with nothing but ‘computer says no’. Appalling customer service with no ownership taken into account. Disgusting service and would seriously not recommend if you need more than hand luggage.
What is wrong with you?!?!?!
What is wrong with you?!?!?!?
For the fifth time today you're changing my flight to Stavanger!!!
Gets delayed more and more.
So frustrating!!
You change it to 5pm
Then 4:45pm then 5:15pm etc...
What is wrong with you?!?!??
Worst service ever!!!!
Long delay, zero accountability
I recently traveled to Oslo for work with Norwegian. On my way home, my flight was delayed by 5.5 hours, with the departure time being pushed back one hour at a time. I wasn’t aware of my passenger rights or what costs could potentially be covered, so I stayed at the airport – I just wanted to get home to my family.
After two months of reviewing my case, Norwegian informed me that no refund would be issued because I took the flight. They also refused to cover the cab ride I had to take to get home at 2 AM. The only reimbursement offered was 85 NOK for food.
This process has been a complete waste of time, and I will not be flying Norwegian again anytime soon.
NO TO FLYING NORWEGIAN EVER AGAIN.
My husband took two Norwegian flights within 3 months of each other and couldn’t believe an airline could be this bad.
One flight was Bergen to Gatwick - poor check in, rude staff and a 20 minute wait to board turned into a 45 minute delay.
The air stewardesses were not interested one bit in the passengers apart from one who more or less chatted to a passenger she knew for pretty much half of the journey and glared at the other passengers.
The flight from Oslo to Gatwick was again delayed. We had speedy boarding and this was like a rugby scrum to get to the priority queue, no help from the ground staff We then waited 30 minutes next to the plane for the crew to arrive!
The crew were again surly, maybe an ingrained Norwegian Airline trait?
The stewardesses weren’t interested in serving passengers, just talking amongst themselves.
The plane was dirty and therefore hadn’t properly been prepared at Oslo.
We arrived an hour late into Gatwick with no apology.
Wise enough not to repeat the experience for a third time as we won’t be flying with Norwegian ever again.
Utter garbage
Utter garbage. Arrived late, baggage left behind. Longest queue ever to report it at baggage service and the so-called MyBag solution was completely non-functional.
Wildly unprofessional staff from…
Wildly unprofessional staff from beginning to end. Flight to Oslo saw the hosts sitting on their phones the whole way, never once walking the aisles or checking on anyone.
Gate agents rude when flight was cancelled and literally said to just go book another airline
Fabulous service and lovely crew
Fabulous service and lovely crew. Not sure what airline all these negative reviews relate to.
JustNorwegian Air are awful! arrived in Tromso from Manchester…
Just arrived in Tromso from Manchester and my checked in luggage along with 20 other passengers didn’t arrive. I’m told it could come on the next flight out to Oslo as they partner with other airlines to bring out passenger luggage. This wasn’t a cheap flight and I’d paid for 23kg for myself and my husband. My husbands case arrived but not mine. They have a system set up because this happens regularly I was told at the baggage claim desk. I would not recommend Norwegian air nor Norway just now they’re like a third world country and airline NOT EQUIPPED FOR THE AMOUNT of travellers passing through.Tromso.
Misleading value of CashPoints – “free” flights cost more than competitors
I’ve built up around £650 worth of Norwegian CashPoints, expecting them to meaningfully reduce the cost of flights. In reality, even when using a large number of points, I’m still required to pay substantial “taxes and surcharges” in cash.
What’s frustrating is that these taxes and surcharges can be more expensive than buying an outright ticket with another airline. I’ve found EasyJet flights on the same routes that are cheaper in total than Norwegian’s taxes alone on a CashPoints booking.
Norwegian markets CashPoints as being “like cash”, but that isn’t an accurate reflection of how they work. They only cover the fare portion, while a significant part of the ticket price remains payable — including carrier-imposed surcharges, not just government taxes.
This makes CashPoints poor value on many short-haul routes and feels misleading unless you read the small print very carefully. Customers should be clearly warned that using points does not mean a low-cost or free flight.
