Declined my LitterRobot order without asking verification
I ordered a Litter Robot 4 from the official Litter Robot website (Nearly 800 dollars) without issue. My order was confirmed and processed and the charge was placed on my card, which by the way, had a $0 balance at the time of order placement. The very next day (July 26), I received a single e-mail from NoFraud with the title "NoFraud - Processor Declined".
I reached out to Whisker on the 28th about why my order was canceled and they stated NoFraud was supposed to send me an e-mail to verify my identity. They stated my order may have been declined if I did not respond to the e-mail. I did not receive any such e-mail before my order was declined.
At this point, my order was canceled and closed on my Litter Robot account and my transaction was already refunded to my bank. I reached out to NoFraud because I was interested in recreating my order with Litter Robot using the same payment method. My inquiry was focused on figuring out what went wrong and why my transaction was declined.
After reaching out to my bank and confirming there were no issues with my card, I contacted NoFraud about this issue. I communicated through e-mail with an extremely rude agent named Taylor Johnson. All I was asking for was reasoning as to why my order was declined without notice or communication.
Taylor Johnson's reply to my inquiry was and I quote "We have carefully reviewed all the information submitted to us and determined we are unable to approve the order. For further information regarding the status of your order, please reach out to the customer service team of the respective merchant directly". She immediately closed the ticket. I replied asking for a more detailed analysis of the problem, in which she replied and I quote, "For security purposes, we are unable to disclose any reasoning behind our decision. At this time the investigation is closed on our end and no further action can be taken on our end".
I was upset with her reply because I felt the only security risk at play was my own security. I felt as if decisions were made regarding transactions using my information and my money without my knowledge. I was also confused because I had no idea who NoFraud even was or that I needed to communicate with them at all to confirm my order before they sent me their cancellation e-mail.
I responded with a strongly-worded e-mail and received a new reply from someone who did not sign their response as "Taylor", as well as a shiny new e-mail to finally verify my identity. I took this e-mail as an admission of guilt that the e-mail was never sent to me.
Of course, there was no point to verify my identity for an order that was completely canceled and canned. The company did not ever admit they canceled an order without valid means, but I took the late verification e-mail as an admission of guilt.
Who would want to do business with a company who can not even send out timely e-mails, has awful customer service that blames the customer, and tries to resolve the issue sat a time point where the issue can not longer be solved? I believe this is also unfortunate, as it may have even scared off a potential sale (of nearly 800 dollars) if I did not have means to alternative purchasing methods.
As I had no issues with the Litter Robot company, I gladly re-ordered through ANY method that allowed me to avoid the NoFraud company. I do not have any trust in them.
