It pays to keep trying

I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad duet which malfunctioned within two years, out of warranty deemed unrepairable. I researched Customer Guarantee Act, followed advice to contact the company again, requested me to visit my local store and have product assessed. Great results. Awarded refund, awesome contact through process. Well pleased. Shout out to Lenovo also as they assessed my case .

Noel Leeming NELSON: Terrible experience

Bought a product for $460 from Noel Leeming NELSON and it was dead upon opening.
Wouldn't turn on or charge at all, so returned it the next day, only to be told by a female staff member that they have to send it away to be assessed "to cover themselves and make sure we didnt take it home and submerge it in water".
She told us we were not allowed a refund or a replacement and had to wait for it be tested and she didnt know how long it would be, but guessed 5-10 business days.
It was over 3 weeks later when we got a replacement product, as the original was defective at no fault of our own.
Terrible customer service and blamed us for intentionally breaking a brand new product.
We have spent 10s of thousands of dollars in the past few years at Noel Leeming Nelson kitting out our work offices, home office and home, and after this last experience we WONT be shopping there again.
Thankfully a new shop has opened up which price matches as well so we will be taking our business elsewhere.

I bought air fryer from Noel leeming…

I bought air fryer from Noel leeming Moorhouse store in chch but no stock so I have to pick up at Rolleston store. The staff said I just bring the receipt to go to rolleston for collection and not long afterwards I got text message yesterday to collect the air fryer I have paid. Today after lunch time, I went to the rolleston store but the staff there asked me to show my ID with photo. I said I don’t bring any Photo ID as I don’t drive so I don’t have driving license to show. I said I have this original receipt and the text on my cellphone to proof. He said the text on my phone could be just made ( not true) and I might have collected the receipt from somewhere.. I felt very insulted by his words and I was upset.. Finally he opened his computer and asked me my home address and phone number which has been in the system to prove that I was the person who bought the stuff. He could actually did this I instead of insulting me at the first place. Even at last he said sorry to me and handed the stuff to me , I still feel been very insulted by him…. I hope the manager of Noel Leeming Rolleston read this complaint..

Lyall Bay - worst store ever.

Wins the title for worst store I’ve ever been to (and, coming from the UK, that’s saying something!) Went in a few weeks ago to buy an iPhone, but they didn’t have one on display so would only show me the sealed box and tell me about it. Yup - I’m definitely going to give you $1000 when you can’t even be bothered to demonstrate it to me. Then, last week, we went to return an unopened steam cooker (unwanted present). The manager was adamant that because it was outside the 14 day returns window, he wouldn’t even give a credit note, let alone a refund. What kind of store only gives a 14 day return period?? I know places that give 60 or even 90 days. I pointed out that this would definitely result in us never buying anything from NL ever again. But the manager stuck to his principles. Good man!

Jenn is a star

My MacAir died after 10 years and having to buy something else was difficult. Fortunately there was a sale on and with Jenn's help at the Hamiton store, I selected the best one for me.( It turned out to be the cheapest one.)
Migrating my data should've been easy, but it wasn't. Jenn's guidance and tech savvy saved hours of angst as my creative, not logical brain doesn't do well with this. She went the extra 100 miles and I am very happy with the quality of purchase, price and support from her. Thank you

Sold a broken computer, then refused to replace

Noel Leeming sold me a computer with a faulty systemboard. It literally didn’t work out of the box. They claim a faulty systemboard on a NEW computer is a “minor fault,” and will only repair, not replace. Then they sent it for repair and returned it STILL broken. Even then, they would not replace.

So: if you want to risk buying a new product and never getting to enjoy a product that works like new, shop here. If you want a company who will do everything they can to bend consumer law until it breaks bc they know they hold the power rather than the consumer, shop here.

Absolutely abysmal service and difficult at every turn. So disappointing.

Extremely disappointed with Noel Leeming

I am extremely disappointed with Noel Leeming's inflexible policy on gift certificates.

Recently, I tried to use a gift certificate that had expired, unbeknown to me. The lack of a date of purchase on the voucher was an oversight on the seller's part - if I had known the purchase date, I would have noted the expiry date and used the card before that date.

The gift certificate was for a significant amount, and I was looking forward to using it to buy a heater. Unfortunately, Noel Leeming refused to budge, citing their strict policy on expired gift certificates, even though they had already been paid the money and the PIN number had not been scratched. In contrast, Poppy's book shop and Harvey Norman have accepted expired gift certificates from me before because the PIN numbers were undisturbed on their gift cards, demonstrating a more customer-centric approach.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect retailers to have a more flexible approach to handling expired unused gift certificates as they have already been paid for and unscratched PIN numbers clearly indicate they haven't been used. Noel Leeming's rigid stance has lost them a customer - I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future

Disappointed

Noel Leeming, Supa Center, Manukau
Invoice #157174808
Purchase Date: 04/06/24

I called on 06/04/24 to ask my delivery for the washing machine I purchased, the guy who assisted us made sure that my washing machine be delivered on Thursday 06/04/24 as early as possible because we have work at 10 am. I had been waited for 3 hours that day, did not even go to work. I called twice, the Lady who answered me was like a tape recorder “they will call you when they come out, they will call you when they come out” that’s the only answer she gave to me. I called again after 1 hour, and a different lady answered me that the delivery date was moved to the 11th of June, 😳 that’s a wasted time, waiting for nothing. Why they could not entertain the customer properly? And why they don’t let the customer know in the first place that the delivery date was moved? I have a Cleaning Business and I need that washing machine.
Very disappointed.

Took my phone for repairs as one of the internal components was shaking causing a rattling noise. Noel Leeming insisted it was normal. They lack common sense and are hard to talk to. If you're buying an expensive item, avoid this store because they don't care and the warranty is only for the show.

I rang them to ask for the information of the fraud, they refused to give me details. Police report has been filled. Shame on you for not helping!!

St Lukes Store Poor Management

Buyer Beware!

I recently visited Noel Leeming to purchase a laptop for my wife, and the experience was a complete nightmare. The first unit was faulty right out of the box. When we returned it the very next day, they refused to issue a refund and only offered a replacement. We reluctantly agreed to take the replacement on the condition that we could test it in-store.

This led to a frustrating three-hour ordeal with their “tech team.” Parth, one of the tech staff, was incredibly helpful and did his best to assist us. However, his manager, Matt (a ginger guy with a beard), was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. Despite Parth clearly needing assistance, Matt walked away and left him to handle everything alone. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who have to work under such poor management.

After three hours of this fiasco, we were completely fed up and demanded a refund. Matt refused to let us leave until they confirmed the fault, even though Parth had already identified that the second unit had the same issue. Matt then tried to push us to accept store credit, citing store policy. Newsflash, Matty : your store policy doesn’t override the Consumer Guarantees Act.

In the end, we did get our refund, but the experience was so dreadful that we will never return to this Noel Leeming store. Save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere

Disgusting after service. Eager to sell the product, but once you leave the shop they don't want to know you. Don't answer the phone!! Don't get back to you. Whakatane store needs a big wake up call.

I went to my local Noel Leemings Lynn mall store…

I went to my local Noel Leemings store at lynn mall to see a tech person as I had purchase a Fitbit sense 2 and could not get the ECG working. There was an elderly lady trying to get her laptop repair, and the tech person looked stress. The tech person asked why I was there and I told him. His reaction was pretty abrupt although he said I would have to wait till he was finished, which I had no issues with. When the elderly lady had left. I sit down on the stall and the tech person said what is my problem in a aggressive Manor, and I tried to explained and his tech advice was to go online to the fitbit help support to solve the issue. My response was not aggressive, I simply said I brought this three days earlier and I said, I don't believe that this is my responsibility as it was still under warranty. To my surprise he raised his voice and said don't you yell at me or I will call the manager, I didn't even raise my voice but the manager was summoned by hand gestures. The tech person was absolutely aggressive. When the manager arrived the tech person was quiet and basically didn't speak just matted somthing and disappeared in his own thoughts. I was speaking with the manager as he was trying to be helpful, but honestly he was Clueless and gave me a whole lot of pointless information and said, if it didn't work I could come back in, that wasn't a surprised so I went home. I finally got it working when I reset my phone and went through the start set up again, I must have missed a step. I did not mention the tech person aggressive demeanor, as I will be lodging a complaint with Noel Leemings customer service although I totally understand we are all human and have bad days, but the tech person demeanor was unacceptable and really tarnishes Noel Leemings reputation as I have been a loyal customer for many years and I don't believe any other customer would tolerate that behaviour. What ever happened to good old fashion customer service! Disappointing.👎
