Avoid, wont refund if part is faulty :(

Avoid buying any expensive parts from these guys. Recently I needed a 12v Auxiliary battery for my car so I phoned Nirro and was told £240 for a used one or I could get a brand new genuine for £311. Audi sells the battery for £885 so I thought this is a great price and ordered the "brand new" battery. When asked the reason for the low price, was told the battery is old stock hence why the low price and will be sent to me in the manufactures original packaging.

When we fitted the battery, it didn't work properly and turned out its actually faulty. The battery was coded as well and the exact error thrown is below.
P0DAC00 - Hybrid/EV Battery Cell Balancing Circuit "A"

Took the car to several mechanics who all advised the battery is faulty. So I phoned nirro several times asking for a refund. At first they asked me to find out how the battery was fitted. Then when I gave them this info, they said will call back. Got a call saying oh you've fitted it incorrectly and that you should have charged it first before fitting (never mentioned this when ordering) and that my mechanic is "uneducated". I explained the battery cells are out of balance and its not able to rebalance itself since its been sitting on the shelf for many years. The manufactures packaging in which the battery was sent to me is dated July 2019 so almost 7 years old. Nirro refused to admit the battery is faulty and they won't take it back so just a complete waste of £311 and time.

I then booked the car with Audi and the Master technician at Audi Cheshire oaks also said the battery is faulty, its throwing an internal error and needs replacing. When I explained to him the procedure followed to install Nirros battery, he said this is perfectly fine and the idea that I need to charge it before fitting is nonsense. He said these battery's come charged and whoever is storing them is responsible for regular maintenance so the battery doesn't completely die out. It's clear the battery is faulty and they didn't even test it before sending it out. Avoid buying anything expensive since if its faulty, these guys will put the blame on you, your mechanic and fitting procedure. They won't take any responsibility. They will ask for how you fitted the part then say will call back later and when they do, will come up with strange nonsensical flaws in the procedure and deny the part is faulty.

In the end I had to order the battery from Audi for £885 and when it arrived, the exact same fitting procedure used for nirros battery was also used to fit this one and the battery worked perfectly fine, all errors went away.

Please don’t buy from Nirro.

Hi,
I will not recommend Nirro.
They are useless.
I bought an Audi q3 door lock(actuator). I was told it’s the right unit for the car and matched the part number too.
But before paying, I asked ‘what if it doesn’t fit’?
The sales guy said, ‘bring it back and will refund’
The unit in my car has 9-pins and the unit that Nirro sold had only 8-pins. That’s the reason I requested for a refund.

Sadly Nirro refusing a refund.

This is very poor customer service and trading policy.
I will never use Nirro again. Please don’t get caught to crooks like Nirro.
Thanks

Cowboys

I will do an in depth review of the works that this company carried out on my son’s Audi A1. But this is just a quick note to warn ANYBODY to steer, literally, clear of this company. They should not be fixing or driving cars, but maybe horses would be a better trade for them, because they are cowboys!! Full review to come, with pictures and videos.

A so called friend sent me to them to pick up a space saver wheel bc I didn't have one. Now the irony is they are both garages or whatever professional people providing a service. But unbelievabley none of them knew that it doesn't fit my car. One cowboy has closed down loll. And I called nirro after it didn't fit when I had emergency. about 4 years of driving around with it and they don't have the right fit. Il be going back with the receipt bc it's been few years so they might refuse to take back let's see

Never buy again

Last year, I bought an alternator for my VW Passat, had it installed by my mechanic, but it turned out to be faulty. When I tried to return it, they claimed they only exchanged it. I replaced it with a second alternator, which also faulty again. As a last resort, I bought a new one and paid for all the installation costs. When I went back to return the faulty part, they insisted on the same exchange policy and issued a credit receipt valid for one year. This year, when I tried to use the credit receipt for three suspension parts priced at £90, they charged me £110. The purchased parts didn't fit my car, and upon realizing that the receipt stated a 7-day return policy instead of the 14 days mentioned in their terms and conditions, they refused the return or exchange due to the elapsed time. I couldn't get any satisfaction from the money I spent on this company, adding travel expenses and additional mechanic costs. I strongly advise against dealing with them and recommend staying away.
