NewBlueFX - Titler Pro 7. Prepare to be underwhelmed

Following an update of Titler Pro 7, I experienced a problem within my host software Magix 22 - formerly Sony Vegas.
Now I like Magix and NewBlue is a third party addin which was offered free. There are various types of addin and I think Transitions is rather good to be honest. Titler is very poor, but it’s free… what can one expect?
So, back to Titler Pro 7 - following the update is wouldn’t work. Emailed them as Chat wasn’t enabled. Eventually tracked down the problem, I had two of them installed on my system. One the serial had expired, the other the serial was for a purchased package not a freely offered package (with Magix). Daniel was superb, knowledgeable and k ew his product. Sorted it out very quickly by asking me to delete the updated version for my product and I had to reinstall an older Magix 19 version.
Not a great deal of difference to be frank. But the product - Titler itself it woefully poor. I think I’ve used it a handful of times in 10 years or more. The software is slow and glitchy, the effects are simple and slightly entertaining, nothing is ‘good’ more so’ - interesting. If you want impressive, there are far better products out there. Would I buy Titler? No. It’s just not refined, productive and simply can’t produce Wow-work. Sorry!
Having said all that my experience of their service is exceptional..

Honest Personal Review of Titler Pro 7

Personal experience of using Titler Pro 7 to create from scratch a 'Title' template.

I found the whole experience very disappointing and unprofessional. The holes in the GUI which make even the basic operations hard work make this for me a poorly written product in very bad need or a redesign and rewrite. Even a simple object like importing an image and rescaling it to fit within the window is painful - developer: have you tried importing an image that is larger than the view and then rescale? A Very primitive zoom ability which fails to recognise an object may be bigger than the template design window results in a painful process of shrink a little bit then reposition then shrink a bit more and repeat until you get the item to be completely within the window. You can 'lose' it off the view and then how do 'scroll' to see what's outside your window???

Then let's talk about the lag and stutter when trying to do simple operations like move an object/layer forward or back. Generally the application is unresponive and sluggish. Is the help/manual any good? No. There is no 'manual' and all there is are some roughly put together 'videos' for tutoring - which is always a sign of laziness by the manufacturer because no real effort is spent on documentation. That is in itself a give away about how the product is viewed by those who create, 'maintain' and sell a software application. As regards price - very very overpriced for what it 'does'.

Powerpoint is easier to use and can produce better quality clips which can then be imported. The only feature of use is that it can be accessed within your video editor, but to be honest it's not much of bonus. Marketing tactics present it as something special but this is hollow and hype. Glad I didn't bother with the TotalFX which really was less impressive than Titler Pro 7 on it's own and far far more expensive for very little content.

Will I be using it much - not really as frankly other tools do a better job and have a higher quality of software engineering (and I am speaking as a professional software engineer). Very disppointing experience and put simply I would never recommend until some serious effort is put into writing a quality software application to replace what exists now.

An app in an app

This is an app in an app. This means I have to open the NewBlueFX app in the effects category in Wondershare Filmora Pro to use the Title Pro 7. I couldn't even move the text in Filmora, because I had to use the app to move the position of the text which cannot be done easily with the dragging-with-the-mouse method. Rather, I had to do it by inputting the number values on X and Y to move the text and God knows when I will be able to place the text on the playback screen precisely.

Contacted support to help install…

Contacted support to help install Titler Live 4 on my new Mac. They never responded for over a week. I tried each day until I got an email that was pretty much useless. They do not seem to know Mac or how to help with any issues related to their installer or Mac OS. Never again will I get a plug in from them. Not a good product at all.

Please look other plugins before you decide whether it will work and give you pace of mind.

NewBlue TotalFX 7 Suite – Perpetual license on November 2022 and never had a chance to use it till a few weeks ago. First issue was whenever I opened Final Cut Pro, I got a warning message with list of plugins which need to update by developers. When I look all of NewBlueFX plugins are RED icon.

I contacted to NewBlueFX about that and got reply its been a long time they are not supporting Final Cut Pro.
If that is the case why are they messing up my Final Cut Pro Library with those useless RED icons.

I contacted them again to get some help to remove all those plugins just from Final Cut Pro. The replied was I need to uninstall the whole package. LOL. I have no chance to use this plugin with other editors like Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro.

I was mad and contacted them again to make sure it is the only solution. In the mean time, found a way to remove just from Final Cut Pro.

Before I do that , I tried the NewBlueFX plugins with in Davinci Resolve Studio and Premiere Pro. The result is both of the application CRASHED.

Well in the end I need to uninstall NewBlueFX from my computer by using NewBlueFX Uninstaller which come with the installer. When I open the NewBlueFX uninstaller, got the message the uninstaller is corrupt and need to moved to BIN. LOL

WOW. now there is no way to remove NewBlueFX from your Mac, base on my experience. I am now regret that I have wasted my money for OLD plugin. I am not sure about Apple Silicon version because I only have Intel Mac.

The support has no knowledge of Mac, in my case. My advice is please think a couple of months before you buy NewBlueFX Plugins.

Support doesn't care

Titler Pro 7 not working with Vegas Pro 20. I have been in contact with NewBlueFX support several times during the last 4 months. No solution. For me it seems that NewBlueFx doesn't really care, and not even trying to fix the problem. (Can see that other people here are experiencing same kind of problems)

Titler Pro 7 just doesn't work with Vegas Pro 18

Have bought their Titler Pro 7 product, to work with Vegas Pro 18. It has been over 6 months, and I just can't get it to work with Vegas. I can open Titler Pro standalone. But when I open it from Vegas, it just freezes. Raising the issue with NewBlue hasn't helped so far, ticket is ongoing. If I'm lucky, once a while it will work and allow me to create something. But like today, it just refuses to work even after multiple restarts. This is massively frustrating, feels like the money could have been spent elsewhere. It shouldn't be this hard to make something work.

Too many problems with their plugins

I bought newbluefx plugins years ago and they've been problems; actually they're the only plugins that give me problems. And once again their plugins gave me a problem today. I was editing using premiere pro last night with no problems. I got up this morning and all of a sudden premiere wouldn't open. It kept getting stuck on "Loading AlphaProcessor.aex". I updated premiere pro to the latest version today and I still had the same problem. After contacting adobe, it turns out it was their plugins. As soon as we deleted them, premiere worked fine. I have no idea why their plugins have so many problems and why they caused this issue today. It wasted an entire day of editing. I will no longer use their plugins. There shouldn't be this many problems after paying for their products.

Their Chroma Key Pro is nearly…

Their Chroma Key Pro is nearly impossible to use. It's so very slow that it's comical. I get the round beach ball every time I click, and the video won't even playback. All I get is audio....It has crashed Adobe Premiere Pro repeatedly. I have a brand new Macbook Pro 2019 with 16gigs of ram and a large SSD Drive. I'm pulling my files from my internal SSD drive.

I work in pro audio and I'm used to plugins that bog down my CPU, but this Chroma Key Pro is really a joke.

Not only that, I bought a 3-month subscription for the TotalFX360 package. I have to dig around to find how to get access to the Titler Pro 7 Ultimate....I finallly found it under Help, Downloads, but I can't download it. I keep getting a page error. It's not an issue with my internet connection.

Absolutely the worst plugins I've ever experienced. Don't waste your time or money.

Poor support generally

Poor support generally, I was only ever stalled or pointed at non-relevant help articles. Add to that the version of Title Live I shelled out for became essentially unsupported a couple of months after purchase and they offered $100 off to "upgrade" for "only" $2300 more on top of what I already paid.

Where is the help when you need it?

Sure, great customer support if you can ever reach them. No phone number anywhere. Then when you contact them by email, good luck getting a timely response. It appears they are too busy promoting the sales and the slick advertising campaigns to hook you in.

Great software - even better customer service

I installed a trial copy of Titler Pro4 - nice bit of kit for creating and using templates to create video titles in various NLE's. (Non-linear Editing i.e Sony vegas, Adobe AE, Avid, Pinnacle studio etc).

I had some problems getting it to work on my setup and graphics cards. After a few emails and delays (due to time differences) The support team where able to remote to my machine and fix the problem (due to some out of date graphics drivers). The contact and support I received was excellent - and this was just on the trial software of Titler Pro4 - they went above, beyond and then some - and as I brought the sw and had missed out on a special offer at the time (being unable to evaluate it) - they even extended the offer for me. Great team and great support from the NewBlueFX guys - top marks for support and even help after purchase. To Caleb and the team thank you - love what you guys are doing - a shining example of great customer service - despite the time differences!
