Well where to start, firstly just don't do any dealing with this company an absolute rip off they draw you in with cheap offers and then the add ons start stuff like electric cable for the hook up knives forks ect then car park charges and states left at owners risk but despite all this I was still going to go for it, I know I'm silly but we were looking forward to this break touring round the Scottish Highlands climbing the odd mountain here and there I actually was going to propose to my girlfriend on top of Ben nevis I know what you're thinking he really is quite silly why not do it somewhere warm. Anyway so now they text me saying canceled due to vehicle recall contact admin for refund believe me you can not get in touch with this company when trying to get your money back. There's an online chat with different categories, before hire, after hire, refunds and cancellations this department is closed for the Bank Holiday every day of every week so you can't get your money back, don't deal with this company people.

I've been waiting for 3 month to get my £1250 deposit returned now they say gone bust and contact the bank to recover it

Stay clear of this company. Booked to hire a Motorhome over New Year, bombarded with emails asking for more money for electric hook up, cutlery etc. Received email Monday asking for deposit before could take the van on 30th Dec, boy am I glad I didnt pay it, got another email Tuesday saying booking has been cancelled not to collect vehicle and that they woukdnt be refunding me the money I have paid and to contact my bank. I too had a conversation with "Lucy" on live chat and told a load of lies. This company hides behind about 20 other websites and companies offering motorhome hire, they have been investigated by trading standards and certainly need investigating again. Ruined New Year for my children, livid!!

WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Anyone looking at these reviews everyone is saying the same thing we have all been scammed national Motorhomes are well known for doing this to people taking there money and cancelling there bookings with NO REFUND you can then never get hold of them only by live chat to be told contact your bank for your refund my bank is now investigating . This company have been on watch dog hopefully they will be shut down ASAP they can’t carry on doing this to innocent people absolute low life’s behind this company Scum bags

same as everyone else.... Paid out the money and after completing the online forms had an email stating the vehicle had been recalled. Unable to contact the company other than live chat there told to contact the card provider....... I have reported to Action fraud as this appears to be a massive fraud being undertaken.

Do not use.
Hire was great. Van good and the logistics fine.
T&Cs aren't great but I read and went with them, no issues.
The deposit is too high but that is the deal.
They confirmed no excess charges at all - the van was good, no speeding or any other charges.
When I asked for the refund though after the 28 days they said they were unable to process payments this is the response.

Lots more chat but the long and short of it they are not refunding the money. Sadly as I would willingly hire from them again however this is so obviously how they operate.

Do Not Use - 2 months after my holiday I do not have a refund of £1250 deposit. They are claiming £100 for emptying a toilet cassette that I had emptied and cleaned, and definately not used only 15 mins before returning to the hire yard. The southampton team were nice, but the admin is incorrect and charging for services they have not o provided. When I tried to discuss they 'chat lines' were terminated mid conversation, and there is no escalation proceedure for complaints. I will be looking into legalities of service and breach of contract

Cancelled 10 days before trip. No refund received. No one will answer the phone or reply to emails. Stay away if you don’t want to lose your money.

They are running this new scam whereby Xmas bookings are being cancelled and then they go quiet. I have a transcript of a chat today where I was repeatedly told to claim a chargeback from my bank which I'm in the process of doing. There will be an investigation and then a resolution. Meanwhile my £837 remains in limbo.

I too got a text and email at 1730 yesterday, when the chat was closed. On my chat today they stated that the cancellation was due to insurance limitations on their part - not an emergency vehicle recall.

The whole process has been choreographed from the start with extras added along the way. I had a bad feeling but never thought it would lead to this.

The main name seems to be Unbeatable Hire Ltd.
Look it up at Companies House and you'll find the directors.

I’m calling Trading Standards next & I suggest we all do the same. I think there will be hundreds of us caught in this scam. Maybe we should start a FB group to communicate, maybe a demo at their base…
UPDATE: Hire Booking Centre has gone into liquidation. This company is owned by Unbeatablehire Limited which remains active. Check where your money went. Half of mine went to HBC and the other half to Motorhome Hire. In the end of the day I dealt with National Motorhome Hire - they decided where the payments would go. I have an email from National Motorhomes thanking me for my booking - contract! Go after Unbeatable Hire - the directors are the same!

I booked 1 week over Xmas & New Year. Last night at 5.30pm (ie after the office closed) cancelling the booking. Can't get hold of anyone (not even live chat) Yesterday I added a 2nd driver and paid £40 to do so. This feels like a fraud.

Dreadful - this started with a text message offering a Motor home from £17 a night. We knew it would not be that but we never expected that a few weeks later that a 3 x £17 = £51 would actually turn out to be £631.

As said here the first communications were good - but soon we were bombarded with requests for a bit more money here then there and there and there. Everything became an extra.

But we have a good time - then a draw front fell off. We reported this - but that cost us £97

Then when we returned the camper van we were told that the toilet cassette I had cleaned out just 30 minutes earlier was now full of waste and that the connection was broken. This plus the drawer meant that we had lost our £250 deposit.

I cannot recommend this company and it seems they have many subsidiaries - so beware.

Whoever you use - allow for lots of time to look over the van before you move in - I suggest you take a video of everything so that you can compare before an after shots - also insist on being present when the after rental review is taken. My feeling - though I cannot prove this - is that the toilet cassette we used and the one we were shown were not the same. They could not have been as the one I returned was empty this one was 1/4 full.

Wow" please don't use this company or the other 13 parent company they supposedly work with they are all the same people I booked and paid for a motorhome hire over Xmas they sent me email canceling the booking saying the motorhome had been recalled which I found out was a lie as I got an online quote in another name for the same days they had canceled my booking for the same motorhome same pick up point they were going to take £199.00 deposit there and then too wow the cheek I had to ring the bank fraud dep to try and get my money back as they won't answer the phone BEWARE DONT USE THIS SCAMMER

This company is a disgrace
We booked and paid full amount for a three day break between Xmas and New Year in August
December 10th received an Email stating that the Van had been "recalled" and booking cancelled
Now there's no answer off anyone there about a refund of £503 including a deposit
Legal action is in the process in the small claims court

DREADFUL EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH.
The Heaters didn't work in the van, the hot water didn't work in the van. The table was broken and the overall condition of the van was very poor. After 3 days in the freezing cold campervan they still charged the full amount, they went on to charge for £40 for parking which was not disclosed prior to leaving it there.
They hold £1250 on your credit card, after 28 working days and lots of chasing, calling and talking to them on live chat they send you a link where you can apply for your deposit back (Less deductions). NEVER EVER HIRE FROM THEM!!

Booked a motor home for June. Great price, huge reduction, asked if van was road worthy in the end, so cheap. Then bombarded with extras. Can’t believe hook up cable an extra along with cutlery. Next parking for car. Stopped adding extras for now and considering cancelling as unsure what more additional costs might be. Not such a Black Friday bargain after all.

Obtained a quote online. And was happy with the potential value for money we were to receive.

On being contacted by one of their friendly representatives, we were told we could now only collect a motor home from Glasgow for our selected dates. This put an end to the rental.

I initially just enquired about motor home but the follow up gentle without any pressure.

All info was clear for novice like me.
