I live in the UK and my grandchildren are in New Zealand. Mighty Ape offers a fantastic range of toys and gifts at great prices, making it easy and affordable to send presents without the high cost or risk of shipping from the UK. Their gift-wrapping service and speedy delivery make the whole process simple and reliable.
I’m a very happy customer — and my grandchildren are just as delighted!
With Christmas around the corner, I’ll definitely be shopping with Mighty Ape again and highly recommend them.
No issues with my first purchase off Mighty Ape.
2nd purchase, a nightmare, tracking my parcel. Ordered on the 4th October & it's the 14th & it is still sitting in the SFC warehouse in China!!!! Never again will I order off Mighty Ape, when they use and allow their third party suppliers to get away with misleading the public with false advertising and misleading information
Easy to find item i needed to buy, price great, delivery fast. Update on delivery progress by email great too
They're owned by Kogan now so no longer kiwi and have a default ticked checkbox to sign people up for $29 a quarter subscription, having this selected by default when you buy something is deeply unethical and easy to miss. Never buying from them again.
Ease of ordering, well packaged and quick delivery.
UPDATED (9/8/2025 after a few uses) The product itself has proven quite disappointing.
1/ Firstly, 3 seconds to put together? C'mon 🤣
While it's not exactly difficult, but 3 seconds? 🤣
(Especially the first time you put it together. Certain parts have to go around a certain way, but the little instruction sheet supplied doesn't mention that).
2/ Once put together I've found that it slides around on the stainless steel bench top basically every time you touch it (especially empty or in the early stages of placing items) as it is so light it really needs little non-slip legs or something grippy underneath.
3/ It doesn't hold 250mm square plates as the 300mm width dimensioned on the pic relates to the base. So basically only round plates.
4/ The pics on the website shows it holding glasses, but the vertical glass-supports on mine are slightly shorter than those in the pic and every glass I've tried just falls off. That could get expensive. So the glasses have to sit on the top rack where the big plates are shown in the pics, as they fall off the allocated hooks and fall over on the bottom rack. I do think that even with supports as long as those in the pics, only certain glasses - probably relatively short glasses with a very narrow diameter - would stay safely held.
5/The chopping board hook doesn't clip on where it's shown in the pic either. Fitted there it's hampered by the tray base. It has to go on the next bar up where it slides from side to side and doesn't really fit there well. Funnily enough, the little construction sheet supplied looks as if it is meant to hook on the upper rail, differing from the pics (unclear as on the back side of the unit).
6/Looking at the pic in retrospect it looks like it was designed for the days where everybody drank their daily tea from cups & saucers and those that use chopsticks to eat their meals. Yes, it holds chopsticks but drops my glasses onto the bench top. After using this I'd still rate the service and packaging at 5 stars, but the product is really only a 2.5 stars at best. It's actually as if I've got a slightly modified version of the unit on display in the pics.
told by one of your staff that i have placed no new orders, sent in proof of purchase along with reference numbers checked back and part of yesterdays order has been dispatched and shipped to palmerston north so why would i be told by staff that i had not placed any new orders, this stressed me out and made me throw a fit, i am however covered by pay pal i have sent in proof of my large purchases
Mighty Ape is always a go too and packaging and delivery on point.
Always impressed with them
Thank you
Delivery fees extortion if you are not a member so there is extortion and blackmail involved.
Mighty Ape has become an absolute landmine of dodgy 3rd party products. Many of these have minimal descriptions and are being sold ludicrously above RRP. It's only when you check the hidden warranties tab that you find out that Mighty Ape refutes any responsibility for these sales, and says that any returns or exchanges will have to be done through this mystery seller you've never heard of. Are they based in NZ? Do they even have customer service? Until you inevitably run into issues, you'll have no way of knowing.
I don't understand how Mighty Ape have become this absolute shell of its former self, but its become horrifyingly predatory. I had friends that wanted to buy me a present, and went looking for Arkham Horror LCG products. Turns out that the one they found ("Arkham Horror LCG Edge of the Earth - Game" listed for $236.62) is around double RRP. The only reason they avoided disaster by buying it is that the product is so poorly named (just called "game" instead of letting you know whether it was the Campaign or Investigator Expansion; two entirely different products) that they double checked with me before buying it.
I oredered a heating pad a week ago. I didn't get a confirmation email just an enormous amount of spam.
I tried to email them and they said they needed proof of payment which I sent and received no feedback on.
I tried to use the live chat and it just glitched continuously asking me to type in my name.
There is no one that actually wants to help. We received a partial order but the most important item was not delivered.
This has been a ridiculous experience.
I run a holiday park. We have been adding new cabins and I have been ordering the mattresses from mighty Ape. The quality has been good but the speed of packaging and delivering is exceptional.
excellent professional company, fast on delivery, no more than two days. Can be relied upon.
Apalling right from the start. Now owned by Kogan, so you're dealing with an Australian outfit. They charge insane high shipping fees, as your goods are coming from third parties in AU, and they take zero responsibility when things go even slightly wrong. No phone number to call to get help, and dealing with their "online agent" bots is like pulling teeth. They don't even offer a feedback opportunity for their runaround circus, and hide their customer support services behind an entirely different customer sign-in process to push back should you have the audacity to expect good service for such a high price.
Companies like this are why people use Temu.
Amazing customer support. We got delivered a broken wooden cutting board and got a replacement in no time. Easy communication and quick response.
Since Kogan took over, Mightyape customer service has been shocking to say the least. Took 5 days to reply to my email as a primate, which states primates are first in line, only replied to the email when I went on live chat and had to wait 12 minutes in line behind non primates, Mightyape took $29 out of my account without any notification regarding declined subscription, so for 3 months my primate was not automatically cancelled nor was an email sent to me that my payment was declined. They nearly charged me $58 within a 3 day window. Customer service said they would give me a $20 credit and will show up within 1-2 days, has now been a week, contacted them and still being ignored.
Tracking on their site is also terrible, says it's still at depot then just randomly shows up days later, doesn't update.
Primate has gone from $19 to $29 unexpectedly this year.
Would not recommend dealing with this company. I've been using them since 2019. Moving into better business that have respect for their customers.
I have bought many things from Mighty Ape in the past but my experience of a few weeks ago has been so stressful over a plantar fasciitis sock that I purchased for only $29, the very first time I tried it on, it snapped, I spoke to them literally the next day. They told me as they were selling it for another company namely SENSUAL SALE, I would have to wait 3-5days for their reply. What I can not understand is I paid Mighty Ape so in my opinion they are responsible. Anyway, since then I have probably received 7 emails all so confusing. Meanwhile SENSUAL SALE wrote and bargained with me asking me I would except 60 percent of my money back and keep the socks which I no longer wanted or trusted to work. Also when i first received these socks there was no instructions or any pamphlet to say where it was from or how to use it etc There is too much to write on this regarding the communication that I receivied from Mighty Ape, all inconsistent and confusing.
Please never buy anything from SENSUAL SALE as they do not take responsibility. Lastly if you (Mighty Ape) are selling things on another companies behalf, you need to be assured they are legit and also taje responsibility as the MONEY IS PAID TO YOU AND NOT SENSUAL SALE.
I have never had this much problems over a $29 item.
I ordered on the 2nd of September and checkout said 'order now to receive 8-9th September'. Immediately received an email after saying expected delivery is 10-11th September. Yesterday it was finally dispatched and says expected delivery 15th September. That is a huge timeframe from the 2nd for goods that are listed as in stock (if I add the same items to my cart now the 'expected' delivery date is earlier than the delivery date I have been given for my order that I placed a week ago. Customer service are zero help and just say 'it is what it is' and tell me I could have paid for express delivery. I might have if they had been honest about the delivery timeframe in the first place. Very dismissive and just seem to think it's my fault for ordering from them. I tend to agree with them on that one. They don't give any reason or resolution. Paying for express delivery to make up for their lies would have been an easy and fruitful resolution but they don't do that because I should have paid (even though I had no idea it was going to be 2 weeks.
Over charging. Invoice states one price, credit card charged a higher price, one month later no solution and very slow at returning emails , no way to call them, they just do not care, once bitten, never going back
I have been waiting for a book for OVER FOUR MONTHS.
They now order through other suppliers and lie about the delivery timeframe on their website. Four months for a book that wasn't sold out online is ridiculous.
They have offered a refund equal to the purchase price, but because money devalues and they don't intend on paying for compensation of time wasted and inflation, I am left with little choice.
So I wait patiently while they tell me that they still haven't ordered it from their external supplier.
