I was a Media Temple customer for many years, all seemed ok. Until the company was sold to GoDaddy earlier this year.
Now my experience of trying to maintain my account inside of GoDaddy has been real bad, the two products aren't merged functionally, the service can no longer be used easily or quickly.
I was on the phone to GoDaddy support yesterday for two hours and it's still a total mess. The operator (not his fault) had no info or briefing about what or where Media Temple was -he had no clue. At the beginning of the call he was Googling it on the external web.
It doesn't inspire confidence in either company. Both the legacy of Media Temple and the reputation of GoDaddy.
It seems like a merger or acquisition that has been managed really badly. It's wasted hours and hours of my time.

Been a customer for 10 years and have had the most absolutely despicable service from GoDaddy since the changeover.
Websites down, emails down, support staff have no idea or simply lie.
GoDaddy then deleted all of my legacy email services from the transitional MT/GoDaddy servers.
I've spent about 6 hours on the phone or chat support to these people and the service and reliability of the hosting gets worse every time.
Like a Kafka story. I cancelled my service with Media Temple after many years and closed the account before migration to GoDaddy and removed linked domain. Still getting emails from GoDaddy telling me migration successful DoH!

Cheated with a $360 bill after more than a decade of being their client.
Due to their lack of support, increase of price, ftp problems and impossibility to contact, I requested to close my hosting on the 9th of April 2023, before they moved to GoDaddy.
I received a confirmation that my hosting was going to be closed from Jonathan Ramirez on the 12th of April.
Instead of that, I’ve been charged on the first of May with a $360 bill for a whole hosting year as a reseller in GoDaddy.
I want immediate reimbursing and proper closure.
There is no way to open a support request.
None of my emails to the support account, the legal account, the press account, the PR account, etc. or twitter or the form in their website was responded.
I want immediate reimbursing and proper closure.
EDITED 6th of May:
I received an email from Trustpilot to add review details, and I was expecting to have the option of attaching some documents, but the page was closed right after placing my personal details, leaving it with a "reference number" field empty because I didn't understand what it was referred to.
The numbers for the bill are
Invoice/Statement (ivs#): 103365-91
Account (act#): 103365
The web hosted was "marcelgarbi.com"
Edited 15th of May:
NOBODY contacted me at all.
I feel robbed.

There is no support at this company. It is a ghost town. Go elsewhere.

Much the same as a lot of comments here. I've been with MT for over a decade and now it's just awful. 2.5 hour wait times for a lead to a hosting question that may not arrive. Really disapointing that such a great name can fall from grace so tragically. I'll be looking to migrate my sites ASAP.

Deleted our entire website and lied about it.
Then promised they would restore the website. Still nothing. Nobody responds to my questions. And nobody has posted an update. Then they lied and told they could not email a transcript of the Chat knowing it would show they lied.
UPDATE: As of call this morning 4/5/23 I was informed they won't know if the site can be restored for 72 hours. The Customer Service person was very patient but completely helpless.
The entire point of Media Temple was that it had all these back-up systems in place. That at most might take an hour or two to restore a site if something happened.
That is unless Go Daddy bought them and of course it is their fault. Then suddenly nothing can be done.
Now they are trying to pretend they are "investigating" if it was their mistake. As if after years hosting with them I would somehow mysteriously cancel my hosting plan and delete my own site.
To say that we are angry is an understatement. Our company website is now being held hostage. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.
UPDATE: 4.6.23 10:30 AM
The reply on this review made no effort to contact me. Our site is still not restored. No word even if it can be. They have ruined ten years of work with no effort to contact me at all. The Help Desk Ticket claimed response would be in two hours. it has now been nearly three days.
We will be considering legal action if our site is not restored.

Deleted my entire server. Every single site. Every single email. Gone. No response as to if this is permanent or not.

As a long-term customer of Media Temple's hosting service, it's with great disappointment that I write this review. For over a decade, I was a happy and satisfied customer of Media Temple, but in recent years, since being acquired by GoDaddy, the service levels have significantly declined.
The once-great hosting company has unfortunately become a low-quality service, prompting me to actively migrate my sites to another host and cancel my service. It's frustrating to note that opening support tickets is no longer an option, and the wait time for live chat support can take hours. Furthermore, the live chat automatically closes if you're not present, making it harder to get the support you need.
To make matters worse, I have not been able to send or receive emails for four days now, and tech support is saying they are working on it but don't know how to solve it. This is a critical issue for my business and is unacceptable.
It's a shame to see a once-great company fall from grace, and I would recommend others avoid their hosting service.

Absolutely the worst "support" experience. I have ever had. After waiting on hold for an hour this guy decided to berate me because I referred to our server as a DV and not a VPS.
I called because we keep getting an error when trying to do a snapshot backup in the Media Temple control panel and he tried to tell me we had to hire a web developer to fix backups that are done by them in their own control panel. Which is just ridiculous.
Now that GoDaddy is running the show service just sucks beyond compare. Now after being with Media Temple for 10 years I have to migrate to a new hosting company because they have hired morons for support and there is no way to escalate to someone that knows what they are doing and no recourse other than calling back and hoping you don't get the same "support" rep.

Yes same as below - just had the worst customer service experience of all time.
Horrible. I will not go to GoDaddy either and they now own them and are not taking responsibility.
Truly horrible.

They sold out to GoDaddy and now there is no way to get in touch with them for support.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a transitional period, but this has been the case for months now.
Regrettably, I am ending my nearly ten-year relationship as a customer with them, starting today.
* Update: Unsurprisingly I never received an email from MT about this. And to anybody in a similar situation we have just moved to unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk and their service and support to date has been fantastic.

You can no longer open a support ticket, live chat takes hours to get through and if you're not there it's closed instantly.
Shame to see a once great hosting company become such a low quality service.
Absolutely avoid.

Media Temple WAS great, with stellar customer service. Now that they are under the GoDaddy "umbrella" the wait times are well over an hour. I don't blame the folks on the other end of the chat or phone. It is clearly the migration to Go Daddy. I too have been with (mt) for over 10 years and will be migrating over to a new hosting provider... ( this will be cheaper in the long run also! )

Its over 2 hours now!
Why did you shut our company website?

Avoid at all costs!
I have been with Media Temple for over 15 years. The service now is none existent since their recent migration over to GoDaddy.
Their chat support is none existent. I have spent countless hours just trying to access my client's files. Their cPanel implementation is not fit for purpose and is a total mess.
On the rare occasion that I can get through their tech support (usually after being on hold for hours on end) I get put through to a GoDaddy representative that does not have any access to the old Media Temple architecture. This means that I can't even pass their verification procedure as my support pin and email account does not register on their systems.
After failing to help me, I am simply put back on old again waiting for the same thing to happen again.
Such a shame that the company has been totally ruined. Avoid at all costs!!!

I've had MT for decades and dealt with all of their updates, mergers, changes to potentially end up with GoDaddy? I ran screaming from them to someone else. Their new C-Panel is a rabbit hole of chaos. Every time I've live chat it is minimally a 1 hour wait but usually longer.

MT is a joke. The transfer to GoDaddy has been an utter disaster. I host three corporate/client websites with MT, and with the transfer two stopped resolving URL due to MediaTemple screwing up the MX records. There is ZERO customer support. Ticketed support is simply GONE. Nobody answers chat support — been on hold for hours. I just received a cryptic, worrying email saying "We recently noticed that the following Media Temple services of yours are suspended. Unfortunately, suspended services are not eligible to be migrated. If a service remains suspended the service will be deleted, and data will not be recoverable." WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN? I can't find anything on MT's site; nothing in my Admin corresponds to this email, and of course, there is no support. So I am fully backing up everything and preparing to inform my clients we should move our services to another host. This is pathetic, and evidently MT does not care about customer data, nevermind website uptime.

I knew that I couldn't be the only one that thought that their service turned to $^I# after 12 years of being a customer. All my sites (I have multiple sites hosted with them) went down. When I asked why they said they're shutting down the older servers and moving them over to new ones and that it could take up to 10 days!! Huh? 10 days of my customers not being able to reach my online business? 2 days later, it was back online.... for a day... Its been down again for more than 12 hours... Was told the same thing from support, "Sorry, the whole process could take up to 10 days and there may be periods of downtime". So I cant even switch to different hosting company as we cant access our MediaTemple dashboard while they are migrating to a new server. 80% 1 star rating on trustpilot says it all. Someone start a class action as this is way beyond acceptable.

OMG! What a disaster! I used and loved Media Temple since 2010. What a nightmare it became after it was sold to GoDaddy. My business email is rejected half of the time due to spam issues. After a long back and forth with the support they told me they can't do anything because someone on the same mail node is a spammer and it affects others.
DNS is on and off during the last 12 months. Support says - we can see here that everything works properly, but Google meticulously keeps pausing my Ads due to the destination being unavailable.
Stay away from this mess. Never thought I'll say something like this about Media Temple. So sad.
