Fraudulent company
My Dad bought a MeacoCool unit that is defective. We legally rejected it within the statutory 30 day window under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, but were met with a blatant lie from customer service claiming returns are only accepted within 14 days. Store policy does not override UK statutory law.
When called out on this breach of contract, they pivoted to a pathetic stalling tactic. My dad currently cannot access his original registered email inbox. We have provided the full name, order number, delivery address, phone number etc. to satisfy identity verification. They have flatly refused to offer any alternative method to pass security, stating that emailing from the original inbox is the "only way".
This is legally untenable. Under the Data Protection Act 2018, a customer has the right to appoint a representative, and a business has a duty to verify identity, not enforce a rigid, arbitrary inbox rule to avoid processing a statutory refund. I have asked on several occasions for this to be escalated however Kiran from the "customer care" team has refused. He has also refused to provide any alternative method of passing security. You cannot permanently confiscate a customer’s money just because an email account is inaccessible.
If the full refund is not processed immediately, a Section 75 bank claim, a formal complaint to Trading Standards for deceptive trading practices, and Small Claims Court proceedings will follow. Absolute cowboys.

This was a very easy transaction, ordered one day delivered the next. Tried it out the same day and dried all the washing in a couple of hours.

Love this fan! Beautifully made and easy to use. The remote control is a lovely addition too - as are the three ‘modes’ that can be used so that the fan slows overnight when you cool down. Very clever! A lovely product!
