Gold plated rubber bungs.
Tricky one this. So this company advertise through .boilerrepair-stockport.co.uk. The overarching company seems to be we care.
It’s just so unnecessarily expensive. Call out is £160. You’d think for an hours work that £160 is a good rate and enough money for a boiler repair engineer. Oh no. Thankfully they have your part in stock. A £10 rubber seal that somehow costs you £180. So total repair cost of £340. Anyway the boiler is fixed and that’s why they don’t get 1 star, but if you can go elsewhere. And to we care. You seriously need to stop ripping people off.
Bernadette Kennedy and Steve where…
Bernadette Kennedy and Steve where brilliant. I was on my own and hot water pouring from the tap at 9pm at night my toilet also was broken They fixed the taps and toilet great job.
Rip Off
Booked this firm for repair of a leaking pipe on my sink
Mr Raw the engineer stripped the taps and the pipes out .He then said that we needed a new set of taps i was confused about this as the taps were working ok but off he went to Screwfix and came back with a new set off taps and said they cost £72-99 which was a lie they looked very cheap so i checked on line and found they were only £46-99 he then fitted them and started pack up and leave .I said i will move my old taps no he said i can recycle those and took them. When i found the over charge on the taps they said they would refund it that was a month ago stiil no refund .The cost to repair a broken pipe came to£282-99 and we are pensioners .I am now getting my Local Trading Standards involved be warned do not use this business
Russell Bennett i had the same…
Russell Bennett i had the same experience they are truly shocking and rude. Did you check your bank statement how much was deducted and what company was it as i was charged way over what i thought it would be and money taken without consent!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS FIRM OF COWBOYS.
Called Local Plumbers to fit new taps to the bath and wash hand basin, I supplied the taps.
If you must use them then:
> take before and after photos.
> record the time of arrival and job completion
times.
Plumber (Melvin) was late in arriving and spent too much time in answering his phone when should be working, record the times spent on the phone and deduct time that they spend on the phone.
The operative damaged the bath panel, he came out to look at the damage and denied any responsibility.
Actually stated that the wife or myself actually put our knees against the panel and damaged the panel.
Only one thing to say about this operative
DO NOT USE THEM....
buyer beware! Their rates are high too.
Theses scumbags called me today
Theses people called me today, they wanted to talk about boiler cover, but they forget they took money out off my bank account, £186 + without my permission for work they didn't do and parts I didn't receive or need, I canceled the job within 15mins,and that I would find someone else, they said I still had to pay for the parts, I rang the manufacturer, the parts in total were only £45-50, they had put 100%+ intrest on top, so when they called today & were trying to get boiler cover, I first asked them why they did what they did and all she said was I'm sorry about that, I asked do i get my money back, her reply was" am sorry i can't do that, they will fake & take off you what they can,
Avoid, avoid, avoid! Can't be trusted!
I was misled into having an expensive major bathroom refit when a simple repair of a leaking tap would do.
I was required to pay £48 upfront as a "booking fee" and in the process the company obtained my credit card details. The plumber arrived without the basic materials one would expect to undertake the repair he had chosen, e.g. pipes and fittings, and was off-site for over an hour to source these (two trips). When the job was finished he asked for a signature on a blank mobile screen, but I was not permitted to see what I was signing (no printer). Within hours I received an invoice by email notifying me that the plumber's boss wanted a further £400+ (making over £450 in total) and they lost no time in plundering my credit card again, without my permission, using banking details they had stored.
Checkatrade refused to honour their Guarantee, claiming that they had terminated the company's membership, and in any case they would only compensate for bad workmanship (i.e. not unnecessary work).
Now I shall take this up with Trading Standards.
I was told that my monobloc tap was not repairable, but I discovered soon afterwards that a new ceramic cartridge could have been obtained for £5-£10 and fitted within the hour. I immediately notified the company in writing, twice, that expensive work had been done after misleading me (thus affecting my transactional decisions). The company is still refusing to compensate me for the unnecessary work. Vulnerable OAPs should be protected from this, and
promised OAP discounts should be honoured.
Pure ripoff
I wish I could give them a zero rating—pure ripoff. I booked them as my boiler was not working. The engineer didn't fix anything but £198 was deducted from my account.
Great local service from this friendly Family Run Company
Great local service from this friendly family firm.
Needed some repairs done at an elderly relatives place in greater Manchester. This company is based in Stockport and were excellent throughout.
Have to admit I checked the Trustpilot rating after I had booked and was a bit concerned. Spoke to the team at We Care and they explained they had had some difficulties with out of area tradesmen but all local repairs were actioned by their own local staff.
Repair went without a hitch the relative concerned was very impressed by the courteous and efficient workman and I was kept informed all the way through.
Local plumbers - took my money without providing a service
Not local plumbers just someone on a phone who contacts a plumber who may or not turn up. In my case they didn't.
My bathroom was leaking so needed a plumber quickly. They said I needed to pay an up front "call out" fee of £48 which I did. The plumber didn't turn up and didn't call me.
I eventually got through to Local plumber We Care. I told them that I had got another plumber and would like the "call out fee refunded as there had been no call out. I was informed that they could not do this over the phone and I would need to contact an complaints email. I have had no response and it seems there is no intention to refund my money.
Do not use this company as they do not care, are not local plumbers are re very willing to take money without providing a service.
Excellent prompt service
Excellent prompt service. The Plummer arrived within 40 minutes and found the leak. I would throughly recommend this company
Nope.
There’s no transparency and you fundamentally can’t trust them to be fair and honest with you. Let alone helpful.
They forgot to subtract the 10% OAP discount from our bill and continued to avoid reimbursing despite us sending them four reminder emails.
Sent out a rookie plumber who left the toilet dripping from a nut. Who also panicked while undoing a main water pipe inside our house. And who wasted time on our job calling the head office to complain about the terms of his engagement.
They charged us triple the price for the faucet the plumber bought from our local home store.
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE. Booked appointment on Mon morning and was charged call out fee - £48 taken immediately. No mention this was not refundable. Phoned them to cancel on Tues morning as leak under sink had all but stopped. Asked for my £48 back and told manager would email me. Nothing received. Called Weds and Thurs - still no email, just given complaints email address. Will complain and contact trading standards. VERY BAD COMPANY
boiler repaired
I had my boiler repaired as an emergency quick and friendly service good value would highly recommend this lovely family run company will use for any plumbing issues I have in the future
Somehow they just keep getting worse!
Not only was the delivery of this service appalling as the boiler service caused more problems than when we began, customer service is equally terrible - when I finally managed to get through to a manager (and it took over 3 weeks) she was rude, abrasive, and concluded the conversation by hanging up on me - hardly 'friendly' or 'customer-focused' at all.
This is just an umbrella operation which subcontracts work out to any old person who'll take it - I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole and can only suggest you avoid them at all costs. Cheaper, friendlier and more reliable service literally everywhere else.
I'm off to report them to trading standards...
Very well organised company from making…
Very well organised company from making the booking up to the job being finished. Costs were clearly communicated and Kennedy, who carried out the work, was most helpful completing the job quickly and efficiently.
Strongly recommend them and I will use them again when required.
Don't use this company
Don't use this company. They charged £48 for arranging a plumber. Sent him without the part even though I'd given them the part number. The plumber couldn't do the job but then I discovered they had charged me £135 for the call out without my authorisation. The job never got done even though they promised the part was on order for weeks. I got it in 3 days.
Replace a faulty tap for me and no…
Replace a faulty tap for me and no refund. When you ask to replace a new one the manager called Steve and said "you are f*ing waste my time " totally like a robber
They are awful please do not use!
They are awful please do not use! They charge £48 admin fee for doing nothing. They then store your card details and charge you money without your authorisation.
Avoid. Deal with a reputable plumber directly.
I used this company by accident (one of those paid for ads that shows up even when you're searching for someone else).
Short version - don't use this firm. They farm the job out to anyone - the guy who came to us was terrible.
Long version - They charged £120 for a boiler service which left the boiler in a worse state than it was when it began - water leaking out of the boiler the next day. I then tried phoning their emergency number to get help - no response. I was able to contact the original plumber who came out and turned it off we we had no hot water / heat for a night. The next day he returned and installed a new expansion vessel but said he thought the boiler was leaking as it had been over-pressurised and that the tap needed turning off - well he must have left it on himself the previous day.
He then texted me the cost of his time and the new part - I didn't pay immediately as I still feel this is a problem the plumber himself caused, and at least want time to speak to this company and my warranty before anything else happened. Anyway, within 2 hours the plumber was back on my doorstep, this time with his boss, both of them shouting and being super aggressive. They threatened to enter the house and take the boiler apart if we didn't pay and said they weren't leaving without payment. We did pay, just to make them go away, but I now have the joy of chasing this up with the original 'we care' (joke!) company - if I can ever get hold of anyone!
