Pleased with the current interest rate--double what I was getting with my money market account. Called with a question just a couple of weeks after opening my account. The customer service person needed to follow up with me the following week and DID!!! Not only left a voicemail because I was already on the phone when the call came in, but also an email. Your phone app and online banking experience is terrible.

On June 1st, I opened a high-yield savings account with Live Oak Bank. I connected it to other bank accounts I had and put money in it.

On June 4th, I was unable to log in to my account. I found out they decided not to move forward with the account, even though I had already opened it. I even have several emails welcoming me to Live Oak Bank. They refused to tell me why and hung up on me every time I called. The most helpful person told me that my money, almost $200 (with plans to add more in the near future), was going back into my account after 60 days. I pushed back on that, and he called back to say it should be more like 5 days.

I looked at my consumer report, and my score is 677. My credit score is between 795 and 810. I have no criminal background -- I have several credit cards, and own a condo and credit card. I've never defaulted on any payment in my life. There's no reason they should close my account, and to add insult to injury, not tell me why, or paths to escalate my complaint. Mashay H claimed she had no boss and refused to provide her full name.

I'm not ruling out a lawsuit and I'm submitting complaints to every regulatory body within reach.

Signing up for a new account was fast and simple. Most of the process was completely done online, but I did have to speak to a customer service representative concerning questions about the account. The representative was very helpful and friendly. Live Oak's personal savings account rate is great!

I work in in-home care and have obtained 2 SBA loans through Live Oak Bank for business acquisition. The entire team has been very responsive to all requests and they communicate well regarding timelines and needed items. Louise, Allison, Megan, and Zach were all fantastic. They were transparent throughout the process and always professional. I would recommend them to anyone considering an SBA loan and I will gladly go back to them again in the future if I have the opportunity.

I use Live Oak only for a savings account, so my experience is limited and simple. I like the comparatively high rates combined with liquidity. I do transfers between this account and my primary checking account, and they always go smoothly.

The team at Live Oak made a potentially anxiety provoking situation (buying a new business) into a pleasant and stress free experience. From beginning to end, I felt comfortable that Andrew Kennedy and Megan Hayes had vast knowledge of the SBA process and had our best interests at heart (which is not something you often say about a bank). We were in constant communication with Megan and I felt I could reach out to her at anytime to answer questions and address concerns. This bank makes it so easy to transfer money to outside accounts. They also have excellent deposit interest rates.
