In 1954, Hans Liebherr started the production of the first fridges in Ochsenhausen, and shortly thereafter, they went into series production. This laid the foundation for Liebherr-Hausgeraete GmbH, which is still the divisional controlling company of all production sites for refrigerators and freezers and manages one of the thirteen product segments of the Liebherr Group.

My first Liebherr refrigerator failed within 3 years (recurring condensation in freezer). The retailer’s service team refused to repair. Due to unique constraints in my kitchen, I elected to purchase another Liebherr refrigerator. It was delivered defective in January 2026 and Liebherr would not allow a replacement. Instead, I’m waiting until July for the part but have no confidence this date will be honored due to several delays. This company does not care about their customers and I cannot recall a worse customer experience for appliances or any other consumer goods I have purchased. It is disheartening to see companies like this operate the way they do with customers having no recourse.

Such a horrible high sound that it constantly hurts my ears and brain. The fridge from 30 years ago where way better with sound. This is just softly said PAINFUL!

After sales service is diabolical! We have an ongoing problem with our freezer which started 3 months ago and we are still waiting for it to be resolved. Engineer visits (when you can eventually get one) have so far damaged parts which were not faulty and we have been sent parts by Liebherr which are different to what the last engineer who visited said we needed! After many emails and telephone calls I was told an engineer would call again yesterday but no one turned up or even bothered to contact us to apologise and rearrange. Appalling service from a company we expected much more from.

I paid €390 for a Liebherr under-the-counter freezer on 9th December last. I believed I was getting a good quality appliance.
But it stopped working on 9th April. Nothing happened when you tried switching it on, unplugging and plugging it.
We checked that it was not the fuse or maybe a loose wire in the plug . It just didn't work. Nothing happened and the food thawed out after a few days and had to be dumped.
After plugging it in an out at least 50 times (no exaggeration!), giving the motor a slap with my hand, it started working again on 20th April, and has continued since.
Shortly after it first stopped working we notified the shop we bought it from (Expert Electric in Mullingar, Ireland) who arranged for an engineer to contact me, which he did - 4 days later.
However I don't have confidence any more in this freezer because of the way it failed and I want a full refund (nothing less. I'm entitled to this). I can be away from the house a week at a time and I don't want to come home to find a pool of water on my wooden floor.
I am beginning to feel what it must be like to be a tennis ball at Wimbledon! I have visited and phoned Expert Electric on 11 occasions, and phoned the Liebherr engineer's number 5 times. Both tell me they are waiting for what the other will say. And all this time I am stuck with a freezer that I can't trust.
If I don't get a satisfactory solution to this issue quickly, I will take the matter to the Small Claims Court.

Disappointing - supposedly premium brand fridge failed within 5 years. Poor customer service.
I purchased a K3130 from AO for £650 in April 2021. Within 5 years, it had failed completely, unable to chill at all.
After about 18 months I noticed the fridge making odd noises, but the fridge appeared to still be cooling food ok, so I thought nothing of it. In hindsight, I should have reported this to the manufacturer as it was in warranty at this point. Unfortunately, the family has suffered a series of bereavements in the past few years, and a noisy fridge was the least of our priorities. The fridge continued, occasionally, to make odd noises, but it has only been since the weather's warmed up this Spring that we noticed food going bad. Looking back, milk would curdle in recent summers earlier than expected, but I had other priorities, just turned the fridge's temperature down and got on with life. In hindsight, the fridge has been slowly deteriorating since about the 18 month mark.
When we had food going bad this Spring, I decided to contact Liebherr for assistance, hoping the item would be repairable. They gave me the number of their local repair specialist, or "engineer" as they grandiloquently call him, a chap called Bryan. I spent 20 minutes on the phone to Bryan, who asked me about the symptoms, and asked me to perform various checks on the unit and the pipes. The conclusion was that the unit was very likely to have developed a slow internal leak, and would therefore be unfixable. He advised a call out charge would be £150. We agreed that given the unit wouldn't be fixable, it wasn't worth a call-out. I relayed this back to Liebherr, who said without a formal report from their linked engineer, they would be unable to help further.
I appealed this - they know the engineer, so could have verified my call with him and taken a sensible view that sending someone on a 90 minute round trip, and forcing the customer to spend £150 to confirm a fridge almost certainly couldn't be fixed, would have been a poor use of time and money. They wouldn't have even have to go have gone out their way to verify my call - their customer service agent (Lionel) told me the engineer was meeting them in their office the next day! I also asked the engineer (by text) to confirm our conversation and his telephone diagnosis, but he never replied. Liebherr advised that if I spent £150 on their engineer, and he confirmed the unit was unfixable, they would likely offer a 45% discount on a replacement. Their like to like replacements now retail at £800, so to call out their 'engineer' and replace the fridge would be the best part of £600.
I pointed out the above, and that the £150 charge was both very expensive, and a poor use of resources. I pointed out that I could buy a budget fridge for £200, so to waste 75% of that on a 10 minute engineer's visit was ridiculous. No one in their right mind would do this (especially given the previous unit had lasted less than 5 years!), and to demand on using their own in house engineer at such a rate is tantamount to extortion (and a conflict of interest - there is an incentive to force customers to use and pay for an expensive approved engineer or they won't help). They wouldn't even agree to cover the engineer's cost if the fridge was confirmed as a write-off. Despite a series of back and forth emails (each one taking several days to be responded to while I was without the use of fridge), including me escalating this to their 'team leader', Liebherr refused to budge. I would expect this level of customer service from a budget manufacturer, not a supposedly 'premium' brand like Liebherr.
If you Google 'Liebherr K3130' reviews, you'll see others have experienced issues with temperature regulation and poor customer service, so I'm not the first. I note Peter Harris had an identical situation to me (see his review 11th April 2026), although they offered to refund his 'engineer' visit.
I have now replaced their useless, failed unit with a budget model by Fridgemaster that cost £200. I would put money on it outlasting the Liebherr unit. My experience of Liebherr - Rolls Royce prices, Temu standard of quality, Ryanair levels of customer service - I will never purchase one of their products again.
Looking forward to seeing their feedback reply to this with a copy and pasted AI response inviting me to contact their customer care team (which if they'd bothered reading this, they'd know I already have). They simply don't care.

We bought a Liebherr freestanding fridge and 5 years later if stopped working and was condemned as beyond repair by a refrigeration service engineer. I effectively paid over £100 per year of service whiz I consider to be very poor value. When contacted both the Retailer and manufacturer they were unable to provide any recompense against the purchase price of the appliance. I could have bought an equivalent cheaper fridge for half the price and still expected it to last much longer. Liebherr did offer me an updated model at a “discounted” price that I could have bought cheaper on the high street. I didn’t feel obliged to invest a further £600 on another Liebherr product. Poor service all round.

I have a Liebherr Fridge and separate Freezer - all fitted into a beautiful kichen. The freezer hasn't been working well for ages. Alarm kept setting off. I tried 2 years ago for help (while under warranty) - and they said someone would be in touch to help. Nothing happened...and tbh the problem kept disappearing...or we just had to press the cancel button to get rid of the intermitten noise. Anyway - 2 years later the ice maker stoped working. I then remember no one had been in touch to fix the alarm issue - so contacted again but a bit more robustly but as was out of warranty I was rejected. I then contacted the kitchen provider - who were brilliant and used their account manager at Liebherr to apply some pressure on customer services - as the original issue had not been fixed. Anyway - this was finally done and all appears well now. 2 questions come out of this:
* why are their products so flakey? quality control seems to be a miss with the org from customer services to manufacturing.
* why do kitchen providers keep plugging away their products knowing that they aren't fit for purpose?
Honestly dont buy, save yourself a headache. You've been warned.

I will never again buy any liebherr fridge. After having technians, opening up for extra air circulation etc etc the noise is stil here. The pulsing, pumping sound goes on and on till it stops, blizz for a while, then it starts again. It cools very well, yes, but it makes me wanna leave the kitchen and I just have to turn it off to still be there. This is just normal they say, while the philips next to it never made noise for 14 years. The liebherr was way more expensive, and I will just give it away now.
My fridge/freezer has benn v good since I bought in 2019. However, the door seals in BOTH the fridge & freezer have split and the cost of replacement is prohibitive. Good engineering let down by the simplest component. Better to spend your money on TWO Beco’s !

Can`t give zero, opened fridge this morning, everything is warm, and freezer everything is ruined, tried to ring Liebherr, the office is closed, the fridge freezer isn`t a year old, I see the reviews are bad, wish had known this last march when I paid £550 have rang the place where I bought it, and they say they will get back to me

The worst experience ever. Within 4 months of buying the refrigerator there was water leakage. They replaced a part twice but the problem didnot go away. Their customer care as bad as their refrigerators. There is no option of a "zero" star hence giving it 1 star.

Poor quality for a premium price. The grip on my fridge broke off, and Liebherr told me that the fridge is not suitable for being opened repeatedly within a short period of time. So if you forget something while cooking, you are apparently expected to wait before opening the fridge again. Completely unacceptable.

One star. Integrated fridge that doesn’t even work when it’s NOT integrated.
Temperatures sitting at 5 to 8 degrees and food going off within days.
Weeks of delays, conflicting advice, and terrible after sales service with no accountability.
Expensive product, zero resolution, and a warranty process designed to stall rather than fix.

I purchased a high-end Liebherr refrigerator in July 2023, with a legitimate expectation of quality, reliability, and proper after-sales support. Unfortunately, my experience was far from that.
The appliance developed serious and recurring defects within the first weeks, specifically failures in the water and ice system, including internal freezing and water leakage. Over time, three identical malfunctions occurred, none of which were permanently resolved.
Despite numerous contacts, technical visits, and repeated follow-ups on my part, solutions were continuously postponed. In December 2024, I was informed that the unit would be replaced, yet this replacement never took place, and the date was unilaterally postponed by several months without clear justification.
Throughout the process, I was met with silence, lack of response, and absence of due diligence, even after formal written communications. The situation dragged on for over a year, causing significant disruption, frustration, and a complete loss of trust.
With no voluntary resolution, I was forced to seek legal redress through the Portuguese Small Claims Court (Julgado de Paz). It is important to note that even after a formal agreement was reached during this process, the deadline stipulated for the refund was not met by the company, leaving the case still unresolved to this date 12/02/2026.
This review is not written out of frustration, but as a factual account of a real consumer experience, intended to inform others that, despite the brand’s reputation, after-sales support can fail seriously when substantial issues arise.
I hope the company uses this case to reassess its internal processes and ensure that consumer rights are respected in practice, not only in theory.

Ongoing issues with our freezer in UK - which cost more than 30k - it has never worked! unfortunately, since our builder renovating the kitchen didn’t install it immediately, we didn’t know that we had an appliance that couldn’t maintain consistent temperature or make ice - until it was out of Liebherr’s commitment to replacing a faulty appliance. I was disappointed but not too worried as I wrongly assumed at this price point if we couldn’t rely on a functioning product, we would at least receive half decent customer service. WRONG. We have had multiple ‘engineers’ - none of whom work directly for Liebherr by the way, they are all ‘partners’ - third party
Refrigerator and Freezer engineers. One of whom openly laughed at me for spending so much money on a freezer and at the ridiculous things engineers before him had told me to do (was an install issue apparently. I needed another platform for it to stand on, many houses of expensive carpentry and materials later, the unit still didn’t produce ice). 6 months on and I still have an appliance that doesn’t work. It’s absolutely miserable.
Truly dire - please, please - DO NOT BUY LIEBHERR. It’s been escalated now - Liebherr have apologised and we are meant to be reassured as they are sending yet another engineer (we have had 5 so far). I’m sick of it, sick of the company. How can you charge this much for a faulty product that doesn’t work from Day 1 and not have the decency to replace it!!!
*** ignore liebherr’s b/s generic response that their local market is looking into it - they don’t care at all. I didn’t post here looking for help for Liebherr - I posted to warn other people not to spend so much money on a useless appliance from a criminal company

We raised the issue of our Liebherr fridge freezer having started to make an unacceptably high droning noise back in November 2024. We have been very patient since then whilst the engineer tried many different ways to solve the issue. Unfortunately the noise ebbs and flows and the engineer has only ever heard it at 34dB which they deem acceptable. Having waited for over a year, with a droning appliance that is now out of warranty, Liebherr wrote to me on 23rd December confirming that they had closed the case (and as such were washing their hands of us). I would not touch this company with a barge pole now as they certainly do not care at all about their customers.
