I used to like Lidl in Greece. In Kreuzberg, Berlin two shops indirectly (not stated honestly) denied me access with bullying and humiliation by the staff (I even had my bag searched for no reason).

Awful, avoidant customer service, I would give 0 if I could
edit: They are offering a 50 eur voucher for the ONLINE STORE...not even for just regular Lidl. 50 eur for more than two weeks of this...shameful. Also, their agents are not even explaining things properly, and they speak to you like machines.
On 11th of August I made an online der, a big one. It contained a mattress I needed because I urgently needed it. It was supposed to come on the 18th but it didn't. When I reached out to the customer service, they did not reply in a timely manner, and when they finally did, they said the courier tried to deliver it (they did not) but that it was not possible'.
Then I wrote again and they said they are looking into it and that there is a delay.
Then nothing, and I wrote again, and again, the same story.
It's been 10 days, nothing has been resolved, they keep saying nothing until I write in, I am sick of it. I need that mattress, I have awful back pain, I moved into a new flat and ordered it because the mattress there is very bad. I have chronic back pain. I am suffering, and they keep ignoring what I write, and keep giving me vague, canned responses.
They offered redelivery or credit? I do not want credit, I want the mattress or I want the whole thing cancelled, and readjusted.
I will never again order from them. Awful service.
edit: I can see that the 'Lidl Team' replies here with the same one sentence to everyone. To contact them via email. Well, don't bother, I did already. And I left the case number. Reply something substantial, real, and not one sentence over and over to all the customers who are complaining. Look at your score: 1.8. For a reason! I've been to many Lidl shops across Europe and Germany's customer service is by far the worst I have ever seen.

Everything
I wonder what they don’t have, because it seems like they have everything on the web.
Not as bad as people make it out to be
It's one of Germany's most popular store chains, and for a good reason. The prices are reasonable and there's basically everything you will every need for daily life and more.
Lidl Pay - dont get fooled
I was shipping in Lidl Riedenburg, Germany, on regulal basis. I was offered Lidl Pay function in my App. I thought I would save myself time when paying. However, the paying arrangements were not set correctly (not the fault on my behalf, but Lidl) and my first payment did not get through. The next day, when my bank emailed me about this problem, I requested IBAN to pay it. But instead, Lidl shifted me directly to the recovery debt company and I three weeks send me the bill double of my original cost for the shopping. So, here it is, they have lost a customer forever.

Physically assaulted at lidl grünewalder Straße 85 42657 Solingen (Klingenstadt)
Went over to LIDL did a quick shopping and was quite happy until I reach the cashier.
She served two people before my turn. Only one cashier desk was open at 7pm. Struck me strange that she did not say hello, which is the norm in most supermarkets. Still was not offended. I started to reach for my wallet when she said something in angry German as I call it. I wondered for a minute what she wanted from me until some kind soup (God bless her heart) pulled my shopping cart toward her.
To my suppose she took my stuff and started shoving it into the cart. I asked her to stop. I already had my card in hand wanting to pay and placed it down to see the mess she had created. She then took my bank card from where I placed it and scanned it then threw it back on the desk??? Needless to say there was a problem
I asked her what she had done with my card. It had beeped and I asked her if she indeed used my card without my consent. I went on to take a photo and as I started to call the police she charged me like an animal. I was SHOCKED. She launched at me and HIT me….
Took me a moment. I told her not to touch me. I raised my voice when she launched again. This time in self defense I got her glasses off her face and she stopped as if switched off
Her supervisor came and started apologising. I was like what the x()£&@“ He started saying how she had had a rough day blah blah and I was still processing what had just happened. He kept asking if I’m alright and what exactly happened. Still in shock I told him he will have to look at their cameras. He quickly mentioned that there are no cameras at the cashier desks ?????
I’m still wondering whether to press charges.
In what situation are customers being hit. That said I really do feel that since the locals here burnt down apartments inhabited by foreigners there is still so much hate in them. There is no excuse for violence ABSOLUTELY NOT
It’s 2025. What is happening in remote parts of Germany. Solingen in particular is slowly becoming a case study. Something in the milk IS NOT CLEAN

We are a family that spends an average…
We are a family that spends an average between €400/500 at the very least, every month at Lidl, paid in cash or bank cards. About the Lidl plus items, either they are sold out on the first two days or the option is to buy more than you actually need and those "Gratis" items, forget about it. They are never there. "Tut mir lied" is the answer you get. Sometimes I just don't bother using the Lidl Plus App.
And that's on the first day sometimes.
Recently, I've been taking my "hard earned" money elsewhere.
The personnel are generally, flat out, unhelpful and even rude at times. Oftentimes they send you on a wild goose chase, telling you where to go and find the items you are looking for. I have still to see one smiling face on any of the employees, which is, what one expects when you enter any business store. They are not obliged to, but it's a world wide norm. And it helps sales. They think they are doing YOU a favor letting you spend YOUR money there.
In-store Kundenserice is definitely "ausverkauft".

Such a clean and well stocked store to look around, their staff are always very friendly and helpful, I like they have household and DIY, among their stock’ and prices are much more affordable. Their food is really good, and fresh fruits and meats are long lasting.

My daughter went with free coupons from…
My daughter leaves in Lünen, Germany, she went to her Lidl in Lünen with free coupons from a scratch card where she won some item.
When she got to the cashier with it, she was told to pay for the item that on the scratch card said it was free.
Never again trust that particular LIDL and their OFFERS!!!

Went today to the illingen lidl this…
Went today to the illingen lidl this afternoon. Was walking towards the meat isle when a team member saw where I was going push infront of me to work in the fridge. No sorry no excuse me. Totally disgusting. Then walking through the Isles she was not impressed that I I was coming up the isle and she had to wait with the empty metal roller basket. At the tills an old lady with glasses nearly tripped me as she was given an instruction from a manager to hang up a poster. Sorry just because their might be a store visit does in no way allow a person not to be polite. I have international experience ranging from south Africa, England, Wales and in Germany. We pay your wage and without us u would not be successful and loads would be with out jobs

Disrespectful Customer Service at Lidl…
Disrespectful Customer Service at Lidl Düren (Monschauer Straße 10)
I had a very disappointing experience at Lidl (Monschauer Straße 10, Düren, Germany)
After finishing my shopping, I politely asked the cashier for my receipt, which I need for tax purposes. However, he refused to provide it and spoke to me in a rude and condescending manner. Instead of simply handing me the receipt, he raised his voice and told me to wait elsewhere, saying “Do you understand me?” in a disrespectful tone.
As far as I know, providing a receipt is mandatory in Germany, and a purchase is not fully completed until the receipt is given.
Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. A bakery employee had previously yelled at me during another visit without any reason, which was equally shocking.
Customers deserve respect and professionalism, and this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I hope Lidl’s management takes appropriate action to improve customer service at this location. Otherwise, I will reconsider shopping at Lidl in the future.

Stores in Latvia
Stores Lidl in Latvia. As far as we know, employees undergo a certain selection process when hired, which is said to be stricter than in other store chains, at least in Latvia. But at the checkouts, these employees probably take revenge on customers for this. They think it's normal to be rude to customers! They don't think it's necessary to help, even if the problem is more related to the store, like the incorrect operation of the Lidl Plus application. As well as the fact that, despite the presence of several service checkouts, there is actually only one checkout that has huge queues! And self-service checkouts are created only for payment card users, as if cash has already been abolished. As a result, they are rarely used by customers. I would also like to note that, for example, no one ever washes shopping baskets. They have actually been used since they were purchased. As a result, they resemble a trash can that is not washed. And all this in a grocery store.
Brought a chainsaw for my dad in…
Brought a chainsaw for my dad in November 2024 unfortunately he fell ill so he hadn’t used it but because of his illness the chainsaw is too heavy for him. It is still in the box unused with a receipt Customer Service at Lidl would not give a refund because 28 days had expired I explained what had happened but to no avail so we’re stuck with a brand new item which we can’t use and they are still selling the same chainsaw in there stores

Visited Gloucester U.K
Visited Gloucester U.K. Lidel and was totally disgusted by the attitude of the staff. I hadn’t got a pound for the trolly , so I asked if they had any tokens for the trolly and they didn’t, I then asked if I could borrow a pound for the trolly. But the rude customer service staff member , said no and said I could pitch the pound, to which I explained I wouldn’t and they can ascote me out of the store once I’ve finished shopping and would hand it back to them. They said no.. so the £300 I would have spent there I went to Tesco instead… and I’ll never be using Lidels again and be advising all I know the same !!

I shop in Frederick
I shop in Frederick, MD in the US, and i have a good experience overall. the minor issues were promptly addressed by the staff, that is friendly. Love their bakery ! German bread is super, they have Pasteis De Nata sometimes which is a big bonus, and Portuguese rolls :)
delivery date postponed by 3 weeks with a very short notice
I made an order from lidl.de online shop 3 weeks ago, they did not give me any delivery date but it should have been delivered until 4th of June. On 3rd of June at 22pm, they sent me an email said that my delivery is postponed for another 3 weeks! How can i plan my whole life based on when you will have the lust to deliver my product? what are my options? nothing, i just have to be there when you bring my bed. This is ridiculous. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ONLINE SHOP!
Note 27.06.2024: i received the package 1.5 months after my order, and it is not the version i have ordered. If Lidl does not have any responsibility on this, i highly recommend you not to work with Emma any more because they are killing your reputation. Now i have to carry a 32-kg mattress to a DHL office to get my money back. Litterally my worst customer experience ever.

Never use this service!!
Never use this service!!! I placed my first order - 4 bottles of alcohol on the 10th April .I waited at home all day on the 15th for the delivery. The DPD driver claims he came and I refused delivery - I never saw or spoke to the driver, why would I refuse delivery?!?! Lidl puts it down as a return from me!! The package finally gets returned to the Lidl warehouse minus 1 bottle. I get a refund of €20 less as I am penalized for the delivery of €6 and the bottle that was stolen by either the driver or warehouse. Tons of emails sent by me go unanswered. People say it’s only €20 but it’s pure theft!!! DPD or Lidl?!?!

Grüß Gott
Grüß Gott! I write from Latvija. I don’t know, who is in duty for this, but please re-address my mail to the person who is responsible for decisions. All bananas are full of worms last months .It’s not just the problem of Lidl, alone, it’s probably all logistics problem. There are disgusting worms in bananas hundred percent. They are fresh looking just in the moment of purchase. When they are brought home, immediately they have spots dark spots, and in those spots there is that parasite. I have 888 eat now eat. I have ate some spoiled banana, and then I have severe BAUCHSCHMERZ.
