Le Grand Mekong Serviced Apartments, Phnom Penh
The management and ownership of LGM serviced apartment is Chinese.
Nothing against Chinese, but all fittings and hard ware items (door lock etc.) are of terrible quality and nobody cares. Our room was not ready on time, although they had plenty of time. But worse is yet to come.
a) The windows do not shut properly, so on a windy day hot air is blown into the room, pushing the electricity bill up (AC) like nothing! On rainy days, water comes in, adding to the moisture level, and again you need lots of A/C..
b) Out of 2 shower rooms (attached bathrooms), 1 was so smelly of fungus that we could not use is. Both showers do not produce hot water!
c) A construction behind the building begins every morning at 6:30, so you won't need an alarm clock.
d) $ 850 for a small 2 bedroom apartment is luxury in Phnom Penh, so one can expect a functioning room, ready on time. But it was a night mare for us. We got sick.
However, they refunded the not utilized advance rent to us, when we moved out suddenly, which is why we give them 2 stars.
