Like talking to a brick wall
Like talking to a brick wall. This company wants to go out of business as they make it very hard to do business with them. What for-profit organisation operates like this?! The shareholders should be worried.
Website is always down
Website is always down. Prices have gone up wat above inflation. Taking advantage of the current financial climate.
Poor communication and slow
Car was booked for a service through Lex. Take the car to the garage only for Lex to delay authorisation saying it had already been serviced recently either previous owner.
Eventually they authorise for the service light to be switched off, but then also state it needs an oil filter changed (which wasn’t communicated when I rang them)which has delayed me further.
The one stars is for the lady I spoke to on the phone who was polite enough, just everything else let them down
I'd seen all the endless negative reviews...
I'd seen all the endless negative reviews on here and wondered how the company was legally still standing. Regardless, I took out a 4 year vehicle lease.
Changing the number plate over was no issue and Lex were very helpful, if not a little slower than I'd have liked. Getting in touch with them is harder than it's made out to be.
Anyway, at the beginning of the fourth year, I decided to early return the vehicle. I'd kept it in immaculate condition. The returns process wasn't smooth (not Lex's fault but rather their chosen collection company) but they were incredibly reasonable about fair wear and tear. No issues there.
So, all in all, apart from being a little hard to contact or get a timely response from sometimes, I can't really fault them and I would use them again. Look after your vehicle and they'll look after you.
If the option was to give a zero rating…
If the option was to give a zero rating for this organisation I would. They should consider themselves very privileged to be given a one star rating. They have booked an appoinment with me to collect vehicle. Don't turn up on the day of appoinment, then call me out of the blue the next day to inform me that they will collect the vehicle today without any notice. They think people have nothing better to do then wait at home for them to organise a collection when it suits them. I informed the driver I was at work so would not be in for collection and was not informed of appoinment, so what do they do???? They send me a bill for missed collection of vehicle of £150. Then make another appointment with me and I take leave from work again and guess what they once again do not turn up. Their ignorance is only matched by their incompetence.
Completely unreasonable
My Kia EV6 leased by Lex Auto has a battery fault and I have now been waiting for 11 months for it to be fixed. My lease is finishing this month and Lex are going to continue charging the monthly fee until the vehicle is fixed as it “states in the contract” that the car needs to be returned fixed. Surely their complaint managers can exercise some common decency in this circumstance and not keep me trapped. Kia sold them the vehicle and it is a fault under warranty so why do I need to be involved after my contract. My car is sat at my local Kia garage (waiting to go to the only specialist centre where Kia can fix electric batteries) so I don’t think it’s unreasonable that I can hand my car over to Lex and they take it from there. Absolute madness!
Avoid Lex Auto Lease at all costs!
Extremely rude staff when speaking to them on the phone to report an issue with the vehicle. Offered no help whatsoever to get a few issues resolved a week or so after delivery, I was told to raise a complaint if I wasn't happy with the service I received or wanted to get my issues sorted out. Poor communication and customer service! The Electric Car Scheme use this company when leasing a car through them so be very wary...
Be very careful with this lot
Be very careful with this lot. They just tried charging me for 20000 miles I hadn't done and are continually trying to charge me for the vehicle for weeks after the rental ended, because their logistics partner didn't turn up, twice, to collect it. Absolute shambles of a company, although customer services do at least try to be helpful when you get through.
Very disappointing
Very disappointing. I complained about very poor customer service - no communication at all. Lex Autolease chose to not deal with the problem and chose to focus on a warranty issue. Glad I have terminated my lease.
Total rip off for early termination and…
Total rip off for early termination and what they consider damage.
Corporate Thieves
Simply the worst company to deal with.
Stole £75 out my bank account for a fine that related to a big yellow van rather than the small car I leased. Claimed it was my responsibility to challenge the ticket issued, when they, as the registered keeper, should have looked at the photo provided by the council and realised it wasn’t their car (never mind the one I had leased). The argument they hid behind was my contract says I am responsible to pay for fines associated with my car, so despite this clearly not being the car I leased, they paid the fine and took money out my account, unauthorised, to cover their cost. Lex Leasing sees fit to be Judge, Jury , and executioner in a manner which belies belief. In short, a corrupt company with corrupt practices, as their incompetent Customer Complaint Department confirmed.
AVOID at all costs. We DO NOT recommend.
PLEASE read all reviews before using Lex Autolease.
They are NOT what they claim to be. Do not expect good service, do not expect assistance, READ the fine print!
If you have an issue with the car YOU pay, you will be told its THEIRS and there's nothing you can do.
READ the fine print, do not trust Lex Autolease it will cost more than you can think. Look elsewhere. They are not cheap, they are not good, be careful.
Regret guaranteed.
I rang to arrange to re-tax my car…
I rang to arrange to re-tax my car before the £195 tax. It should have been easy to do but they are not bothering. The person on the phone could not say why but clearly lots of angry customers. You had the chance to be proactive and look after clients but instead you did not bother. Put a complaint in a few weeks ago and had a text today saying you are still looking into it. Not much to look into really so I assume you have loads of complaints about the same thing. Is no one running the company, you are useless and cost me £195
1-Star Review
1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointed with Lex Auto Lease
I am extremely disappointed with Lex Auto Lease and their lack of customer care. As an electric vehicle (EV) lease customer, I recently requested that they renew my road tax before the upcoming government rule change, which would have saved me hundreds of pounds. This was a simple request that required minimal effort on their part, yet they flatly refused without providing a valid reason.
Lex Auto Lease, as the registered keeper of the vehicle, has full control over when the tax is renewed, and many other leasing companies are honoring similar requests. Their refusal is completely unreasonable and shows a total disregard for their customers' financial well-being. Instead of taking an easy step to help a loyal customer, they chose to do nothing, forcing me to pay an avoidable extra cost.
This experience has highlighted their poor customer service and lack of flexibility when it truly matters. If you're considering leasing with Lex Auto Lease, I strongly advise you to think twice—they are more than happy to take your money but unwilling to take even the smallest steps to support their customers when needed.
I have raised a complaint with them, but their response has been dismissive. I will be escalating this to the BVRLA and Financial Ombudsman. I would never lease from them again and would not recommend them to anyone looking for a fair and customer-focused leasing provider.
🚨 Avoid Lex Auto Lease if you want a company that actually cares about its customers! 🚨
Needlessly making me pay VED
I leased an EV from Lex Autolease on a three year lease starting September 2022.
I recently got an email from them to inform me that due to changes in VED, they will be charging me for road tax when it becomes due. I highlighted to them that if they renewed the tax now before the deadline, it would be free for another year, and that therefore there should be no VED payable for the remainder of my lease and for some months beyond that.
Despite pretending to empathise with my situation, they claimed it's "company policy" not to renew VED early. They then referred me to their complaints department, who then said they'd take up to 8 weeks to respond to me.
The thing about company policies is that they're written by the company themselves. There's absolutely no need for them to stick to this policy, and they could choose to demonstrate excellent customer service by behaving otherwise.
Why would I choose to trust an organisation that chooses to treat their customers with such contempt? They're getting the 1 star review they deserve. I'm willing to change this review if Lex Autolease reconsider their unreasonable stance that I believe is also in breach of contract - after all, this VED doesn't have to be payable.
No thought for Customers
If I could give zero I would. New tax for EVs comes in on 1st April but you can tax them now and get it free for another 12 months, so why not look after your customers and offer that service, even for an admin fee say £10 BUT No, Policy says no, they then will charge you VAT which you would not pay if you taxed it yourself. They do not have a policy for new tax banding from the Government even though all they said was "Thats not our Policy!' Wow, no wonder they are 1.7, just after themselves and to make money no thought for any customers. DO NOT USE THEM
Never will I ever use LexAutolease again.
Never will I ever lease a car from LexAutolease again.
At every turn they try to extract money from you. They are inflexible, give lip service about helping customers but when it comes down to it they don't care. Admin fees and hidden costs everywhere. AVOID
I've made the mistake into entering…
I've made the mistake into entering into a contact with Lex Autolease.
The contracts are so ambiguous and contradictory.
Just advising people to ensure they fully understand the contracts before signing up as they are rigid and have no sense of personal circumstances.
Never again, avoid at all costs
Really poor service
Really poor service. Called in today because my vehicle of 18 months broke down.
Was told they couldn’t help me and to ‘google’ the car manufacturer and see if anything came up so I could contact them instead.
I got the feeling the agent couldn’t care less and just wanted me off the line.
Getting one star because I can't give…
Getting one star because I can't give zero. Work van breaks down in Europe. Get it recovered and repaired. Lex say that I must pay the €500 and "may" be able to claim it back. Three more hours of phone calls and emails and it turns out they can pay the bill. Customer service shocking.
