Very poor delivery service.
Bought a couple of barstools online from Lakeland, ordered them on Sunday and paid for next day delivery, I didn’t expect Monday as I ordered on a Sunday. I didn’t expect Tuesday.
I took 10 hours annual leave so I could be in on Tuesday to take delivery of the stools, which are a Christmas gift.
Tuesday morning I received a text and email from DPD, the couriers Lakeland are using, telling me that they were sorry, couldn’t deliver today(Tuesday) but would hopefully be able to deliver tomorrow (Wednesday)?
Not next day delivery, I’ve now wasted 20 hours annual leave, I’m now trying to get a family member to be at my house tomorrow to wait for delivery.
Lakeland’s response, basically, refund the next day delivery fee and it’s not our problem it’s the couriers problem. Wow, the courier they use.
I will not be using Lakeland again, thought I’d give you a wee heads-up.
Here is an update:
My bar stools arrived today, order no. 000060433 and the burnt orange bar stool seat is damaged, a rather ugly tear on the front of the fabric.
I emailed their support team, with images, they have come back to me, asking, and I can’t believe this, if I could just keep it as it is and they will refund me £20, I mean WOW.
I have clearly refused this and asked for a replacement, awaiting their reply.

Comfortable and easy to assemble
Delivered in timely manner and quite easy to assemble. Some force required to squeeze the seat and back parts together to line the screw holes up with the frame.

Very honest and friendly company to…
Very honest and friendly company to deal with. Unfortunately, buying furniture online is quite difficult when you haven’t seen and touched it. The chair I ordered was unsuitable when it arrived and I wanted to return it. It’s perfectly reasonable that the company expect return post to be borne by the customer as after all, they have absorbed the initial delivery cost.
I returned my chair using Royal mail parcel force and the day after it arrived back with the retailer I received a full refund. You can’t reasonably ask for better service. In all my communications with them, I received speedy and polite responses.
Thank you to all the team at Lakeland and a special thanks to Helen for her kindness.

Great bar stools
We needed new bar stools for the kitchen and wanted ones with back rests and arms which is quite hard to find, but these were perfect. The back rests and arms are not as tall as they look on the website which is what we would have preferred. But nothing wrong with the function of the chairs.

Great product and service

All round good experience
All round good experience. Delivery was very clear and arrived on time. We had a small issue with one of the chairs being slightly scuffed but everything was very easily and quickly sorted out with customer services who were great. The products are perfect for our kitchen - very pleased. Particulary liked the refreshing customer service response - a real human!
