Krogers store, Huntington, Indiana, A good store that could use some improvement.

....The Krogers store in Huntington,Indiana is a good store that needs some improvement.
...This store can use some supervision once and a while, as well.
..The store is clean, the products are of good quality, just need to end the digital coupons and more transparency for customers.
....Most of the employees are very good, with the exception of two; A elderly lady who has been working for Krogers for about 11 years, who is nasty and does nothing, refuses to serve customers. The other employee is "Danielle", who is very nasty, useless and creates a hostile environment for customers.
...That being said, I appreciate the Kroger discount fuel !
And I really like the store, However, the Kroger company, or employees have removed /deleted many truthful Google reviews.

FALSE ADVERTISING AND WORSE!

I went to Kroger on Saturday morning specifically to purchase several choice steaks Kroger had advertised for the week. When I arrived, I saw that the price was $1 more per pound than advertised. No big deal, except that they didn’t have any of the steaks that were advertised. When I inquired about the steaks, an employee in the department said that the steaks would be out “later.” When I asked about price, he replied that he wasn’t in charge of pricing.
I left and did what I should have done to begin with…went straight to HEB. Lesson learned.
Kroger wonders why HEB is crushing them. Experiences like this are exactly why.

Horrible

Horrible. I have not had an experience with someone so rude in years. Latisha in the front end was the rudest least professional person I have ever encountered. I went to the self checkout to purchase some clothing and a hat, a mens hat. In the location that we grabbed it from is a sign, 30% off Mens Hats. It doesn't ring up on sale, the cashier that was working the self checkouts was so kind and great, but she called over Latisha, and Latisha says "Carhart isn't included" I said it says mens hats, and showed her the photo we took of the sign, she says Carhart is never included, I know that is my dept. I said well if that is true the sign is right there, why does the sign not state there is exclusions? She says the sign is correct. So she walks with me, it is right down the aisle, I show her that the hats are right there with the sign, I will post the photo here, she says see its these not those, I said maybe you should consider moving the section that is included away from the section that isn't. She said " The sign is exactly where is should be" I am quoting her. So we go back to the checkout and she went onto help another cashier, I already rung up the hat thought it was in the bag, I guess the cashier had given it to Latisha. So I go over to her, she is helping some cashier and the cashier sees that I need to speak with her and she also has and attitude and asks if she can help. I said I need to speak with her as I think she has the hat I purchased. Latisha said she put it back and I said I didn't want it. I said I never said I didn't want it, she then snaps back again and says "you SAID you didn't WANT it" I said "Latisha, I didn't say I didn't want it" and went off to go get it again! She says " don't yell at me" LOL. First of all I didn't raise my voice, she just didn't like that someone matched her energy. I am not a pushover and I don't like being treated like crap when I am spending money somewhere for YEARS that employees people like this. Save you money, save your hassle and head over to HEB, I am so glad they are building a new one across the street cause this was ridiculous. Have the day you deserve Latisha.

Had a TERRIBLE experience at the…

Had a TERRIBLE experience at the pharmacy. RUDE pharmacist. They were ignoring the drive thru with an OPEN sign, so I came inside after waiting for several minutes. When I came inside, there is NO ONE in line, they ARE NOT busy, and there are FOUR people standing around, so I still don't know why they were ignoring the drive thru. They looked at me at the counter and wouldn't acknowledge me until I asked them if they work there. It was bizarre. The tech then proceeds to be rude AF and refuses to acknowledge I am complaining about the drive thru and the treatment at the counter. She just pretends I am not speaking. I told her where she could go on the way out. Mind you, 3 other people are watching all of this and one of them is the PHARMACIST who does nothing to rectify the situation. I then called the pharmacy when got home to complain, and the PHARMACIST "Christine" (no last name because she refused to identify herself because I guess she is hiding something), was ALSO RUDE and would not take responsibility for the poor service, would not apologize, would not confirm she was in charge, would not identify her supervisor, would not provide a number to Kroger corporate etc. etc. She also intentionally misgendered me several times on the phone (referring to me as a mam when I repeatedly told her I am a sir), which is straight up BIGOTRY and gross coming from a PHARMACIST and THEN she HUNG UP ON ME. Is this what passes for professionalism at Kroger pharmacy? Atrocious. Go to literally any other pharmacy.

Dangerous food at Kroger

They sell food that is dangerous to eat but hold no accountable for the damage they inflict on the public. I bought some Chinese food at their deli which had a rock in it which damaged my tooth and they said it's not there fault

Normally I love Kroger, but .

Normally I love Kroger and it's employees but it's management is seriously screwed up! I had ordered a pick up and waited 4 hours for them to retrieve a simple case of beer and because they have rules for online orders you have to pay $4.95 fee for any order under $30 bucks and so we ordered a few other things and then when we arrived they told us our case of beer was canceled for some unknown reason and they just wanted to give us a bunch of stuff we didn't really need or want and charge us a bunch of those fees... Long story short a very nice guy tried to help me adjust the order but wasn't allowed to and when trying to just do a whole new order and correct it then was also unavailable because of a very intentional corrupt web design. After 30 minutes and having to also wait for the pickup after they had sent a message saying it was ready I had to sit there with my dogs in the car and barley any gas in the car for a good 20 minutes before this man even started trying to help us. Then after realizing he was the e-commerce manager and the system was very intentionally jacked up he was kind enough to talk to me and try to make it right. He simply went in the store and gave me what I had ordered and said he was going to adjust the ticket.

Well the ticket never got adjusted and I got a free case of beer that I wanted to pay for and they fired him and subsequently, because I shop there every day, the staff had been put on alert to hate on me.

The following day pick up order was met with a woman refusing to give me my order because the management had flagged me for the incident and there was no reason for that and obviously can't refuse me service just because your management is lacking but then the next day after that I went into the store and was forced to stand there for 5 minutes awaiting an id check while the clerk talked to her friends and then before even getting within 5 feet of me she mumbles I'm going to refuse your sale because I smell alcohol on your breath, which is so not accurate because I had not been drinking and it was a direct assault on me personally from Atoka Kroger management. She asked if I wanted to speak to a manager and of course I said yes . While she left me standing there another clerk came up and apologized for the inappropriate behavior and checked me out..

Man Kroger management needs to be replaced . I'm gonna shop Aldi and Walmart from now on. Totally horrible that the only grocery store in my town has a staff that I know and am friends with that totally hates me now..

That dude that got fired was one of their best employees. I'm so disappointed in Kroger and they won't be getting my daily shopping much longer

Confusing Receipts and In-store Promotions

The way Kroger's receipts are organized can be confusing! We purchased several Proctor & Gamble products to get the 'buy two - get $5 off each' and to also take advantage of other dollar-off deals on P&G products. When we looked at our receipt, we noticed that on lines beneath some of our P&G product purchases, it showed "$1 off" but that the one-dollar deductions didn't line up to the items that should have had $5 off! So, I called the store to explain what happened and the customer service clerk was very helpful and said to bring back the receipt next time in the store and that they will take care of it! That kind of friendly attention to the matter is much appreciated! However, there was also some musing on his part about whether there might have been a limit on the number of items that could be purchased for the promotion. If so, there certainly wasn't any signage indicating that policy. Furthermore, I didn't purchase any duplicate products to claim the $5 off part of the promotion. (Sometimes duplicate items are disqualified when using a coupon or promo.) Curious about whether that was indeed the policy (to limit the total number of items per customer in the P&G promo) I called their customer service number and was happy to find that they were working on a Saturday! However, I was put on hold and while I was waiting a rather long time, I very carefully examined the receipt again. Yes... only $1 deductions next to certain items and no $5 deductions shown. However, when I looked at the very bottom of the receipt, before the total, there is a $10 deduction, but with no explanation! We just assume that is the savings from the P&G promo for the two most expensive items. I also noticed on the receipt something a bit odd. The font for the phrase "You saved..." with the dollar amount is in a BIGGER bold font than the total spent in the transaction!
Kroger needs to improve the clarity and precision of their transaction receipts!

Ok grocery stores

Krogers owns several grocery chains, including Fry’s. My Fry’s is ok in terms of price, quality, choice, service and cleanliness. The company could improve its rating by improving the mentioned parameters.

Here is my reply on June 2nd, 2025:

I’ll do my best to explain what happened and what needs to be done. Please understand what happened may not appear to be an error. However, one did occur.

On Fri Mar 21 2025 09:25 AM I picked up my prescription (no cost) and my mother-in-law's ($0.75). As you can see by the attachments, they made a mistake and charged my card to pay for her prescription. That mistake caused her card on file to be changed to my card. We didn’t know that had happened until Mon Apr 07 2025 08:35 AM when my card was charged $113.13 for her eliquis. By examining the 4 screenshots, you can see her prescriptions were paid by my card.

All that needs to be done is to delete the canceled card ending in xxxx from Mxxx xxxxxx’s pharmacy account. FYI, there is a disconnect from the account online and the one at the Dillon’s pharmacy. All attempts to update the account have failed, including closing her account and then recreating the account.

Problem still exists with no communication from Kroger.

LOL go figure how bad it is

LOL, when does anything go right at the landings at cedar bluff in Knoxville. First thing is their refilling 90 day prescriptions at 60 days, then for a controlled substance if it's out of stock for say 6 days they don;t care and don't make up the days. Then you look at the fresh veggies, lol after their night crew cleans the up., this from an illegal alien that works there to avoid the health inspectors for infected veggies with bugs, meat department lol they joke about cleaning off the maggots so they can sell meats.

Juju from the Kroger Pickup in Castle…

Juju from the Kroger Pickup in Castle Hills in Colony TX is rude everytime I pick up groceries. Today he yelled at me for not opening the passenger window because he was too lazy to walk around to the driver side. He had plenty of time to argue with me about it even though he kept going in and out of Kroger and I didn't know he was even waiting on me. The pick up staff and the cashiers are very disrespectul to the customers. I plan to start driving over to the HEB in Plano.

Bait and switch pricing

I placed an order today it came to $56.51 when picked up it was $73.57 That's an added $17.06 and was not able to return items was not told why it was so much more. NOT using this service again. Trash bait and switch. I didn't get anything extra with that amount. 1 item was out of stock and I still got charged $17.06 extra. Now i have to call them and sit on the phone for who knows how long to figure out WHY! Waste of time using this service.

I’m very upset with the Kroger egg noodles!!! I cooked my chicken noodle soup all day long in the crockpot and then for the last 30 minutes, I added the egg noodles to the Mixture like the directions said, and as soon as I put them into the chicken broth, they melted and left all dough no noodles! I’m very disgusted. I had to throw my dinner away because it was all doughy!!!

Can’t make this crap up

I don’t like someone picking and delivering my groceries. A pinched spinal cord and rheumatoid arthritis makes it so I have to sometimes. So, I order and pay first my groceries online. Lets say it totaled $110.00. I received 2 texts simultaneously. The first was “I substituted this soda for that” and the second (at the same time) “I’ve finished the order and on my way”. As soon as I seen the texts I get another notification from my bank. Kroger’s charged my card $12.78. I called Krogers support immediately as I don’t live far from the store and was explaining the situation as my shopper pulled in with the groceries. She over heard part of my conversation about being charged $12.78 extra. She said “oh, that might have been me. They were out of stock on your 24 pack of Dr. Pepper (on sale $10.99) so I got this twelve pack for you and scanned it on the way out”. Dumbstruck, I asked “so the twelve pack was $12.78? She said “I dont know I just scanned it through”. So I said “do you shop for yourself this way”? “ I ordered 2 24 packs of soda for $10.99 each, you said they didn’t have one case, did they have the Pepsi 24 pack? “Oh yeah I have it right here”. “Okay, why would you substitute a 12 pack that is $2 dollars more than a case” and then charge me for both”? “Oh, that’s what I always do”? The Kroger support lady said cancel the order and send them all back. I did. Tomorrow will be a week and I’m still calling and asking where my refund is. Kroger support emailed a letter stating they were going to refund my money on Thursday but here I sit, hungry. And they’re oh so sorry that this happened to a valued customer. I think we all know any one of us can send money around the world, let’s give Kroger’s the benefit of the doubt and say 5 minutes (30-60 seconds). And here I sit, hungry.

Charged for items not received

This review refers to deliveries by Kroger online in Madison, TN (not Instacart) -

I used to order from Kroger online without issues. I stopped and used Prime for some years, but was experiencing issues with expired produce. Decided to try Kroger online again. Worst decision and so much worse than Prime. Out of my two recent Kroger online orders, I experienced the following issues: Order 1 - charged for over $50 worth of items that I did not receive / Order 2: charged for $28.95 worth of items that I did not receive.

Trying to obtain a refund was a time consuming, frustrating ordeal on both occasions. Since it is not easy to prove that items were not received, requesting a refund for such large amounts potentially makes me look questionable. Customer service kept me on hold for abnormal lengths of time, deliberately I think. I felt they may not have believed me. I do not appreciate being put in this position.

I will be shopping in store at Kroger for small items only in future. I won't be using Kroger online delivery services again.
