What on earth has happened to this…

What on earth has happened to this place? It used to be a treat to visit and we'd always spend lots more than we intended on the nice things to eat and drink.

We drove out (30 mile round trip) this last week as a birthday treat for my wife as she loves to browse the goodies. All the good stuff including cakes, breads, herbs, sweets, fresh veg, huge deli selection etc etc had vanished. What they had was overpriced and not especially fresh - eg soggy baguette for nearly £3. The staff used to be an excellent part of the experience - jolly and welcoming - even that was missing this time.

Instead of spending 50-100 on nice treats for a birthday we spent about 10 on overpriced yoghurt and a yellow pepper.

The cafe was absolutely deserted - when we used to go pre-covid you always had to wait to be seated.

We won't be trailing out here again - so disappointing.

Discovered this as we toured the area

Discovered this as we toured the area. Delighted with the variety, quality and most of all the service. Lovely and helpful staff. Got to try an excellent sausage roll when I mentioned I had read about them but had never had one! Loved the bakery goods.

Ridiculous prices!

used to shop here occasionally even though it was a bit pricier than supermarkets, but now it's just ridiculous! Their vegetables are priced by the 100grams! So a bank of bog-standard potatoes has the price listed as 17p per 100grams. Is this just to confuse mathematically inept punters, or is it a calculated ploy to confuse? The leeks were actually £3.50 per kilogram (which is dear) but are listed as 35p per 100g. There was no price on the sprouting broccoli, so I asked a staff member, who went off and came back to tell me a "per 100grams " price, which equated to an astounding price of about £17 per kilo. Lovely looking muffins in the "coffee shop" area were £4.35 each! For one muffin!. I don't know who shops regularly here, but they must be in the 1% of Skiptonites for whom money and prices are immaterial.

Disgusting greasy breakfast.bacon cooked in advance so like leather. Undercooked sausage. Hard greasy egg. Sourdough toast was old and covered in some kind of cheap margarine. Mushroom and egg swimming in grease. Weak tea. Like gnats pee.
Horrible very expensive experience

Avoid going to this place

Despite holding loyalty card at cost of £10.00, they have now decided to scrap the card, refuse to abide by the terms of the card I.e. offer benefits and not even bother communicating the fact.
This place has gone down hill since they renamed to Keelham food hall.
Prices gone up, stock not as good and clearly service deplorable.

Nothing like it was sadly

Used to absolutely love the farm shop, but now it's got new owners they clearly have no idea. Its no longer a farm shop for locals, its a tourist shop with very high priced branded produce. Staff think the same and say locals are constantly telling the staff it's not like it was and its so disappointing. I only go occasionally now, have a bite in the cafe and buy a couple of treats. Nobody has trollies or baskets full any more at the cash out, usually just the odd few bits. Very sad it has come to this. Hope the owners listen to reviews and criticism but they probably won't and don't care. Shame

Popped in for some lunch and to get a few bits and pieces of shopping. The menu has been updated... usual high quality food and service. The steak and blue cheese sandwich was well received. The whole store seems to have been moved around. I love the refil station for household items. The produce is well priced and really good quality. A worthwhile visit as usual :)

I purchased two slices of Gala pork pie, one slice was satisfactory with correct amount of pork, egg and pasty. The other was the end of the pie mostly pastry which did not show at the point of puchase. This is no good I shall not buy any more. The ends should be disguarded and not offered for sale.

Really gone down hill

Really gone down hill!
Such a shame, used to love a stop at the Skipton Keelhams but it’s really lost it’s charm.
Everything is so overpriced all of a sudden. £3.48 for a small one person frangipani which struck me as very overpriced. The cakes used to be amazing but now all they have is dry almond slices and brownies.
So much space taken over by the flower shop which again are overpriced for the quality. Having gotten flowers in the past from there which only last a couple days.
And what’s with the section at the back full of cheap seasonal tat?
So disappointing and won’t be shopping anymore at this place. Used to be lovely but it’s just a real let down these days.

Sausages!

Sausage and mash is the only meal my young family will all eat. I therefore always buy high quality sausages.

I trailed to Keelham Farm Shop 26.9.20 in the assumption that they would sell said items.

However, we found them to be grainy, dry and tasteless. I would compare them to a cheap supermarket sausage. They had the consistency of vegetarian meat free product.

Really disappointing. I emailed to complain but other than an automated email back promising a response, I have heard nothing.

Their facilities are most definitely first class (and the shops very busy meaning the vast majority of people must be very happy) but I would have expected that a “standard everyday product” such as sausages would have been much better.

Whilst not exactly an exciting subject, I hope you find the feedback helpful.

PS, their pies are very good.
