The most incompetent people are working for ING. I had an issue with my CC, their fault. I had to call n times, telling the same story all the time. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!!! SERVICES ARE SHIT!!!!

I would not recommend ING. The service is below par, follow-up shows little willingness to actually resolve issues, and the overall attitude is rigid and unhelpful.
My credit card was blocked back in September, and since then ING claims to have sent four replacement cards, none of which ever arrived. From the beginning, I pointed out that something was clearly going wrong during shipping and requested to collect the card at a branch. This reasonable alternative was dismissed as “not in line with their rules,” and they simply repeated the same ineffective process without offering any solution.
Three months later, I still have no credit card. No effort, no flexibility, and a surprising lack of common sense have left me completely stuck. Friends have advised us to switch to KBC, and at this point we are seriously considering it.

Just like the other people say, i had the exact same issues. Tried to contact them for years, through all phone numbers, emails and forms I could find. They don’t answer emails. On phone they are being rude and can’t help with the most basic things either. They requested same information from me over and over again, which I provided them repeatedly and nothing been done for years. Then they said that they are closing my account out of nowhere and asked to provide them a bank account to make a transfer of my money to, which I did and again, nothing. No reply, no transfer. It’s been years ago and I am still receiving post mails saying that they are going to charge money for non-residents now. Also my account was originally on a %, but they said that it wasn’t. Impossible to contact them or use my founds. Stay away from that bank!

ING is one of the least responsive banks I have ever dealt with. They repeatedly failed to reply to my emails, even when I followed up multiple times and called customer service. Instead of solving anything, they left me without clear answers and suddenly closed my banking relationship with almost no notice. I only discovered the situation by chance when my account stopped working. The lack of communication is shocking and unacceptable. If you need a bank that values customer service or basic transparency, look elsewhere.

The service was fast and impeccable at their branch in Mechelen Noord. The lady at reception fixed my banking app, updated my ID details and fixed my it's me account in 10 min. Lovely person who knows what she is doing 🤗

As a professional with experience in evaluating customer service, I find the level of support provided by ING deeply concerning — particularly for a business account.
Key service principles have been repeatedly disregarded:
– No consistency in service language, despite account preferences
– Lack of clear, actionable instructions in critical communications
– Use of incomplete message templates (e.g. placeholders like "CSD9…")
– No personal salutation in direct correspondence
– Unstructured requests, forcing the client to search for information the bank should provide
– Inefficient follow-ups resulting in significant time loss
These are not isolated issues, but systemic failures that indicate serious gaps in quality control and customer care culture. I would not recommend ING to any business that values time efficiency, professionalism, or responsive support.
I wish I could give zero stars. ING is the most obnoxious and disgusting bank in Belgium. ING decided to block my account without a valid reason. Added additional charges that were not in my contract. In addition my credit card was also blocked and I’m forced to repay full amount owed at once instead of installments as it’s written in the contract. It is not a large amount, yet I was not given an option to decide for my self how I’d like to proceed. I strongly advise everyone to avoid ING at all costs and find a different bank. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this disgusting bank at all costs!
Hello, since December 2024 , they asked me to close account, I said no problem send me all necessary documents, they did I signed then send it back .no reply no news I reached them they give me an appointment on January 31 2025 , I flight to Brussels and sign again all necessary documents with Stéphanie plus, she promised to send my transfer my money in 10 days . Since now March 21/ 2025 I haven't received anything nor even reply to my 100 emails or phone calls. Please I would like to understand. What kind of bank treat their clients this way / they're the one who asked me too , to close account . Please ASAP I need an explanation
I had about €50 in my Private account and €260 in my savings account. Out of the blue, ING.BE decided to start charging €100 per year for non-residents. This put my private account in negative territory. Once I saw that, I transferred €200 to my Private account to put it back in positive territory. Then, to add insult to injury, they charged €14.37 to my Private account for an unauthorised overdraft reminder. So, they have basically blown my pension for the month in fees. I'm looking at alternatives because this bank is just unbelievable.
I have been with ING in Brussels since over 20 years. At first they closed down my branch in the centre, then they closed down my home branch close to my former home in Saint Gilles, then they closed down the branch close to my home in Par V Saint-Gilles, then more recently they closed down my bank in Louise, and then main bank at Troon had been under renovations/construction. I have been running around constantly anytime I want to make a cash deposit trying to find a branch that is open, often have to travel miles, to be disappointed. Absolutely sick of it. And the last time I made an in person appointment with them, they did not register my appointment. I lost half a days work for nothing. Highly considering closing my account and seeking a more consistent and reliable accessible bank. The only good thing I can say is their online banking via mobile has worked well and I have never had issues with it.
Horrible services and inexplicable hidden costs that you have never agreed to.
I left Belgium a decade ago and I made the mistake, following the bank's advice, to keep my ING account open.
I have long lost access to my account because I no longer have a Belgian mobile number (their app only seems to work with Belgian one, despite their international clientelle in Brussels!) and the identifier machine is no longer working. I am trying to reach them by phone, and the line gets cut or doesn't go through more than half of the times when calling from abroad (within the EU). Despite the fact that every end of the year I receive notification for tax purposes that my balance in the last few years is 0, all of a sudden I received a letter earlier this year that I am at default (around 600 euros, they wouldn't even tell me the exact amount, even though I went through the process of identification over the phone). It turns out they charged me some kind of insurance that I never gave my consent to, they wouldn't give me more information, referred me to another number that is not working, and I was warned that if I didn't pay I would be blacklisted in Belgium and pay high fines. Even though I am strongly contesting all this I transferred some money into my account to avoid further torture and I am now trying to close the account but I am not even able to do that!
My work takes me around the world but nowhere else have I had such a bad experience as with ING in Belgium.
Horrible, horrible and abusive service, never again ING anywhere in the world and I will report them to consumer protection once I get rid of them.
It would give them zero stars if this option existed.
Not only I couldn't do any money transfers for 3 months without any solution from their customer services but they just blocked my card for no reason and didn't even warn me. I cannot use the card no withdraw cash for 3 days because their banks are only open in the morning and not on weekends so I have no money until Monday. It's a criminally incompetent service they provide with your money.
Always problems with them when try to withdraw my Star Fund (my money not theis).
Min 1 week delays, the bank use your money at their will!!!
Terribly disappointed with ING expat services. For a bank that advertises itself as serving the expat community in Belgium there is a lot to be desired. I applied online for opening a bank account as I started my position in the EU institutions. After uploading documents, exchanging emails, telephone conversations providing more documents, signing forms, after 3 weeks of radio silence, I eventually reached out myself to enquire on the state of play of my application. As I have in the interim received the BE residency card, I also attached it to the email hoping this will speed up the procedure. To my complete surprise, the ING expat team informed me they cannot open the bank account and as a BE resident I should apply on their website…again. Needless to say, I will not go anywhere closer to an ING branch in BE. I am pretty sure there are plenty financial institutions happy to have me as their client. A long story short, if you can avoid it, do yourself a favour and try elsewhere. It will save you time and nerves.
Make a complaint to get charges refunded you get no communication and it takes months to do it.Ask for a credit card and they promise within 5 days an answer and nothing.Go into the app the chat messages in the app either they are rude or no answer at all.
Charge you to run a basic current account !
A bad and slow uncaring uninterested bank.
Worst banking exprience ever
Stay away of this bank! Specially if you are an expat. Getting a simple service out of them is impossible.
I am co owning an account with my dad who resides in Belgium. I live abroad and moved to a new place two years ago, they failed sending me my new card hence I have not been able to check our Home Banking. Due to some issues with my aging dad’s health I have been trying desperately to get a new card. I sent all necessary documents even went in person during a visit in Belgium a month and a half ago gave again copies of all the paperwork and talked with a manager who said I would get my card within 10 days. We are almost mid September and after three emails reminders with no response I am about ready to close this account during my next visit and go to another bank. Really appalling. I work in Customer services myself and have never seen such a disdain for customers

since 2 time I have fraud and miss used my card the bank didn’t refund money after several call until now,
