I didn't know you could take out separate insurance and not have to pay over the odds via the rental company.

Cheating business practice
You accepted our payment of £38.44 to cover unexpected insurance claims on our hire car taken out with Holiday Autos July 19-29th. The car they supplied was from 'greenmotion' Corfu. The car suffered minor damage at some point when parked that they charged 607.82 euros. We submitted our claim on 31st August. You now claim that you emailed me on 3rd August declining the claim as "you don't cover greenmotion"!!! This email was never received despite subsequent ones from you offering to insure us on subsequent trips. This is clearly a case of extremely dubious business tactics and we will be sending details to the Insurance Ombudsman

Easy and a no brainer
Easy simple to understand. No quibble when making a claim a few years ago. Much cheaper for a year than hire car companies for one hire period.

I phoned up on Fridayto cancel because you couldn’t insure for a campervan . I was told by your operator I would receive an email shortly confirming the cancellation and it never arrived the insurance goes active on Monday and I am now concerned about my refund. If a business says they are going to do something, it should happen I have also emailed to explain all this and got an email saying your are really busy.
I originally did a search for a campervan rental excess insurance and your company came up. I hope you will put this right.

100% Confident with iCar
I’ve been with iCar for several years now, although I’ve never needed to claim, I do feel confident that all would be fine if a claim did come up.
Their information is very clear and easily understood – many hire companies near enough insist that you take out their excess cover at the counter, making out that you’ll be up the creek without a paddle otherwise… I listen to them politely and then tell them that I’ll be just fine with my iCar policy.
I don’t have autorenewal set up, so every year I receive a gentle reminder via email that the renewal date is coming up, other than that, I receive little to no other mail from them.
This year, my renewal was down by a fiver, brilliant.
Excellent service, great to deal with.
