Excellent service - Hunts seemed to be the only office furniture company which offered a "try before you buy" service, which we did on a visit to their showroom. The chair itself (Series 1) was available in a wide range of colours, is a vast improvement on our previous desk chair and was very good value (bought during the "Black Friday" promotion).

Chair was delivery within a reason time and of top quality. Good communication regarding when item would be delivered.

I was able to visit the showroom and try out the products. The booking process was straightforward. The visit was lovely. Aimee was able to answer my questions and provide advice.
The order was made via a website, I was kept up to date ( I had a custom order made), and delivery was on time - fully assembled. Very lovely chair!

Overall, if you are after a steelcase chair, I would really encourage you to get Hunts office support with advice, and selection.

Karmen Steelcase Chair

Firstly, the buying process:

The purchasing process from the Hunts Office website was straight forward and easy to do, sadly when choosing my Karmen chair, the preview pictures of said chair aren’t updated with the changes I select. This made the final product that would be delivered to me guesswork and had to go a bit on faith. This needs updating on the site to make things more transparent.

I purchased the Karmen chair on 21/10/23 and the chair was delivered to me on 14/11/2023. The time it took for delivery I thought was acceptable as this had to be made up with the selections I chose on the website.
The chair came packaged in just a large box, some cardboard and 2 plastic bags, no foam or bubble wrap to protect the chair against knocks or bangs, thankfully (and luckily) my chair turned up undamaged.

The Karmen Steelcase Chair:
The good: It looks fantastic and has top quality mesh. The seat pan is comfortable as is the back of the seat and I find I can sit in this for quite a long time while working from home before I need a break. For reference I’m 6 foot 1 and 185lbs.
I went with the 4d arms and I’m happy with the adjustability they provide.
The chair is light and easy to move around, especially if like me you work upstairs.

The bad: The arm rests have 2 issues which I’ve experienced, first off, the 4d arm rests just require pushing slightly to move them without any button being pressed so they can move about unintendedly. Where the bottom plate under the padding of the arm rest is exposed it’s sharp and I’ve already accidently taken a bit of skin off my finger due to this. Secondly the armrests “padding” isn’t really padding its very hard rubber and the quality feels pretty cheap to be honest which was a disappointment as this chair costs over £1000.

The number of adjustments is poor, you can’t change the seat depth or back height which for this price range isn’t great. The adjustment nob under the chair has 4 settings, upright, a slight tilt which is the most comfortable for me, a large tilt with some resistance and a large tilt with less resistance.

As this is a chair that has to be built, Hunts Office won’t accept returns on this if the chair isn’t to your preference (unless it’s damaged, I believe) so this is something to watch out for if you’re on the fence about buying such an expensive item and changing things that aren’t visualised on the website.

To sum up, I think the Karman chair is simply ok, middle of the road to be honest. An £1000 chair which, without a doubt should be more in the price range of £750 for it to be classed as competitive.

First - the Leap Chair is an expensive but first class piece of equipment - robust and nice looking with good choice of fabric colours and a wide range of possible adjustments. Second - customer service was excellent - special mention for Jenny Bird, accounts co-ordinator , who dealt with all issues promptly.

I bought an office chair from Hunts Office. This is quite expensive product and I expected a high level service. And I received it indeed.
It was simple and straight forward online order process, I promptly received confirmation mail and then an update on delivery.
The chair arrived exactly as promised, it was delivered by the company itself, so I received all the explanations about the product and everything was checked for me.

An internet search for premium office chairs brought me to Hunts website.
After an email exchange, I visited their showroom - they had many different styles, colours and qualities all in stock.
I found them very helpful and was regularly informed of my order's progress.
Everything arrived well packaged and in good order - I highly recommend Hunts.

Hunts Office were very helpful and communicative during the enquiry and ordering process, and my order arrived in perfect condition.

I phoned this company with a single, simple query about a desk. I wanted to know about a specific feature and what it meant. Customer services said they would find out and get back to me. They didn't. I tried on two other occasions, I was told the same.

I really wanted the desk, so I configured the desk on their website without the feature I queried about. I paid £699 and I received an automated receipt for the order.

A month went by, I expected some lead time to receiving the desk, I emailed customer services to find out if they have any idea when I that would be—I didn't want to call them because of the previous experience I had with them. They hadn't replied to my email this time, or even acknowledged my query.

Or this is what I thought. A few days later, customer services called me and asked me to check my Junk email, a place I hardly ever look. A month old email was in there from them with the estimated delivery date.

If I hadn't had the initial telephone experience with them, phone calls would have been made and this wouldn't have become such a big problem.

I received the desk in the morning, on time and just before starting work, which was ideal. The desk was assembled with great care by the installers and they took away all the packaging (The desks arrive well packaged to avoid any damage).

What started out as quite frustrating experience was resolved and handled professionally, I am very happy with my new home work station.

Chair was as shown but I think it would be better if the website explained how much assembly is needed with the chair. It wasn’t just a case of putting the castors on and fixing top with bottom. So I had to find someone better than me to put it together. Think flatpack Ikea . Delivery with the carrier was slow due to the fact that there wasn’t anywhere to put delivery instructions. Chair quality is good and correspondence with company over delayed delivery very good
