Had the pleasure of meeting Lee Barwick several times at the Guisborough HSBC branch. What a polite patient and professional person , a credit to HSBC. Went above and beyond to make sure what we needed to address was correctly put in place.we were more than satisfied with the service we received. Thankyou Lee. Would also have to mention Chloe Wells, another polite and professional person we spent time with also.

It’s a bit of a punt to say that they’re on the money but in a twist they are. I didn’t top up my investment as I had anticipated today because of certain factors and other more sensible options. They’re looking into more tailored ways for my retirement and investments and it was good just talk through these options. No doubt together we will accommodate my needs. Both Rachel Wilkie and James Lilley are good team really knowledgeable and very helpful. Thanks MA

Worst experience in last 2 months been with for 15 years
Mismanagement of funds, cancelled my health insurance one week before I went away for no apparent reason potentially dangerous if I hadn’t called up the travel insurance to ask if my recent condition was covered. Dangerous dangerous dangerous !!!!
Customer services appalling spent hours on phone and chat to get to bottom of things with no avail no one has a clue what’s going on. ISA mismanaged half transfer stopped and after asking for complaint meant to have contact within 5 working days someone told me on customer services phone call. Shock never got a call. Absolute disgrace.
I have emailed the below response email.. and will follow my review up with their response - generic information given and case number for complaints.

My husband and I both requested an ISA transfer which took 46 days to process. We visited our local branch on 8th June as we were worried about the large amount of interest we had lost in the process. We were assured that our complaint was logged and that we would get full interest from the time of opening which would be resolved In July. Time is passing and we have not had any updates. It's a constant worry.

I went to HSBC in Newcastle upon Tyne after a very unpleasant scam. I say Farhana Begum, a Universal Banker. I told her about my experience. She was lovely and put me at my ease straightaway. I was very upset and immediately felt much calmer. She explained clearly what needed to be done next. Was very professional. She contacted the appropriate department and confirmed the return of my money with them and what needed to be done next. She explained everything very clearly and was extremely patient and gave me the time I needed. When I left I felt so much better and confident about HSBC, my bank account and the issues being resolved financially. If I need financial advice again I would certainly want to see Farhana again as I have great confidence in her.

HSBC let me open a Fixed rate ISA. I made a £20k FPO transaction into the ISA from my Lloyds current account. The money left my Lloyds account. 4 days later my HSBC ISA is showing zero balance still. After numerous very long long calls, i keep being told all sorts of different reasons, excuses why my balance is zero. I keep being told HSBC have found no trace of the transaction. I have evidence from Lloyds to prove the beneficiary have received my money. I am also being told it will take several weeks for my funds to be transferred in, or returned as I have now requested, I have lost faith in HSBC. So do HSBC have my money or not.! I have no idea where it is. Telephone banking staff no help at all. Was told the fraud team can’t help me so Who can.? All I want is my money back.. DO NOT USE HSBC. Awful bank.! 😔

I only invested with them due to a cash incentive which I never got because they rejected two substantial deposits without reason, and took so long with the third that the offer had expired, a total lack of communication throughout, appalling, invest elsewhere would be my advice.

Unless using the app, access to CS is limited. What happened to secure messaging? I recently had csuse to contact HSBC re a transaction - after accessing the clunky chat I was eventually just cut off/timed out with no resolution.

I switched banks as my old one didn't have a high street branch. Hsbc is a few minutes from my home.
Been into the branch a few times and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. Always friendly, smiling and helpful and always managed to sort any issues quickly.
It's nice to be able to walk into a branch to speak to someone rather than a telephone or online chat.
