Visited Doncaster branch just wanted timber for infill a fence that was decaying. Found some timber saw Shelley at reception who calculated cost which was too much. She asked what I wanted it for and found treated wood exactly what I wanted at 1/3 of price. Saw Kienan in the yard who kindly found the wood and put it in my car. A good experience all round thanks for going that extra mile. Geoff Ackroyd

I had a fantastic experience with Howarth and Timber when ordering my patio slabs. The whole process was completely seamless from start to finish.

On the day of delivery, they sent a text in the morning to let me know they were on their way, followed by a call to update me on how far away they were, which I really appreciated. The delivery driver was friendly, chatty, and incredibly polite. It made the whole experience feel very personal and professional.

The service was top quality, and the price was really competitive too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. A genuinely great experience all round!

In the past my experiences of using HT have been generally good. However this time not so much. I used 'click and collect' to order: I don't know what the name of this particular service is, but it's not click and collect - I phoned after a couple of days when I hadn't had notification my online order was ready, only to be told I needed to come in, collect a chit from the office, go to the yard, have my order prepared, load up my car, then return to the office with the chit. I wasted two days waiting before having to go through the usual purchase process anyway. I wish they'd said in the first place.

I hope I'm wrong about this part: my wife (female) went to complete the order because I couldn't anymore (reference the wasted 2 days), and she returned home with PSE wood that was damaged along one edge. The 2m lengths I'd ordered were also slightly short of this length by about 0.5mm, and there was a significant amount of cupping on one of the PSE lengths. This sort of thing has never happened when I've (male) been to the yard.

There is too much walking back and fourth. As a disabled person there is no consideration for us. The product was good at a good price.

Ordered a ton of limestone chippings - at a very competitive price - and it was delivered next day! Well pleased! Good service and very pleasant to deal with.

Ordered from them as local and a good price - they aren’t properly set up yet as this is a new depot. I was disappointed by the attitude of the staff , I went 1st time and I was informed that the wood was not going to fit in my car by a seemingly very helpful member of staff who was on ‘on his lunch break’. I arranged with him to return with my roof rack on my car to collect it in two hours - he said it would be ready for me. I arrived on time to find him ‘on his lunch break’ at 2.30pm and I’d have to find someone else to sort it out. I found two people in the storage area who also do any really want to help - but eventually did as they had no other option as I wasn’t leaving, I needed the sheet to be cut into two pieces for transportation. I all my 2nd visit took 3/4 hours - all waiting for staff - who seemingly had little else to do
