Consumers frequently expressed deep frustration regarding unhelpful customer support teams that consistently failed to respond to emails and phone calls about missing orders. Many individuals also encountered significant delivery delays and unexpected financial deductions when trying to process item returns and obtain their rightful refunds. Firstly the shoes arrived well packed…

Firstly the shoes arrived well packed and on time. However the fit is not what I imagined. I ordered extra wide but they are only extra wide if the shoe laces are fully extended across the top of the shoe - despite my feet being within the measurement - more lace than leather! I have had many Hotter shoes in the past which have fit perfectly, sadly I shall not buy again.

Want 30 days to inspect faulty sandals!

Bought sandals last June, one is coming apart. Emailed them, but I've got to send them back, wrapping them securely, writing "inspection department" on the parcel. They sent me a link so that i could follow instructions on how to print a pre pay label for the parcel and it will take at least 30 days for a decision. Appalling. I'm away end of August and, being a pensioner, I won't be wearing them in the winter. They used to be an excellent company but now just fob you off! Not good enough

Recent online order experience

I am writing a review on behalf of my Mum who recently placed an order. She wears the Hotter styles Shake and Quake and when she saw there was a sale, she decided to place an order. She ordered a pair of Quake and Shake and then a pair of a new style called Magical. She ordered her same size and same width in all the shoes. She was excited to try the new style and it did not seem too different to the Shake and Quake for fit. However, when she received them and tried them on, she discovered the Magical shoe was way too narrow and tight! This was so disappointing and frustrating; especially as returns are not free (the amount of, I believe £4.50, is deducted from the refund).

My Mum contacted customer service as she felt it was not particularly fair to have to pay for a return/have the return deducted from the refund when the issue was something hard to predict- the shoes were the same width as the other style which does fit. Hotter customer service replied and they did say exchanges were free (but at that point my Mum had returned the shoes and she wouldn’t have tried a different size either). They also said ‘Unfortunately, the outgoing postage of £4.50 is non- refundable. As set out in The Consumer Contracts Regulations, the customer covers the delivery cost for returning unwanted goods, unless the retailer says it will pay for returns.’

We appreciate that a lot of returns are not free, but it is so difficult to purchase shoes, and clothes, online. When you buy the same size and the same width as normal, it is frustrating when the issue is the shoe is too tight. If the shoe is the same width as the other shoes she purchases, how can this one be way too tight?!

We also appreciate why they mentioned The Consumer Contracts Regulations, but it did feel a bit defensive/hiding behind a policy rather than appreciating the issue my Mum, as a customer, was experiencing.

My Mum does feel let down by Hotter and she will not be purchasing any new styles from Hotter again.

Nice espadrille shoes . …

Went to the hotter shoe shop in our local Dobbies garden centre today. Pleased to say I managed to find a nice pair of blue espadrille shoes that cover my horrible toes. Got size 6.5 which fit perfectly. I also have a bunion which can make it difficult to find a good fit. I just wish that the shoe/sandal collection for women was a bit more stylish/trendy without losing the comfort. I’m not ready to wear ‘old lady shoes’ . Please can your design team make some more stylish shoes. I have some designs in mind. Oh the name of the espadrille shoe is Pacific please please do them in stone for next summer. Stone would be such a good seller as it matches most outfits 👍

Good product, rubbish service and ordering experience,

I bought slippers for my husband and managed to get another pair for my son. There is no facility for click and collect which means I was compelled to pay p&p. As this seemed to be the only size 11 I didn’t want to wait to get to the store. This is fairly nearby but not allowing customers to click to store is so outdated. The store itself is very old fashioned and both staff in the shop and on my phone call act like they are doing you a favour. The only reason for ordering is that the product is quite good. But everything else wrapped around it - service, merchandising and ordering platforms need to be radically enhanced. You need to be much better Hotter!

Using my money to fund their business…

I have ordered three pairs of sandals over the last 3 weeks and have returned one - the value of all 3 pairs was taken immediately from my credit card. The sandals are OK , but the customer service is very poor. According to the Royal Mail Tracking service the returned pair was received by Hotter's on 25th July 2026, yet I was notified today that the parcel had been received and I must wait up to 14 days for verification of their approval and issue a refund. They should not use their customers to fund their business. No more Hotter's shoes for me.

Hotter by name but no longer the original Company

Hotter shoes, as most loyal and valued customers will remember, sadly went into administration in 2023, and the Company now misleadingly still trading under the Hotter name is Beaconsfield Footwear Ltd and that's where the similarity ends.

I own two pairs of sparingly worn "Woodstock" mens shoes which admittedly are out of the guarantee period but the upper are still as good as new but the welts (between the upper and sole) are suffering from material fatigue and crumbling badly. I am 81 yrs old so the shoes are not abused in any way.
The shoes should have withstood the casual use but this Company, unlike the original Hotters, refuse to acknowledge the fault and have washed their hands of considering any gesture of goodwill.
Buyer beware! This is NOT Hotter service!

I ordered shoes and after 8 days they were still not dispatched. I phoned and was told to wait a few more days and they would be sent out. Later that day I was notified I would get a refund, no explanation of what had happened. First time I'd ordered from Hotter and probably won't use again.

Soles disintegrated

Have a pair of hotter sandals which had been in the box in a cupboard for quite a while but never worn. Started wearing them but chunks of the sole literally broke off within a few hours wear. Hotter agree that this was a fault with older styles but cannot - rather don't want to - do anything about it. Wont buy from them again

Shoe replacements

Have bought Hotter shoes for years & found them really comfortable. Sent for pair of Daphne shoes which were in their sale, but found that they were too tight in the width. Sent them back & asked for replacement in wider fit. Waited a week , as I had not heard from them, gave them a call. Was told that the shoes had arrived back but no information as to when the replacements would be sent out. Not sure that I would ever have got them if I hadn't made enquiry! Not what I expected from Hotter.

Thank you Manjit!

I recently encountered a problem with an order I had placed,by phone, via my local Hotter store. It should have been a simple error to rectify. Having spent most of a day, either on the phone or waiting for a call back, in the belief my problem was being sorted, I decided to contact the store directly myself. What a difference! It turned out that nobody from customer service had even spoken to the store. The manager was as angry as me with the situation. Within 30 minutes she had resolved the problem. She has advised me to always go through the store in future. I cannot speak highly enough of Manjit at the Rugby store. She deserves 5*
I have suggested to customer service that they take a leaf out of her book.

No response to e-mails.

I rang and specifically asked for my shoes to be sent by Royal Mail, as Evri are useless and never find me. This was agreed. However, the next day, I had messages from both Hotter and Evri, saying Evri would deliver. I e-mailed Customer Services, and have had no response, not even an acknowledgement, despite a reminder from me.

Trainers falling Apart…

Had problems with insoles previously returned & told by Complaints they were water damaged, as they came apart but the shoes were undamaged this is untrue. Now my Sparks shoes have come apart, uppers have lifted off the soles with little evidence of any fixing at all. No point in returning them because Hotter don't care. I have bought trainers from Aldi that are better made & last longer that are only 20% of Hotter's prices.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. No local shop so have to order online. Shoes did not fit right so returned and meant loss of £4.50 and refund postage meant loss of £7.45. need to think carefully before ordering as this time had to pay £7.45 for unusable shoes which are in perfect condition

No longer the shop I have shopped at…

No longer the shop I have shopped at since I found it in 1998, since that time I have wondered if they are the same family that own it and actually run it, because some of their shoes have not got that bond with the customer esp when you think the name used to mean yes they were hot off the shelves, but they did have a bond with many of there customers because there shoes were good but sadly i have noticed that the promise of good shoes is no longer, like my spandrills i bought last year because I had wanted some for so long, sadly after buying them they started to fall apart. There was i with glue in hand sitting after midnight fixing and hoping that the heel rope work that gives the shoe it's name i had decided that I would never buy anything like that from them ever again. Then I decided on some new sandals I have had the same kind every year since they came on the market and what happened last year I bought some new sandals in pink and beige yes they fell apart the doul came away from the shoe bed and the base that you walk on i then decided to buy yet another pair and yes they to fell apart they were in beige and and the horrible colour that looked like eggs that had gone wrong what happened they went the same way as the latter pair in pink and beige. They fell apart. So i decided to buy no more pairs that was until I saw the blue ones yes I have bought them not the navy ones. Oh no i have had the pale blue ones with the navy straps but sadly the left does not quite as well as the right one will they last i honestly do not no? I hope they do, but who's to say. I just do not think for the money we pay for them, they should be good and they should last like they used to do that's why they are hotter it's the name and brand we pay for as it is a guarantee that they should be good they should last not drop to peices soon after buying them.

White leather trainers with metallic stripes

Hi, I visited a Hotter store in St Albans, on the 12th of July. A lovely young lady helped me try on so many trainers, in different sizes, and widths. I’m so sorry, I can’t remember her name, but it begin with an ‘S’. She was so patient, friendly, and professional.
Anyway, after trying on so many, I actually bought a pair of white leather, quite soft, trainers, with the metallic stripes down the side. However, I just want to say, that over the years Hotter footwear seems to have changed dramatically in sizes and widths.
In the past, I always bought a size 6 standard. Recently, to my surprise, I fitted into, and bought a size 6 and a 1/2 in an extra wide fit. The size 6 trainers were way too tight in length.
Standard and wide seem to be both very similar, narrow on the foot, and extremely shallow around the toe box. There’s no room to wiggle your toes. Hopefully, some changes can be made for us faithful customers.
Other than that, I’m happy with
my new extra wide trainers. Thank you :)
