Genuine Company but Shocking Experience
Chose my hotel, put in my credit card details and pressed book then a red message appeared on screen saying reservation had not been successful and I needed to call Hotelopia to get my money back. I called next morning and agent confirmed the reservation had not been gone ahead and told no payment would be taken from my card. Unfortunately £1092 was taken from my card the next day. I called again and was told money will reject and be back on my card in 10-15 days! I waited 15 days but no money returned, called again and was promised a refund in a month! I called my credit card who gave me the Hotelopia ARN number (apparently shows the company have intentionally taken payment) and who raised a dispute to recover the money. Credit Card company said it would do no harm for me to call Hotelopia again to try and get money back whilst they also carried out dispute action. Called Hotelopia again quoted info from credit card company, was promised refund within 3 weeks(!!), amazingly money was refunded to my credit card the next day. I had read other people's negative reviews before booking and thought it would not happen to me but it was not worth the resulting stress, to try and save £100 over Expedia price. I have now rebooked my hotel on Expedia. Sorry Hotelopia, but this service was shockingly poor and I feel I have to let future customers know.

Shocked at the negative reviews
So I booked with Hotelopia through the blue light card app before I had read any reviews on it.
After reading reviews I was very sceptical about wether my room was going to be booked or not. But I arrived at my hotel that I had booked (Hilton Manchester Piccadilly) and checked in with no problems whatsoever.
Hotelopia was the cheapest I could find on the internet and I intend on using them in the future!

This is a scam company - do not give them your money
Made a booking mid-November then cancelled it a day later. No confirmation email was sent to confirm cancellation. Had to call after getting no responses via email for a week asking for a refund. Agent says the booking was cancelled and I would be refunded in the next 7-14 days after cancellation. We are in December now and no refund has been made. Have emailed them daily to only get the same response that they have paid the refund on 20th November 2018 despite the fact that no-one asked for my bank or PayPal details and they had the cheek to take the money out of my PayPal account 5 days after I cancelled the booking. Avoid this company by all means.

Cancelled accommodation on morning of…
Cancelled accommodation on morning of departure!!!
- booked a "package" holiday (Easyjet/Hotelopia) for 10 nights to Croatia only to be informed 3hrs before we were heading to the airport that "hotel closing early" - offered 3 'alternatives' none of which were even close to the original booking, and ended up having to make a last minute booking ourselves, resulting in significant extra costs and stress etc. What really grated, however, was that when we were in the resort the hotel was in fact open and was staying open for a full week after we would be returning... Holiday ended up being twice as expensive as we'd planned and while we received some money from the company for the cancelled accommodation we never received either adequate compensation or indeed a truthful answer to explain this 'anomaly' of a 'closed hotel' being open - if they'd at least been honest and tried to re-accommodate us at the time we would have had more respect - avoid ANY package with Easyjet /Hotelopia if you don't want to risk a similar experience. Clearly we are not alone in finding this company's service and customer care wholly unacceptable.

Useless website and service
Very disappointed . They offered a free cancellation service which I did on their website. I did not receive any confirming email. being a weekend i rang them on Monday only to be told I had passed the cancellation deadline and they did not receive anything from me. Will not use Hotelopia again.

Hotelopia is a SCAM - avoid at all costs
I booked a room through Hotelopia on Google. It's basically a SCAM. Upon arriving to the hotel I was told they can't see a reservation under my name. Hotelopia put me on extended hold on the phone and despite having a confirmed reservation to a certain hotel, they said my reservation is for a different hotel (dorms - which I would never book). Avoid them at all cost. Google should remove them from the platform.

They defenetly shouldnt exist!
maybe 4-5 time in total I have booked with Hotelopia! I stay more than 100 nights a year in hotels so I have a good comparism of all these websites!
Defenitely the worst it is now the 2nd time that I booked something and the hotel didn't get the reservation and there emergency number never works. Now out of precaution I called the hotel to see if the booking is there and it wasnt. It took me 3 calls and 1 hour of my time to call Hotelopia. And now the boyz in the philipnes understood finally the issue. They kept me waiting 10min+ while they spoke to the property and came back and said they forwarded my reservation to them and the property will keep looking in their system. So my question is "what happens next?" the guy wasn't so sure but said "don't worry the hotel will call you..." and if they call me and they say that there is no reservation what will happen? will the hotel call Hotelopia? "hmmmm" he wasnt so sure again
So basically by tomorrow if no one calls me which I suspect I will have to call Hotelopia again and see what they will do about it! (and probably wasting 1 hour of my time!)
There is many many hotel booking websites NO NEED to use these guys, their success ratio for me is probably around 50% and with all the other hotel booking websites in the past 14 years no issues EVER. (that is at least 1400 bookings)

Avoid at all cost
I have also had issues with booking though the Hotelopia website, I made two hotel booking on the same evening and both were double charged. One booking the Hotelopia team have rectified + credited back but the second hotel they are not accepting responsibility. This is very disappointing as its clear from this experience and others on this forum they have issues with their IT infrastructure. Be careful- do not use this website!!

We booked 4 nights hotel Bijou with Hotelopia! The booking process was very simple. Received the voucher & confirmation straight away. The hotel was fantastic & best of all it was £100 cheaper than Expedia & Booking.com! So great value from Hotelopia.
Sadly there’s some very ugly reviews about Hotelopia here on Trustpilot, which made me very nervous & wrote to the hotel asking to confirm they had my reservation. I just want to put things right & tell everyone that we had excellent service from Hotelopia & as a regular travellers we highly recommend them!

If only I could give 0 stars. This is the worst organisation I have ever in my entire life had to deal with. The hotel have said they have not received payment from Hotelopia who has taken money from my account. I have tried to call them and I am just getting passed around to diffeent departments who end up hanging up on me. This organisation I believe is Fraudulent. Avoid!! I want my money back!!

The Hotel we were staying went bust .
The Hotel we were staying in went into administration and most of the people staying there were transferred to other hotels , some even upgraded , as loyal customers of Hotelopia we expected the same but when we phoned Hotelopia they just made excuses and basically didn't want to know , they do not belong to Abta either .
So be aware that if you have any problems you are on your own !
UPDATE: Hotelopia have replied saying they want to resolve the situation but not sure if this is genuine as I have already posted a message for them on Facebook , emailed them twice and phoned numerous times to their head office all to no avail :o(
Updated update 18/10/2018
I gave Hotelopia another chance and I sent to head office all the details , booking refs , receipts as they requested and they said they would pass the info on to their complaints dept ( rubbish bin ) will update if i hear from them but I am not holding my breath :o)

No booking exists
No booking exists - actually after many hours of calls, and eventually getting through to "bedsonline.com" in Mallorca, it appears a booking did exist for a different but suspiciously similar name hotel. The confirmation was correct to me, and matches the pictures of the location I was trying to book, but the actual reservation was in a different place. After i sent my email confirmation to them it appears they understand the problem I have, but as yet no help. Do not use any of the HotelBeds Group agents/partners - this almost appears to be 1980's style travel fraud!
Be careful !
Be careful !!
Zero Stars if I could.
They fail to actually book you a reservation with the hotel they just take your money it seems. I spoke to the hotel who couldn't find any reservation in my name ! Seems this is a common occurrence reading other reviews. Customer call centre takes forever I was on hold for 30 mins without anyone answering. If you phone the emergency number you just end up being passed through different departments & no one seems to help
Best to avoid !!!
Would rate as zero star if possible
Would rate as zero star if possible. Booked a reservation (linked from google) to the Coral Hotel Athens. Turned up on the day, to find the hotel had no record of the booking and had to find elsewhere last minute. Hotelopia appear to be uncontactable on Sundays. Haven't managed to check if I've been charged yet.
Avoid at all costs.
