I bought a pair of suit trousers in the sale. A week later, after prompting by email, I was informed they were out of stock and I would be refunded. I was duly refunded, but without the P&P. Again, another email to prompt a further refund of the P&P, which was later sent. Customer service slow and without explanation. They always seem to need to be prompted. I wouldn’t bother with them again.

I bought a 'Non-Iron Pink & Navy Multi Check Slim Shirt With Contrast Detail' in the Christmas sale for £35 which was my first shirt purchase from H&C. At the same time, I managed to buy a couple of Thomas Pink shirts in a sale for £50 - more expensive, but buying at the same time allows for an interesting comparison.
Overall, I'd say that the H&C shirt is OK:
Pros:
- I like the fabric design and contrasting detail
- It's a good fit
- Washes and irons well (I know it says non-iron, but like all non-iron shirts it still needs to be ironed, TBH)
Cons:
- There was A LOT of unnecessary plastic packaging. In addition to the plastic cover, there were at least 6 other pieces of plastic which are all instantly thrown away. Clearly, no plastic reduction targets at H&C!
- There's strip of crinkly material sown into the shirt underneath the buttons that crinkles when you wear it. Is this normal for H&C shirts? I've never come across this before and it's just plain weird.
- The button holes are tight, certainly on early usage, I guess they'll probably wear in a bit. And the buttons are not very rounded on the edge and feel quite sharp when you have to push them hard through smallish holes, so putting the thing on is actually quite uncomfortable on your fingers. I know this sounds minor, but I've worn hundreds of shirts in my time and this is definitely one of the top 2 or 3 hardest / most uncomfortable ones to button-up. Hopefully it will ease off over time.
All-in-all, this wasn't enough for me to return the shirt because I like the look of it (if not the sound...) when it's on. But how did it compare to the Pink shirts?
Well, they feel more luxurious and have finer detailing - which is to be expected given the price difference (they were over £150 full price - ludicrous but they do feel and look a lot finer). They're not non-iron so are harder to iron, though.
For me, I'd definitely pay a £15 premium over a H&C shirt in future if I could get Pink shirts for the same price, and probably a bit more - they do feel next level.
If I can't buy Pink for a similar discount, would I buy more shirts from H&C? Maybe.
There's nothing inherently wrong with my shirt but the crinkly strip is very odd and the buttons uncomfortable to button up - if these things calm down with use, I may buy more. The shirt I have is OK, it looks nice - but it's not going to become a favourite and isn't one I automatically reach for: it's more squad player than star striker.

I purchased 4 shirts from H&C towards the end end of 2024. 2 of the shirts are now fault after only wearing a couple of times. One shirt has 2 buttons missing and the other has a big tear on the arm near the wrist.
I reported this to H&C on email and their response was "this is an issue of reasonable wear and tear. The issue comes from constant friction between elbow and a table surface"
Absolutely laughable comment, they've firstly assumed that I wear shirts in an office setting and then suggest that it's reasonable for the shirt to tear after 4-5 wear. They didn't comment on the shirt with missing buttons.
I've re-raised the query with the Quality team but wouldn't recommend as have seen a couple of reviews where people have had bad quality/faulty shirts and nothing has been done

I placed my first & last order with Hawes & Curtis. I live in the USA. I ordered a total of 4 shirts. Two for me & two for my sons. For me, I ordered two French cuff shirts. One I ordered with 37” sleeves & thought …fine they’ll be a little bit long as I wear a 34/35 sleeve. Well, lo & behold the 37” sleeve is perfect while the 34” sleeve is short.
Hawes & Curtis does not allow exchanges. Nor do they offer easy returns as do other English shirt companies. One has to return the shirt with a $10 restocking fee AND pay the shipping - $10 via them or your own shipper of choice.
So now I’m stuck with a shirt that doesn’t fit because it will cost me half the cost of the shirt to return it to them in England!
So while the shirt itself is very nice, I can’t purchase from them anymore. They just lost a customer. Back to CT & Brook Traverner where they offer easy exchanges & returns.

I own a number of Hawes and Curtis shirts and have been buying them for ages all in store. For the first time, I decided to do an online purchase and this has been a terrible experience.
8th Jan - bought 3 shirts on the Hawes and Curtis website
11th Jan - Got a mail informing shirts have been dispatched
17th Jan - Yet to receive my items. I send an email to support asking for an investigation
21st Jan - After back and forth email exchanges, I receive a confirmation that a replacement has been dispatched. I review the email and see the wrong items have been dispatched
22nd Jan - I email this to support and I am informed I have to return the items that were incorrectly sent to me before items I paid for will be sent to me. Unacceptable!
What a terrible experience. No show of empathy. No desire to do more for the customer even after messing things up.
I simply want the items I correctly paid for!!!

Do not order from this company. Might be better if you aren’t international. Sent me a damaged product and aren’t responding. Waiting for the refund policy to be up.

I bought a jumper witch I returned on 8th of January and still not received my refund or received any correspondence back from them witch supposed to be a prodigious company very poor indeed

I purchased a navy double-breasted jacket and a navy skirt in October 2024. The items look great but on wearing the items, I found that the fabric is poor quality as it forms bobbles and easily snags
The lining on the inside the skirt was ill fitting and always twisted and stuck to the inside of the skirt.
I have been wearing Hawes & Curtis shirts for many years, and was disappointed with the poor quality of the jacket, but the skirt was worse because of the construction.
These items were a waist of money as will not be wearing them anymore as they present a person as scruffy and uncomfortable.

I placed an order with Hawes and Curtis, and after a month, I have still not received it. When communicating with the customer service platform, I have not received any satisfactory response, just the general tracking information that is given through the postal service carrier and automated responses. Horrible customer service.

Once again a lack of stock! I wanted to order a number of shirts in size 8 but they only had 2 in stock and refused to refund me the delivery charge even though they were the ones with lack of stock! Surely that’s the least they could do. Get your house in order Touker!

Purchased a ladies blouse needed the next size up it was received back at Hawes and Curtis 27.12.24, I have now received a refund not the blouse, I had to ring as my e-mails were not being read a standard response being sent back, now told it was out of stock, it was still available until Monday this week, if someone had taken the time to look properly at my mails not send a standard response I would have receive the blouse. Not a good first impression even though the blouse was good quality, it would have been nice to have the option of keeping a credit with them or choice of another blouse now paid the postage and nothing to show for it

Purchased 29 December, goods not even sent yet. Gives me a bad impression of the company before even seeing the goods. Despite the holiday period, you would think that shipping would be possible in the normal days between the holidays.

Thank you H&C for your response. Unfortunately your email address as given does not receive emails so I cannot respond as suggested. Perhaps you should check the spelling?
I made the mistake of getting ready for Christmas and buying my son a gift of two H&C jumpers just prior to the extended Christmas returns policy dates - which I didn't see at the time. When I spoke to H&C the uncaring customer care assistant quoted policy and would not accept a request to replace them for a smaller size. One of the jumpers isn't even opened! When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that I could email but would get the same response. Not the quality of service that I expected and definitely the last time I use this company. If I want shabby treatment I certainly know where to go.

After using this reputable company on many occasions, I’ve been appalled by the standard of customer service. I wished to exchange an unworn dress shirt, bought for my son-in-law as a Christmas present and was told that, despite it being over the Christmas period, I had purchased it a week too early. One customer service representative was inaccurate in his understanding of the company policy and dismissive. Very disappointing: would not recommend this company to anyone.

Well would you believe it! It’s nearly 2025 yet a visit to the MK store today led to the middle aged customer assistant pulling, poking and tugging at my hair because she can. I did not visit the store seeking a haircut nor did she ask if it was ok to touch my hair. She loudly exclaimed “is that real” and then proceeded to pull my hair to check its texture and authenticity. If the experience you’re looking for is to be judged and manhandled then by all means visit this store but such such appalling prejudicial experience today

I had placed an order almost a month ago and I am still waiting for the delivery. I sent multiple mails to the customer service without any success. I shared the id details requested for shipment but haven't received any further updates despite multiple reminders.
Considering even orders from AliExpress takes couple of weeks max, this was extremely disappointing. I hope someone will bother taking some action.

I have never received my order, Help team is completely useless, this shop just stealing money, avoid for any costs.

My shirt got a tear in its fabric after only one wash. After contacting customer service I was appalled to hear the Quality department deemed it to be an issue of “reasonable wear and tear” and any remedial action for the faulty product was denied. I was offered an insulting 10% off the next purchase as “compensation”. I have been a loyal customer for a decade as I used to love their shirts but it appears it is time to move on to a different brand. Very poor customer service and client retention.

I ordered a pair of navy shorts. The zip didn’t work so I was asked to return them. However, I found the returns process convoluted and time consuming. In the end despite a customer service advisor trying his best to help I gave up. I won’t be purchasing from this company again.

Two things:
1) the customer service is among the worst in UK. They made three mistakes, didn't refund me until I chased and then refund me only part of the money without bothering to tell me why
2) the shirts are nice only on pictures. When you try them on they style like a rubbish bag, slim, fit or extra fitted, they are buggy and cutted like Primark ...
Will never buy from them ever again
