DON'T EVER GO TO THIS PLACE (unless you want to be ripped off). We took our cousin there to experience an 'English pub'. We only had a mains course each (no starters no pudding) and the food came to 59.25 GBP - fair enough. Then we ordered 2 non-alcoholic gin/tonic and a bottle of rose wine, and the total bill came to an eye-watering GBP 120 so the drinks for three people came to GBP 61. Get ripped off at your own risk.

Just returned from Hatton Arms

Just returned from Hatton Arms, there were 8 of us eating.
There was an unfortunate incident with one of the meals that resulted it being accidentally dropped over one of our friends, needless to say 2 of them were covered in gravy, not the young girls fault it was purely an accident, just one of those things.
However the way it was dealt with was appalling, the manager was cantankerous, non apologetic and extremely rude, we will not be returning. Just hope the young girl hasn't been left traumatised!

Disappointing service

Food was nice, service poor.
After waiting a while we called a waiter over to order drinks, they eventually turned up and we placed a food order as drinks arrived incase they were just as slow to come back.
Several tables that ordered after us all had their food before us so we chased this twice.
The food finally arrived at the table without certain items that we had to ask for twice. The food was nice but very small portions. Ordered desserts that again took a while to arrive.
Given the restaurant wasn't full and there appeared to be lots of staff there was no excuse for slow service.
Our first time visiting and won't be back in a hurry.

Disappointed with the sharing platter

We went to The Hatton Arms for lunch last Saturday. After the waitress confirmed that the sharing platter would be sufficient for two people, we decided to go ahead and order it. I have to say we were very disappointed and still hungry afterwards. No way was it enough for two people. The platter consisted of two pitta breads cut in half, two chunks of bread, a small bowl of hummus, small bowl of tzatziki and a Greek salad. Not only was the salad small, it mainly consisted of lettuce. The cucumber and onion was chopped into such tiny pieces it was non existent. Not very good value for money at all. Basically, we had an expensive salad sandwich. We were also disappointed that they didn't provide any serving spoons for us to be able to share the salad and dips! The other meals looked good but ours was very disappointing, I could have done better myself. Probably won't eat there again. The wine was nice.

No atmosphere

No atmosphere, staff looked miserable, food poor for price!
Left without dessert. Won’t be rushing back.
Shame really as it’s local and well positioned.

The Hatton Arms is a lovely pub…

The Hatton Arms is a lovely pub with excellent staff. The main problem we had is that we were rushed through our meal. The starters came within 5 minutes or less from ordering. I had duck pancakes which just fell apart when eating which left me in a sticky mess. No sooner had the starter been cleared away the mains came. This was too rushed and we were too full. It was not very relaxing but the food was good.

It’s a none return for us to the Hatton Arms.

Our grandson booked a table for 8 of us for his 21st birthday yesterday evening. There were four roasts, three chicken, and one burger. 7 out of eight arrived with gravy poured all over, the burger was free of gravy. My wife returned her meal because she hates gravy but she expected to be offered gravy separately but certainly not poured all over the food without asking first. She also asked for it to be off the bone but they refused saying all their chicken is on the bone! All who had “roast” potatoes said they were pat-he none were crispy roasted just fluffy.. clearly not the right potatoes for roasting with no more than a desert spoonful of veg. No one wanted to risk the desert so we left very disappointed. We took the decision not to complain further after all, it was my grandsons 21st birthday. But no one of us will be in a hurry to return to the Hatton Arms near Warwick.

An enjoyable lunch with friendly and attentive service

We had a very enjoyable lunch at The Hatton Arms yesterday. The atmosphere was relaxed, the choice of food provided something for everyone in our party of six and the table service was polite, friendly and attentive - thank you John! The beers were well kept and the food perfect for a good pub lunch.

Over the last few years

Over the last few years, myself & wife meet up with my brother in law & his wife for Sunday lunch every 6 weeks or so. We choose the Hatton Arms as the location is about 15mins drive from both our homes & have always enjoyed a great lunch served by knowledgable, friendly staff.
Unfortunately on Sunday 21st October everything appears to have changed for the worse. The bar staff were poor, taking money for drinks & then forgetting to pour pints of beer ordered, no one informed us our table was ready, we had to enquire several times before being seated.
We ordered 4 roast dinners, 1 chicken, 3 beef, and informed the waitress we required I beef to be well done, 1 rare & 1 medium, which she accepted. However when the meals arrived only the chicken & the medium beef were as we ordered, the others incorrectly cooked. Additionally the roast potatoes served with all 4 meals were soggy & soft, not like the crisp & tasty ones we were used to, also the vegetables were nowhere near the usual standard.
We complained to the Manager & were informed there was a problem with the oven in the kitchen, however this was not mentioned when we placed our order. Finally we ordered a bottle of Shiraz to accompany our meal, however a further delay arose as we were served Merlot & had to wait 10 minutes for the wine to be changed.

To be fair we were not charged for 3 of the 4 meals, however as I explained to the waitress, we are more than happy to pay & also leave a generous tip for good food, served well, as we have done numerous times before, unfortunately the whole experience left us all feeling we are unlikely to return
