Great simple installation, took it to a local plumbing supplier who gave me the correct couplings - and that's it. 2 years of hassle free water softening. Our boiling tap water boiler kept failing before Halcyan, now it's trouble free.

We’ve had the Halcyan Water Conditioner installed for just under a year.

My partner and I have always lived in Bristol, so we know how hard the water is here. After renovating our first home from top to bottom, everything inside is brand new, new boiler, new fixtures, and a hot water tap - so protecting it from limescale was really important to us.

We also wanted to keep everything looking good aesthetically, not just functioning well, especially as we’re planning to make this house a rental in the future.

Hard water can quickly ruin new fittings, taps, and appliances, so installing a Halcyan was an easy decision for us.

Since having it installed, we’re really pleased with it’s performance. Our cleaner comes every two weeks and there’s no limescale buildup on taps, glass, or surfaces, which in Bristol is pretty impressive.

For us it was about protecting the investment we’ve made in the house. With everything being brand-new throughout the property, it just made sense to put something in place to help prevent scale before it becomes a problem.

It’s also great knowing there’s no ongoing maintenance needed. Once it’s installed, it just does its job in the background.

Overall we’re really pleased with it, it gives us peace of mind that the house, appliances, and fittings are being protected long-term.

Very helpful and friendly staff guided us through the purchase and guarantee process. Although the unit is quite expensive it comes with a 30 year warranty. We live in a hard water area, and had lots of limescale buildup in kettles taps etc. Got a plumber to fit the very small unit as per instructions as he was here to fit a new shower anyway, otherwise I would have fitted it myself. We still get a small build up of limescale over long periods of time, but the difference is night and day, very pleased overall.

Had it for over a year now and still working well. Have noticed better water pressure and any scale residue, if any, can just be wiped away very easily.

Living in a hard water area I have always had a conventional water softener. When it was time to replace it, I was looking for a solution that was effective, but less harmful to the environment. I was recommended the Halcyan conditioner by my son and a neighbour who is a plumber. After doing extensive research and talking to the Halcyan company, I decided to take the plunge and ordered a unit. This process was quick and easy, it arrived within the time frame that was promised. I had it fitted and by all accounts the instructions were easy to follow and soon it was working. It has now been working away quietly in the background for just over a year and I must say I am pleased that I decided to 'go for it'. It is space saving (it doesn't take up an entire cupboard), quiet, requires no settings or filling with salt (so: a green solution, not harmful to the environment!) and I almost forget it is there. This is a good product and I am happy to recommend it.

Item delivered promptly, installed easily by our plumber. Works really well. We live in a very hard water area, & there's a noticeable difference in limescale kettle only needs a light descale every 6 months or so

I discovered Halcyon on line & was impressed by the technology that was clearly explained. 30 year guarantee & the option to return it within a year if not happy secured it for me. I like the fact that it improves drinking water, unlike water softeners that can’t be connected to your main water supply.
This small device really does work. I have since recommended it to friends who are equally happy with the result.

The service from first enquiry through to purchase was nice snd easy with no pressure. I found a local plumber to fit the unit and have been very happy with the results.
The fact there is no maintenance costs and no servicing and there is a long guarantee on the products is also very good and saves me having to do anything else with the unit.
It is also very compact.

After having installed the unit, we haven’t noticed any additional limescale and even the drinking water (after normal fridge filtration) has improved.

We had thought about getting a water softener for many years while researching we came across water conditioners as an eco friendly alternative amongst them Halcyan. After filling in the contact form we were promptly called by Chris who answered all our questions and we called again to ask more questions as it’s quite an investment however after considering no salt required, no filters required and the fact it doesn’t take any space we invested and then called our regular plumber to install which took about 2 hours as he also raised the stopcock above the floorboards for ease of access. Immediately after the install we ran the water in the shower the screen which was cloudy with limescale and which couldn’t be removed without products and a LOT of scrubbing started to dissolve and came away with light rubbing using a microfibre cloth. We then filled the kettle and watched as the limescale started to come away from the element. The other thing we noticed immediately was the feeling of skin after washing hands usually we need hand cream. We were cynical but it’s working and no need for an additional tap like with a softener which would have required a lot of upheaval as floorboards would have had to come up. Really really pleased with this product.

I had to think hard about buying the in-line unit from
Halcyan as the unit appeared to be very efficient and long lasting(30yrs) but expensive.
However, I did buy one and got a local plumber to fit it and have not regretted the expense. It showed its effect within a month. Thankyou Halcyan!

Really responsive to all my enquiries and we now had the product installed for months and seeing even more benefit than we expected!

We live in a hard water area and I’m pleased to say that after installing the Halcyan unit we have not seen any additional limescale build up. We do get some white residue around the sink drains, but it does wipe off easily. It’s too early to say whether we have seen the limescale previously in the pipes and water system erode, but I’m hopeful given the recent results.

Not sure how it actually works, but the Halcyan Water Conditioner does somehow reduce the hard water scale, without the need to add any salt etc. I've had it installed for about 4 months now and its been performing consistently. Hopefully it will stand the test of time

Great experience from start to install - Chris helped guide us through why the Halcyan is better than our old Water Softener for our needs and helped find a plumber in our local area who's installed it before.

We installed the Halcyan H2o9 water conditioner in October 2024. We are very happy with the performance of this unit. Since installation we have noticed a marked reduction in limescale accumulation on bathroom taps and porcelain. Any deposits that do occur are easily removed during routine cleaning.

The device worked well at first. We all noticed the diffrence, and there were visibly fewer markings in the shower, and taps etc. However, after five months, its performance has droped significantly to just a fraction of what it was. Shampoo not lathering like it used to, Unfortunatly, as the reviews confirm, Hacyan seems more focused on arguing the point rather than fixing problems, making it difficult to get a replacement or refund. If they actually looked after people who had issues, it would stop new buyers being put off. This is exactly how a company ends up failing. Even if you don't agree, just refund me and move on, arguing and being difficult lead to this review !!

I have been very impressed with Halcyan the customer service is second to none Chris in particular is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with.
I purchased a system for my mum ( I was originally going to get a softener as that is what I have ) as she is elderly and didn’t want her carrying heavy bags of salt and bending down to put them in a softener and also to fit a softener would have needed a long pipe run from the front of the house to the back with visible pipes that had to be boxed in ect.
So I searched for a alternative for halcyan it solved all the issues we had around installing a softener ( it’s been in now over a year and no sign of any limescale )
My own water softener has now packed in after only 6 years and a purchase price of £2000 and I am of course out of warranty ( only 3 years given )
So I have now purchased a halcyan for my own home saved my self a fortune as this system is cheaper and I won’t have to keep buying salt. And I am covered under warranty for 30 years 🙌🙌
