Google Play is closed to the visually impaired!

I have a severe visual impairment, but I work and do research thanks to appropriate technologies. I found a text on Google Play called 'Authoritarianism in All its Guises, Perspectives on Right, Left, and Centre'. I was unfamiliar with Google Play, and the site failed to make it clear that the ebook is blocked by DRM. Even on the site, where it is available to me, it is not possible to use a number of functions such as direct translation (even Google Translate) for the entire book. This makes reading and all the things you do when using a text for research a nightmare. Taylor and Francis provides a fully accessible ebook in the same situation.
I entered into intense discussions with Google, which was helpful and quick to respond, at least in words. In fact, they say they cannot do anything because they are only suppliers of ebooks and must follow the wishes of the publishers: so let them say clearly that they only sell consultation and in standard mode.
This is the "freedom" of this wonderful Big Tech, which does not want any restrictions on "its own" freedom.

Google playstore is like a one trick…

Google playstore is like a one trick pony! I recently got very much into gaming and I purchased something from the play store and I had a promotion that was amazing I used it and got a huge discount. That was months ago I get promotions rarely and when I do it's a joke. And now they're constantly trying to get me to buy a playpass for 10/month and show me all the deals I'm missing out on which is ridiculous because I should be receiving great deals regardless but I'm mistaken if I don't pay they don't play...

No help from Google

Paid for no ads on an app thru Google Play couple years ago. Replaced the phone a couple times and was not getting ads. Got a new phone and sync'd my data but now getting ads. Tried chat within the app and no response, wrote a bad review and sent several emails to their support with no response. Google has been no help even though the developer appears to be violating Google's policy.

⭐ 1 Star – Google Play must take responsibility

I purchased the Premium yearly plan for “Amélioration Photo par IA”, and the app still treats me as a free user – full of ads, feature limits, and constant pop-ups asking me to “try 3 days for free.”
When I try to restore my purchase, the app throws an error: “Restoration failed. No valid subscription found.”

This is not just the developer’s fault – it’s also on Google Play, which continues to host and promote apps that cannot even recognize a valid paid subscription. In 2025, this lack of verification and quality control is unacceptable for a platform of Google’s scale.

Users trust Google Play to check the integrity of payment systems before allowing apps to sell subscriptions. Instead, we waste our time and money fighting bugs that should have been caught in basic testing.

Fix this, Google.
And to the developers of Amélioration Photo par IA: honor the payments, or refund your users.

I paid $54.21 for the coin id scanner app on googleplay- the app didn't work. I cancelled the app on Google play and deleted the app- was still billed $27.21- I called Google play at 6502530000 to resolve issue- but was unable to as the phone number will not allow you to dispute a charge for an app. I guess caligulas horse was made counsul in Google customer service. BUt I made a bbb- complaint on this.

Digital gift card redeem error

Major issues redeeming digital gift cards purchased from Amazon, 8 out of 9 failed. You then have to fill in a form and wait up to 3 days for Google to resolve.
Google issue the gift card codes to Amazon so why then fail them for a security check! Don't they trust Amazon!
My opinion is that Google are grossly incompetent and negligent

Be careful with the APP store of Google. I've installed a APP, they have charged money for a membership that i didn't subscribe and the Google play store didn't cate about my complaint. Be careful with the terms for the user.

I use Google Play regularly just for downloading apps and free games. The interface is clean, and the search is immediate. I appreciate having access to my download history - it’s simple to reinstall things when I switch devices. While I don’t deal with subscriptions or payments, for everyday use it’s been reliable and easy to navigate.

If I could put 0, I would.

They'll let you buy Google play gift cards but when It comes to actually getting the money on your account and spending it, its a whole different story. Avoid like the plague im already £80 down with no way to speak to an actual human, caught in a constant cycle of the Ai asking the same stupid questions. JOKE

Unethical thieves stealing from customers.

It doesn't surprise me that the rating is so low. Google play is happy to steal left right and centre from it's customers. I used all my play points for a coupon in a specific game, and the coupon never materialised in store or in the game, and yet Google play took all my hard earned play points (I have a whole bunch of screenshots showing the entire thing). I have spent a month now jumping through hoops with them to try and get this resolved, and yet they still go round in circles. Now they're asking me the same questions again as they did on day one of me bringing this issue to light, and I have sent more screenshots than I've sent anyone, ever, still for them to pretend they don't remember what the issue was. Every couple of emails it's a new person, and they don't even bother to read any of the previous correspondence. They are absolutely hopeless and completely incompetent and unqualified. Here is a list of the incompetent staff names I have spoken to this far: Chris MJ, Carolin P, Julie, Brad G, Renz, Rebecca, Anna, Deez and Denny. So as you can see, a lot of either incompetent staff, or staff told by Google play to talk around the issue and never solve it, because Google are criminals and just enjoy stealing from customers. This is why I don't bother using anything Google as far as possible anymore - they are completely unethical.
