Disgraceful when you think of their responsibilities considering how big they are google might aswell just be a soulless AI robot from admin to ceo.
A pathetic corrupt joke of a company that sits at 1.3 in reviews which is actually 0.3/5 as you have to leave a 1☆
Too Google 0.3 well done, you must be so proud.

They allow developers to steal from you first off. Secondly Four refunds that were approved and SAY REFUNDED on my Google play account are still not in my bank account. These people cannot figure out how to put the money back on the same card they took it from. Nobody answers any phones. This is theft all the way around. Worst customer service experience of my ,48 years. Buy Apple products folks

Google Play for Developers Silly Issue

I'm a developer and Google Play have told me they are going to close my account on 22nd Sept, however the steps I need to perform to keep it open are not available to be to do until 26th Sept.

Have contacted google but don't expect a human response, it'll probably be some AI nonsense giving me no real solution.

Update: as predicted some nonsense AI answer didn't help at all. So disappointed with Google.

Google Play Reviews Under Scrutiny: Demanding Transparency for the Sila Daily Horoscope App

I've been using the Sila Daily Horoscope App, which boasts over 8,000 users and 11,000+ installs, and I've noticed a troubling trend on Google Play regarding app reviews. It appears that fake reviews are left untouched, while legitimate feedback seems to vanish without explanation.

In browsing the reviews, I've come across numerous entries that are clearly fabricated.

These reviews often praise the app in generic terms or seem to come from users who have no real experience with the app. Meanwhile, Ive seen several thoughtful and constructive reviews get removed, potentially because they criticized aspects of the app or provided genuine feedback that the developers might not want to hear.

This situation leaves me feeling frustrated and disheartened. It undermines the integrity of the review system, which should serve as a platform for honest user experiences. When fake reviews dominate, it misleads potential users about the apps quality and effectiveness.

It also diminishes the voices of real users who are trying to share their authentic experiences, both positive and negative.

For Google Play to improve its review system, it needs to implement stricter verification processes for reviews.

This could include:

Enhanced Moderation Tools: Utilizing AI and human moderators to identify and flag suspicious reviews.

User Verification: Encouraging or requiring users to verify their identity or usage of the app before leaving a review.

Transparency: Providing clear guidelines on what constitutes a valid review and why certain reviews are removed.

Engagement with Users: Allowing developers to respond to reviews, especially to clarify misunderstandings or address concerns raised by genuine users.

In conclusion, the current state of reviews on Google Play, especially for the Sila Daily Horoscope App, is a significant concern. Genuine user feedback is crucial for both potential users and developers, and it's imperative that Google Play takes action to restore trust in its review system.

Latest 'update' adds a useless step to search where you now need to hit a button at the bottom of the screen to open the search bar at the top of the screen. You then need to touch the top of the screen to open the keyboard.
Which genius thought these entry touch points at the opposite as far away as possible parts of the screen was a good idea? Screen layout at its worst.

Didn't realise how much I use this search function until it's useless

IS GOOGLE PLAY A TRUSTED PROVIDER

I signed up for 1week free trial for file commander from google play. I couldn't use the app so decided to cancel it on the 5th day. I went to my google account to cancel it but couldn't find any subscription so I contacted the provider of the app,
MobiSystems which said they had no records of my purchase. On the 7th day, which was the day payment should have been taken if I didn't cancel the trial, I noticed £29.99 has been deducted from my account. I contacted MobiSystems again and they told me they haven't deducted any money as they have no record of my purchase on their system. Even though google says they don't know what the payment was for and who it went to, they have persistently refused to refund the money.

Used to be a great service for premium games, turns out those were all rentals.,

This is an experience I had today, as well as for the past couple of years now.

I just found out a game I owned from Mika Mobile is removed from my account, as the developer took it off the store. Google will not even let me see it in my download list anymore.

I've invested a lot of time and money into premium games on Google Play for the past 10 years.

However due to Google changing rules over and over again, in regards specifically to keeping up with current Android versions, a huge amount of my games that I paid money for show up as not available for my version of Android.

The majority of developers I tried to contact either ignore me or tell me that there's no intention to update to the current version of Android.

Since Google controls whether or not I can use my games I purchased, there's nothing I can do. Some developers have completely removed any trace of their games from the store. And there's no way to download from your purchase list.

Due to Google's policies, there is no refunds possible from Google, there's nothing you can do to get anything back from the developer or even get an .APK (so I have heard some people have had like getting an .apk)

As an example, Disney, who released their DuckTales remake a number of years ago, has refused to update the game. A multi-billion dollar company refuses to keep customer satisfaction, and now there is no way to play it unless I had an old phone with an old version of Android.

I understand this is "just the way it goes", but just because there is a policy that protects Google when it comes to these kinds of issues, making them not liable, it does not mean that Google does not have the worst customer service because of it.

With all of the money they've made, they could have at least made a way for you to keep your games and download them to play at your own risk, instead of barring you from them.

It is asinine, and I am fed up with losing so much money with this company. They will likely blame the developers for not keeping up, but the truth is there is no reason for the developers to keep up with constant changes unless the game has a free to play model that earns lots of money.

In the end of the day, you're better off avoiding this company. I'll still play what I have since I bought so many games, at least until Google ruins those for me too.

Bought a Google play gift card for £60

Bought a Google play gift card for £60, told needed more information... 3 days later and still not given my money... 3rd time this has happened... Missed an offer on my game each time, so cost me money too!!!
Don't use this "service", unless you want them to keep your money for a week, getting interest...
No explanation for this action, so I think it must be something they do for profit!!! This is the last time I use them... Supplemental... Nearly 2 weeks later, still no money... Sent requested docs, and nothing... No advisories, no info at all... Beyond farcical, when I have paid money in good faith!!! They're supposed to be a high tech company, but they can't even credit my account with my own money... Do not use this service!!!

Google Play not allow buying apps although I am in my home country

Google Play still does not allow me to buy apps, although I have returned to my home country (Turkey), 5 days ago. In this specific situation, Google support is also helpless, because I have already spent hours with them chatting and emailing. I am still waiting for their specialist team to solve this issue, so that we can spend money!
