Get Gist has excellent customer service…but trust is down.

Get Gist has good customer service most often responding quickly. It is also, a great product with increasing features. However, they have failed to attend to money matters successfully. Currently, they owe me significant affiliate fees and rather, than addressing this and finalising payment, they either do not reply to the enquiry, or dodge the question. They also delay responses for months at a time, saying the payment will be made and failing to make it, which has gone on for over 12 months. While Get Gist in the past has proven to be trustworthy with a great founder, this business practice significantly, downgrades the trust factor with this organisation. Also, recommended this business to a client, they proceeded to upgrade the client to premium charging full price for several years without our knowledge, when we asked for a refund they failed to provide a refund of the difference in monthly fees. It was not easy and took a lengthy period to negotiate a resolution, which worked for Get Gist, rather than their customer.

Unethical & Fraudulent Behavior from GetGist

I joined GetGist’s affiliate program and referred multiple paying clients. For 5 consecutive months, I received no payouts. After several follow-ups, they finally responded with a vague excuse, claiming there had been “abuse” in the affiliate program.

However, the affiliate program is still active and publicly available. Anyone can sign up, and there has been no official announcement, no pause, and no transparency. They simply refuse to pay what is owed, without any specific explanation, and are hiding behind a generic excuse to avoid their obligations.

This is not a one-time delay or misunderstanding. It is a clear pattern of dishonest behavior — deliberately avoiding payments while continuing to run the program and accept new affiliates.

I’ve already moved all of my clients away from GetGist and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious. This company’s handling of its affiliate program is deceptive, unethical, and completely untrustworthy.

Fantastic Product and Great Team

I've been using Gist in our business for a long time now, and it's an absolutely fantastic tool that keeps improving. I can't really understand the comments on poor service as my experience with the team has always been exceptional - Jitta, Ruchi and Indrani on live chat are friendly and helpful, and really go the extra mile to help. Even when the product doesn't support a use case, they will often add the suggestion to the roadmap and it's often not long until there is a solution!

But Gist does so much already and covers a lot of use cases. It's written in such a way that a developer can do some really powerful things with it, as well as it being very straightforward for those who are not in technical roles.

It might not be the behemoth that some of the live chat tools out there are, but it does what it does extremely well, at a more reasonable price point and backed by a team that genuinely cares.

I do not hesitate to recommend Gist.

Poor poor poor service - stay away if you are a business

Poor poor poor service. Stay away from them!
They continue to block my email all the time.

With a low bounce rate and low spam rate, they decide "it's too much" and block out my capability to send emails.

They don't send any warning, I discovered it once I wanted to send a new email.
It cost my company tons of money the fact my email list was disabled time after time.

Terrible service!!!

Feature rich and gold star for the support

So ive seen a number of reviews saying Gist is limited and the customer support is bad. I have had this tool for several years now and can say that it is very feature rich, works exceedingly well, and the support has always been responsive. They have recently gone above and beyond to investigate an issue with some html code that originated in a different company.
I'm very happy with Gist and it's visual workflow feature, my only frustration has been the learning curve. There's room for improvement on the intuitiveness, but once you are over the learning hurdle it becomes significantly easier to navigate.

Poor customer support and they don't care.

They have really poor customer support (normally takes hours before they reply).

I am also one of the people that got a lifetime deal but like everybody said. They wanted me money and then they could not care less. Stay away! My tip, go with a provider that actually likes their customers and cares about their reputation and not only the money.

Needs improvement

GetGist is a good alternative to the numerous solutions out there, but there are some pain points that don't appear to be getting much attention;

> The iOS app is an embarrassment and borderline inoperable. You only need to read the reviews on the App Store to figure that one out.
> Email handling during messenger/live chat conversations where a customer is away is pretty terrible. All emails are sent by a "gistmail.com" email address, or "gistmail3.com" etc with no subject, no from name for your company, and terrible formatting within the email itself that makes it hard to read. Deliverability seems to be poor, and since I don't have control over using my own email domain specifically for chat conversation emails, I am at the mercy of Gist. I found it extremely strange that many customers never replied to messages via email until I tested it myself.
> The UI is not particularly efficient, and managing contacts in bulk is painful. Loading lots of contacts via segments takes quite some time, and typically freezes/lags

I really want to love using GetGist, and I hope the above improves in the coming weeks/months.

Gist is an awesome live chat software…

Gist is an awesome live chat software for your business. It really bugs me as they limit many features in the free plan. The support team is helpful but requires elaboration for full understanding. I would recommend Gist if your looking for a single platform customer support service with limitations on many features.

Another one scammed by their lifetime deal and ignored

I was another one who bought their lifetime deal, a couple of years ago on Black Friday on AppSumo when they were ConvertFox. They were more than happy to send me promotional emails gleefully talking about how they'd changed branding to Gist but not so happy to hold up their end of the "lifetime deal" bargain. Radio silence every time I emailed support (3 times) asking how I can get access to my account now that they'd switched branding. They totally ignored me. It's disgraceful and I wonder how many others they hit and ran with this lifetime deal. They probably escaped with tens of thousands, if not hundreds. Not a business with integrity or a company anyone should be doing business with.

Looks good

I don't work for Gist. I bought 2 LTDs for ConvertFox on AppSumo and redeemed them for CF, and forgot about it. Now when they're Gist, I contacted their live chat and they helped me get back in. I haven't actually used it, but so far their interface loads fast, looks great, and my LTD plus unlimited automations actually works. So I'll give them the 4 stars to be fair.

World's worst help desk support and a limited product

They responded to my very first email which was actually a response to their marketing team's request for ideas for improvement. I wrote a very long email with many ideas based on their many limitations. In the same email, I asked for clarification on some issues and about the possibility of a discount. They ignored the latter but thanked me for the former. I sent follow-up emails asking for a response. Nothing. I did continue to receive marketing hype, but requests for assistance were not responded to. Their product is good in some areas but seriously limited in others (e.g, can only run on a few domains). They are based in India and their support is absolutely terrible - maybe acceptable in India, but not on the world stage.
