Would give zero stars if could

Would give zero stars if could. Linen dress arrived with the two pockets sewn in backwards, which bunches up the hip. Furthermore, fabric color arrived looking worn already pilling. When I went to process the return, said garment is not returnable, when it doesn't say that on the garment page at all! False advertising. Of course, the review I wrote is not on their website. Will NEVER order from them again.

Return Fees

I ordered two dresses and returned both of them. I had free shipping on this order and I understood that when I returned them by mail that there would be a 8.95 postage return fee. When I got my refund, they had deducted approximately $28 to return the two dresses. The answer I received from customer service didn’t really make much sense to me. I’m assuming what they meant was they charged me the 8.95 plus their original shipping fees since I was given free shipping on this order. I recently returned another item to them, which I have not received confirmation that they’ve given me a refund on, but I assume that they will do the same thing on this order. I will not be ordering from them anymore. Their return fees are too expensive and not explained in their website.

If it is NOT IN STOCK, Tell Us, Before Taking Our Money

I ordered a sheet set. At no time was I told that any item was "back ordered". Three of four pieces were sent and billed. I complained, and was told the items "may" be available "on or after May 30th"--This would be TWO months after I ordered. I am returning the useless pillowcases and fitted sheet, and will never shop with them again. I wasted a lot of time on this.

The shipping costs are really bad

The shipping costs are really bad. When you pay it and order often there is a free shipping coupon in the shipping box you receive. I intended to use it on an order but for some reason the order did not finish and when I called it was told coupon expired. It had not been that long. As I said shipping is not $4.95 here it is expensive and goes up with size of order (odd). I the "customer service" person was basically of the opinion nothing they can do ..too bad. I will not be ordering from this customer unfriendly online store again. It seems they are not the only one with this item.

Worst service ever

I tried to place an order today but the website would not accept the 15% off code. When I called customer service, the recording said they were very busy and to call back later and then hung up on me. When I called back later, I was told that customer service leaves at 5 and they could not help me with this problem. I was planning on spending a lot of money for my order, but now they will never see it because that is the worst customer service I have ever seen.

Poor quality products

I Ordered a shower curtain that looked beautiful in the photo but was the most flimsy material. It was thinner than a sheet and see through. It was quite expensive and couldn’t believe how bad the quality was. The shipping charges are ridiculous if you need to return an item. You get deducted twice for shipping. Unfortunately, this company is very expensive and products don’t match their pricing.

Incompetence

I glanced at a few other reviews and thought I might have the wrong place, but maybe my experience was just different. Terrible customer service repeatedly, held my money for two months, delivered the wrong product twice and then failed to deliver the third time, lost our second return and demanded proof that we sent it (which we had), then tried to scam us out of the return shipping cost (for the second return, I remind you). "We don't normally refund shipping costs" even when it's completely your fault for shipping the wrong think TWICE?? Finally acted like they were doing us a favor by giving us OUR money back after their multiple failures. They weren't rude, but the person we talked to had to get a manager, then seemed to be making stuff up, didn't listen, and continually acted as though we were at fault after they sent the WRONG PRODUCT on multiple occasions.

So here we are, still waiting on our refund (assuming we'll have to follow up again at some point), still don't have the right product, oh, and never trusting this place again.

Garnet Hill has gone down hill bad

This place has gone down hill bad. They cancelled 2 orders in 1 week because they charged me for items they didn't have. Told them to take me off their contact list and cancel my account. They refused to cancel my account. Garnet Hill needs to get it together. Their customer service is a joke.

LOVELY DRESSES AND WONDERFUL QUILTS

I have always had a great experience with order, shipping, and quality of GH dresses, quilts, towels, etc. I like that the dresses are timeless classics that are gentle, cold, washable and that they are longer and more classy than most dresses on the US market today.

Very deceptive return and exchange…

Very deceptive return and exchange policy. They deducted $20.17 for shipping on my return and exchange in the same order. Sales tax for the item I exchanged did not apply because they placed a complete new order for that item and charged the respective tax there (as I mentioned, all the other items were returned). When I called I was told the difference on my refund was for shipping plus related shipping tax by a person who is not friendly. She kept repeating the same thing over and over when asked a question. I originally paid $18.95 for shipping and charges but when I asked why the deduction was $20.17 instead of $18.95, the person kept repeating the same thing over and over. Their policy states that for returns there is a $8.95 shipping fee per package with our label and for exchanges, there is no charge to return the item. I did both a return and exchange for the same order and they deducted a return shipping tax fee of $20.17. Nowhere do they say they will deduct more than $20 for shipping and tax from your exchange and return. I also tried the live chat on their website so that they could pass my request to a supervisor to update the shipping and return policy but the person finished/completed the live chat as I was still typing. Customer service is horrible.

Bad Customer Service Experience

Bad Customer Service Experience. Ordered a set of queen sheets. When I ordered them, there was a promotion running for 40% off. When I received them, the print was damaged. I reached out to customer service as I would have preferred to keep the sheets even though they were damaged, because I know that they will likely just end up in a garbage bin somewhere. So I reached out to customer service, and the most they offered me was to provide me with shipping and handling to be returned to me (about $15-$18, while the sheets were $104). While I appreciate this, $100 is still a lot for damaged sheets and I would have liked to have a higher percentage off. They said this was not an option because I already received 40% off (which confused me, because this was a promotion running on everything?). They also offered an exchange, however, the sheets were no longer in stock. So that was also not an option for me. I finally agreed to return them, but I can't believe they won't part with a pair of damaged sheets for a bit lower price.

For comparison, I recently received a set of candles from a company. One of twelve candles was cracked. I reached out and they immediately sent a brand new set of twelve candles for no cost!!! This is the kind of customer service I expect. Super disappointed and will not purchase from this company again.

Very Poor Customer Service

Poor, poor customer service. On 11/6/24, I placed an order for a sweater. On 11/11/24, a package from Garnet Hill arrived but it did not contain the sweater I’d ordered. On 11/12, I called and was told a return mailing label would be sent and that my CC would be refunded. A week later, I called again because I'd not yet received the label or the refund. I was then told the refund would not issue until the item GH mistakenly sent was actually received by GH. Seriously???? GH is sitting on the $79.99 I paid for an item GH failed to deliver and now can't deliver because the item is out-of-stock. While the return label finally arrived, ten days after my first call to GH, and I will be taking the package to the post office today, GH's customer service and refund policy here are the worst I've ever encountered in my years of online shopping, including prior experiences with Garnet Hill. I fully expected GH to refund my CC immediately after learning of its shipping error - especially after I offered to send a picture of the mis-sent item. The burden of GH's mistake here apparently falls all on the customer and it burns me up. I'll be griping all the way to the post office and until my card is refunded.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. You cannot cancel an order online when it isn't supposed to ship for almost 2 months! No response to email cancellation request. Phone request denied because item is now supposed to ship in 10 days! Then customer service rep complains to me that she has more than 20 calls waiting! Maybe they should strengthen their online capabilities.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. I was told, when I called, that my shipment was substantially delayed. At that time, an email was sent advising me of an additional month’s delay. I was also told that there wasn’t a mechanism in place for my concerns to be relayed to the company.

Bad customer business practice and service

I called Garnet Hill because they sent me an email for free shipping. It said to view my cart. I had left items in my cart when I saw how expensive the shipping was - wanted to think about it. When I got the email that said free shipping “view my cart,” there was nothing in my cart. I called and explained. I was going to purchase because of the free shipping. They said that I couldn’t use free shipping during a sale. Nowhere in the email did it explain this. I said the email was misleading and it was bad business practice. The agent hung up on me.

The company needs to be more clear…

The company needs to be more clear about quantities shipped with items that are historically sent in pairs (eg shams). I have just spent far too much on two cotton shams without an apology from their customer service department.

Will never ship

I would love to rate a quilt and shams I ordered, but I can't because they never ship. I feel a little like I'm in the twilight zone. They estimate a shipping date, but it's not shipped. I call and they tell me another date about a week out, same thing happens, over and over. I decided to cancel my order. They really don't care--say sorry and refund immediately, but it's really been frustrating.

Good photog, weird product, high shipping & return fees

Bought sheets & a skirt past coulple years, the place is a bit expensive but not SO bad. UNTIL Wife bought a dress with sleeves so puffy it looked like a grade school princess costume. The photog for the modelling shot HAD to have pulled down the sleeves just before each photo. (Why sell such a thing?)

THEN between $16 S&H + $9 return fee, we paid 15% of the $160 base price to receive and return a lousy product. We are done with Garnet Hill
