Unprofessional
This is a first! So I was offered a position at FWWR. There was some issues with dates from previous employers. I was told by the Sr Hiring person who we will keep nameless for this. I had 5 days to correct it. So I get a hold of Imperative who does their checks. Hey this is blah blah and my resume only has years not months and days. I believe ADP for FWWR(Fort Worth & Western Railroad) has manufactured wrong dates. So I correct them in there system and she agreed with my presentation. But she can only go by the information given. So I reach out to the nameless Sr Vice of hiring via email and then called said person(clearly wasn't going to get an answer via email). Blah blah we're pulling your offer. Won't run it again, or accept that their system fabbed the wrong dates. In hindsight, yes! I probably should have caught this. I am human and not perfect. I say thank you for the opportunity and you can reapply in 6 months. Mind you, in the sit down interview nameless mentions wife graduated from the same highschool as me. Two years after. I did not ask nameless's spouse's name. Seemed inappropriate to do so. Now when nameless calls to give me the original offer. Nameless mentions a nickname I went by 30 years ago from the highschool annual. Then proceeds to tell me he looked me up in his spouses annual. Why?! You speak to your spouse about all potential hires? I still did not ask for their name, still seems unprofessional. If I was worthy of an offer beforehand. Why am I not worthy of the offer still, if I corrected hiring dates within the 5 days you gave mention of?! I have the skill set needed to do the job safely day in and day out. I have almost 8 years in the industry. But since you discussed me with your spouse, looked me up in a 30 year old annual and I corrected hire dates; that your system manufactured wrong. I am having my offer pulled today January 27, 2025. Hmm, seems a bit odd to me. I have spoken to my wife about this. She said, 30 years ago. Who cares?! Well apparently nameless does! Because I am flawed, I make mistakes but I also eat that awful crow when I am wrong. After this nameless will probably make sure I never work there. Glad I'm still employed where I'm at! I was hoping to leave these silly games behind from the last railroad(which nameless worked at but we never crossed paths or knew one another). Somethings never change folks!
PS
Yes, my reviewer name is that nickname.
