Flexicover Travel Insurance Reviews 

Easy to apply for, didn’t need to use it.

We did not make any claims, this review is purely about the customer service I experienced.

Despite doing our utmost to list all medical conditions (I even included having the flu last year), my wife received a letter after we took out the policy but before our holiday. It was a follow-up for a mole on her back that she had casually mentioned to the GP nearly two years ago. At the time, they said they would add her to a waiting list, and we forgot all about it. As a result, we didn’t declare it, and the letter came unexpectedly.

This led to a test being arranged for the mole, and we were left waiting for the results with no guarantee they would arrive before our holiday. (In the end, it took over six weeks, though thankfully the results were all clear.) I contacted Flexicover to inform them of the situation and ask how it might affect our cover. The tone of everyone I spoke to was slightly accusatory, as if we had deliberately withheld the information, and overall quite blunt.

Getting through to them was also incredibly difficult, the phone was our only option for this type of request, and it took multiple long calls with long wait times (including three abandoned attempts).

In the end, I sought alternative quotes from other providers I knew would cover this type of situation, just in case I couldn't get a timely response from Flexicover. A week before our holiday, just as I was about to switch to a different insurer and cancel Flexicover, we finally received verbal confirmation that we were covered. However, it was far more stressful than it needed to be. I never received anything in writing to confirm the update, despite specifically requesting this. I was told it would be reflected in the policy documents, but it never was, which left me wondering whether that could have been used against us had we needed to make a claim.

I won’t be using them again.

Quote and purchase of cruise policy online was straight forward and simple. I had to claim for cabin quarantine experienced on the cruise. The claims process is explained well and after submitting my booking confirmation and proof of illness and cabin confinement, provided by P and O, it was handled extremely well by Tite, a claims handler, a credit to Flexicover, who settled the claim very quickly as all documents were submitted.

The process was simple and easily navigated.

Was a straightforward process and competitively priced.

As we (thankfully) did not need to make a claim / need medical help I cannot comment on that part of the process if it was needed.

Flexicover is my go-to insurer for travel insurance.
Quick and easy to arrange cover with them as you prepare your future travel plans or need to quickly put cover inplace for an urgent journey abroad. Useful to have the options of a full years cover for multiple trips or just for the one travel occasion. Prompt turnaround and access to your policy documents online is very convenient.

VERRY GOOD AND HELPFULL

Tried to renew my insurance and continue as a customer. It would not allow me to do so online, so called customer services, who also could not renew it. The lady told me she would have to contact her technical Dept. And would get back to me. She never did. I tried once more days later and was able to renew my policy. It was NOT an easy journey and got no help from Customer Services

Been buying Holiday insurance from flexicover for over 15 years now and apart from twice when we couldn't book with them we have always had great service with them, even when we had to use their services once the service ran very smooth without any issues

This will be the 5th time we've used this insurance when going abroad over the last 10 years. We have had a medical event whilst in Spain and it was fully covered and efficiently dealt with, hence we are using them again for our summer holiday.

Very easy to set up and very expansive list of health conditions which help enormously when someone suffers from a rare condition which are not listed by other insurance companies
