Barbara Reed is a rude, dismiisive and an awful, awful person

Barbara Reed is a rude, dismissive, horrible person. She refused to help with a stray in 2018 and passed the problem onto me, I took the cat in and gave it the best final years of it's life. She helped on one occasion when my cat had gone missing and she lent me cameras and a cat trap. She would not lend me a cat trap when my friend and neighbour died and I tried to take his cat in, instead she got as much info as she could out of me, and took it herself after many weeks of it remaining homeless. In the latest episode she said she would re-home an aggressive cat that was bullying the owners other cat. She asked me to get it neutered and keep it in for two weeks, which I did, then left it with me for 4 months. It terrorised my own cat to the point she pooed herself under the sofa, too afraid to come out to use the litter tray, yet Barbara still tried to blame me, then accused me of animal cruelty online because I was desperate to save my own cat by then. She has a terrible attitude and puts people off phoning her. Sadly this reflects on all cat charities. It only takes one more bad attitude from another charity and people give up ringing them for help.

Rehoming policy too rigid

I made an enquiry about 2 indoor cats, one cat I had seen on the website for months because it was over 13 years old and black. My application was rejected because I lived almost 9 miles from a busy road when I complained my application was then rejected because I live 5 mins walk from a railway track. They didn't even check the inside of my home. 2 weeks later the cat is still showing as available on their website. Such strict criteria applied for indoor only cats is not benefiting animals that need loving homes.

Disappointing and Dismissive Experience

I’m very disappointed with my experience contacting Feline Friends London.

When I reached out regarding a vulnerable cat, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude from Barbara.

People who contact rescue organisations are usually trying to help animals in stressful situations, and a little patience and courtesy would go a long way.

Based on the way I was spoken to and the lack of empathy shown, it did not feel like the welfare of the cat or basic kindness was a priority during our interaction.

Sadly, the experience felt unprofessional and unwelcoming at a time when guidance and support were needed.

Very Disappointing Experience

Strongly discourage adopting through this charity. Communication was dismissive and unprofessional. My email was clearly not read in full; instead, I received a generic, copy-and-paste response that didn’t even address what I had written. The tone came across as rude, defensive, and unnecessarily ego-driven, which was disappointing and frustrating during what is already a stressful process.

Completely under resourced - concerned for cat wellbeing

My experience with Feline Friends has unfortunately been very negative. Throughout my interactions, I consistently felt that the team was overwhelmed and under-resourced, and this affected both communication and professionalism. Several volunteers, including Barbara, often expressed being overworked, and I frequently felt dismissed or belittled during conversations.

These issues made me concerned about the organisation’s capacity to manage the number of cats in their care. In my case, important tasks—such as sending necessary medication—were delayed for weeks, and I was given conflicting or unclear information about the cat we were fostering, including its age and what support would be provided. I also felt that financial responsibilities weren’t communicated transparently.

It’s disappointing, especially because we joined as fosters intending to support the charity. Instead, the interactions left me questioning whether the organisation currently has the resources or structure needed to ensure consistent care for the animals and a supportive environment for volunteers. I would seriously consider all of this before working with them again, as the way the organisation is currently being run has left me feeling sad and uncomfortable

Unprofessional business

Spoke to the owner of Feline friends about a local sick cat over the phone and she was rude, after researching her company it's clear how unprofessional the business is but she deletes all complaints and doesn't allow Google reviews.
