Having real problems with my Etoro / Moneyfarm cash ISA and cannot seem to get any support. I have been promised a call back and nobody returns my calls or emails. I decided to move some money out of my Etoro / Moneyfarm cash ISA, request was made 20 days ago and still no sign of movement from the money which should be moved & completed in 15 working days. Then today I discovered in my documents folder a statement of charges where it appears I have been charged £27.30 for financial instruments. I have no idea what this charge is as there should be no charges for a cash ISA. I am still waiting for someone to contact me to answer these questions. Customer service has been very poor, no response to telephone calls, no replies to emails and promise of call back does not happen.

They allowed someone to set up an account in my name. They have refused to give me a contact for their complaints department (which I believe is a breach of FCA regulations). They have also ignored my request to exercise my “right to be forgotten” in accordance with GDPR regulations. Essentially this organisation does not want to acknowledge or follow UK law. Be very wary.

I initially opened an eToro account attracted by the market leading cash ISA rate of 4.8%. After opening the account I received an email from eToro about a welcome bonus offer of up to £500 of free shares upon making an initial deposit to my verified eToro account. I read the Terms and Conditions carefully which stated that the funds had to remain in my account for 90 days to qualify for the offer. I followed the instructions and deposited £5000 in a GBP account that the platform opened for me. This should entitle me to the maximum of £500 free shares. After making the deposit, I did not receive any email or other information that I had qualified for the offer. I tried to contact customer support in the app in order to verify this but had to deal with their chatbot Tori. Tori informed me that I had to move the £5000 in my GBP account on the platform into my main investment account (denominated in USD) in order to qualify for the offer. This would apparently automatically display a banner in the app where I would be able to accept the offer. I proceeded to do this and transferred the £5000 into the investment account. This cost me about £37 due to the conversion rate I was offered. After this, no banner was presented to me. I asked Tori about this and was informed that it could be 24/48 hours before this happened. I complained that this would take me past the 30 April cut off date for the offer. Tori said that was likely the case. I then asked to speak to customer support and was told that I had to raise a ticket. I did this and was emailed back with some standard links to FAQs that didn’t answer my issue and was informed that my case was resolved. I can no longer even talk to Tori or send a message to customer support because I have apparently reached my Tori usage limit of 30. To unlock this I have to subscribe to Tori club at £4.17 a month. Well I won’t be giving eToro any more of my money to talk to a chatbot that gives incorrect advice. I am sorry I was so foolish to open an account with eToro. They have zero customer service. I also think their terms and conditions are misleading. It simply says that depositing £5000 into the account is sufficient to qualify for the £500 welcome bonus. It’s says nothing about having to transfer the money into the USD denominated investment account and thereby losing money on the transaction. No doubt I will lose more money when I transfer this back to GBP and then withdraw my money from the platform.
It’s been 48 hours now and still no banner in the app. I feel like a fool.
