Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 259 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the products, particularly printers, to be of low quality and frequently malfunctioning, with issues like jamming, not recognizing ink cartridges, or failing to print correctly. Reviewers also expressed dissatisfaction with the high price of ink and the overall cost of the products, feeling they did not offer good value. The customer service was consistently described as poor, with consumers struggling to get effective support, encountering unhelpful agents, and facing difficulties with returns or technical assistance. Some people were dissatisfied with the service in general, citing problems with connectivity, slow operation, and the inability to print in black and white when a color cartridge was empty. Conversely, a few other people also felt that some products performed well and were satisfied with their purchase, even after many years of use.

Printer Broke in 3 Months and Epson Support Has NOT shipped my replacement

I bought an Epson ET 8550 in July, and by October it completely broke down. It had been working great at first; it could print on all kinds of papers and thicknesses. Then one day every single sheet suddenly started jamming. The rear feeder, the second tray feeder, even plain printer paper. After the last jam, something inside the printer broke, and it stopped working entirely.

I went through every troubleshooting step: cleaning cycles, maintenance checks, and the power clean (which wastes almost half of your ink tanks, by the way). Nothing helped. The printer is now completely unusable. I rely on it daily for my business, so every day without it means lost income and missed work.

I called Epson support, and they told me they would replace the printer with "expedited overnight shipping." That more than a week ago. No printer has arrived, no confirmation email, and they placed a $500 hold on my credit card for the broken unit that I am supposed to return, even though I have nothing to replace it with yet. When I call to ask about the status, they keep saying it will ship overnight, while also admitting they are having shipping issues and cannot tell me when it will actually arrive.

This has been one of the most stressful and disappointing customer experiences I have ever had. This is a $700 printer that broke after only three months, and instead of helping resolve the issue quickly, Epson’s support has only made the situation worse by lying to their customers about shipping, times, etc. I regret not going with Canon. The product failed too soon, and the lack of communication and accountability from Epson is completely unacceptable.

Customer support and Epson Store are a joke!

Bought Ink for printer 2 weeks ago. Paid extra for delivery which was supposed to be 3 days. Order is still in processing status but they charged the credit card for the full amount plus an additional amount that they cannot explain. Called Customer Support, the guy had no idea of the status of the order, no idea why I was charged extra money, no idea why the order was still not processed... bottom line a totally useless person and customer support! Will never buy from Epson Store again!!!

Expensive (over $550) home color Epson…

Expensive (over $550) home color Epson ET-8500 printer only 18 months turned off and never came back on. I’m in Philadelphia and no one services Epsons in my area. The closest Epson Service Centers are in Baltimore and New York. I was told the Philadelphia center went belly up because Epson doesn’t support their own authorized service centers. I drove to Baltimore and paid $40 for them to look at - only to have them call to tell me the repair would cost more than buying a new one. Don’t waste your money on an Epson.

Printers that works and saves a fortune on ink

My Epson EcoTank ET-3850 is a fantastic purchase that has completely eliminated my printer-related stress!

I replaced a not so great HP Envy with this , and the difference is staggering. The functionality is awesome, wireless printing is flawless, and the print quality is excellent. But the real win is the reliability and cost. It always works when I need it, and the savings on ink are substantial. No more last-minute cartridge runs or "low ink" warnings after 10 pages.

Thank you Epson !

Cash back Scam…

I bought an Epson 2856 a few weeks back from John Lewis with a £50 cash back promise. Filled in the forms, gave all the evidence and now 2 weeks later have an email saying I didn’t give my sales receipt. I definitely did. It then says to login in to my account to send the receipt. It won’t accept my customer number or my password and continually says try again. I then clicked on forgot password to get another password in case that was the problem and they said my email was invalid. 😡 Called John Lewis and they said not their problem…(I did say that if fraudulent offers are being advertised on their website then it is their problem!!) John Lewis called Epson and spoke to someone, gave me a case number and said I had to call Epson direct with my case number, I have twice now phoned and been on hold for an hour to just be cut off. An absolute scam!! I will be taking this further.

2 weeks on I have had an email from Epson saying I need to contact John Lewis to resolve this. John Lewis have told me this is a third party offer so nothing to do with them?? Basically an impossible offer to get. I have told John Lewis they shouldn’t be advertising offers that are impossible to claim as it’s false advertising!

Wish Icame here before purchasing

Wish I had viewed these reviews before I purchased an Epsom WF-2930. Its cumbersome to use, you can prinit wirelessly but to scan to a device you have to connect via cable, which they don't provide. Most of the options on the screen on the printer don't work and don't explain as to why. Just a terrible product overall

SCAM product ewaste

You cannot print in black without having full set of colour cartridges in place and they run out almost instantly. This is across all models.

So now I have a doorstop because I don’t want to buy colour inks I won’t use.

My old Canon had no problem at all printing black when I was out of colour.

Bought an Epson XP-2200 in August 2025

Bought an Epson XP-2200 in August 2025. Started having problems when I changed printer cartridges which were supplied by Epson. I am really frustrated with their customer support. Very unhelpful. Constantly being asked to email photos on a daily basis without them resolving the issue. I think it is a strategy to frustrate customers. I am done with buying any of their products. That printer is going in the bin. Back to HP products.

Epson sells their printers and then…

Epson sells their printers and then wants to charge a flat rate fee to repair that is sometimes as much as 50% of the cost of a new printer and they do not come to look at the printer first. They said that if my description is incorrect that they will charge me a flat rate fee again for the same price because I did not describe the problem correct in the first place. They do not have a network of repair persons either so third party repair is not an option. I recommend a different brand of industrial printers.

Epson WF-2930 stops printing long before ink runs out

I have an Epson WF-2930 and for some time now it keeps telling me to replace the cartridge when the cartridge still has loads of ink. It just did it again asking me to replace the cyan cartridge. The cartridge it has just asked me to remove has loads of ink washing around in it when I shake it. There is nothing I can do to get it to keep printing without changing the cartridge. Why doesn't the printer continue to print until the ink completely runs out!! I know they need to make money of the inks but this is ridiculous and deliberate on their part. Are there any inkjet printers that just run until the ink runs out??

Epson ET-4800 printer is not worth the trouble & actual support is non-existent.

I bought an Epson ET-4800 and anytime I want to print something, I have to go through the setup again. I attempted to contact Epson, but all I was able to do was answer some questions only to be given the advice to turn the printer off and then back on. I had already tried that and failed. Even if that did work, it’s insane anyone would have to do that each time. I’ve had many Epson printers in the past and NEVER had to go through this. They all woke up automatically when I sent a print job. I attempted to find a phone number for customer support, so I could speak to a human being, but was unsuccessful. I will NEVER buy from Epson again.

Bought the Epson 1810 - cashback is a scam

Bought the Epson 1810. It will do the job but I bought it as £30 cashback. What a load of rubbish. I got it set up and box went to recycling. Just tried to put in my claim. Claim keeps being rejected. They want proof of purchase which I gave. Then a jpg or pdf of serial number cut out on box - which I got rid of! They won’t accept image of serial number on actual printer and then they want another jpg or pdf image of something else. Given up now! Shocking. All they needed was proof of purchase!

Update! After leaving this review I got a call the following day from a lady at Epson. She checked my application and it was all correct and she confirmed the cash back was going to be issued. Epson need to sort out their app as this is what is encouraging bad reviews. I have altered my star rating from 1 to 3 as I shouldn’t have had to write this reviews and spend hours trying to sort out. But many thanks to Jean who dealt with my complaint swiftly and efficiently.

Epson blocks generic ink despite Supreme Court ruling!

The U.S. Supreme Court (Impression Products v. Lexmark, 2017) made it clear that once you buy a product, the company can't control how you use it - including refilling or using third-party cartridges. Yet Epson pushes firmware updates that disable generic ink, forcing you to buy their overpriced cartridges anyway. It feels like a greedy workaround to dodge the law and trap customers. I regret buying Epson and strongly warn others: don't waste your money, choose another brand

I bought an ET - 8210

I bought an ET – 8210. I use it with my iPhone. Every time I use it there are connectivity problems it can’t find the printer or it sits there endlessly trying to print a document. The paper feed is useless, are usually have half a dozen goes at getting the paper Into the right spot before it works. Sometimes it just prints the binary file rather than the word document orbPDF and just comes out as a massive list of control characters. If I change my SSID on my Wi-Fi I have to reset the printer , hard reset it to get it to accept a new Wi-Fi network. There is an option to update the Wi-Fi connection but it just says you have one already I will use that one and then won’t print. I have to say every time , every single time I use this printer there are a range of problems often taking me an hour to print out a few pages in black-and-white. I know my experience is just a one off, but this experience leads me to never wanting to buy an Epson printer again.

EPSON WF-2950 & Epson ReadyPrint - nightmare

Purchased an EPSON WorkForce WF-2950 over a year ago. It was tricky to get working on my HP computer but finally I thought it was OK. Then I was persuaded to try their ReadyPrint service, I dont print a lot so paid £2.99 a month - their promise "you'll never run out of ink again" is simply not true. I came back from holiday and needed to print and the black cartridge was empty. Epson took ages to respond so I bought a generic cartridge locally and cancelled the contract. I did not realise that this would effectively disable to the printer - as it still had colour ink in it from the ReadyPrint contract! Just a nightmare!
I would never buy their products again as the customer service is so poor. My printer is still not functioning a month later, it may yet be taken to the recycling centre as its a piece of junk.

Epson et2860 the best printer I have ever used by far.

I purchased my Epson et2860 printer from Robert Dyas in Sevenoaks
I wasn't the cheapest printer I have purchased but it is certainly the best
The Robert Dyas Staff helped me to set the printer up
The ink tank is wonderful and the ink has lasted well over 12 months with no problems whatsoever
It scans, prints, copies sends exactly what I want it to do
It is well worth the price and the lack of attention to keep it running without problems is wonderful
It is compact, easy to use and the control panel is the easiest and best I have ever used 5 stars plus
Thank you for producing such a reliable, compact and wonderful printer
Thank you also to Robert dyas sevenoaks best wishes to all
