Poor management

During my recent visit to Enish on 25/10/23, an unfortunate incident transpired, leading to significant inconvenience. While dining, an accidental spill of cola bottles occurred, resulting in damage to my attire, footwear, and newly purchased phone speaker. Despite bringing the matter to the attention of the manager, the response provided failed to address the issue adequately. Consequently, I settled the bill in full, amounting to 150 pounds. Regrettably, the manner in which this situation was handled left me dissatisfied, prompting me to withhold any recommendation for this establishment

Wrong orders !

So l am not one to spoil people’s business reputation but l have to say this is truly the last time l will be ordering from Enish. The grilled fish always has scales still on it. Like once or twice is ok but every time l have ordered it’s been the same. This is the 3rd time, at least, l have ordered take away only to get home and my order is wrong. I do not eat beef and anything from cow and for me to open the container and find all manner of assorted meat is a put off. After spending so much money only to find the people are not attentive to orders is just not professional. If you don’t have what l ask for just say so. I live far away and honestly driving back to complain is a loss to me. This is ridiculous. I have now come to conclude the food is over priced and the restaurant is over hyped. We are all for supporting African owned businesses but this is one I will no longer support.

ENISH ILFORD AVOID!!!

ENISH ILFORD: AVOID! I would give it a NO star if that was available but let’s leave it at 1-star at least for our server who was polite!

Food was horrible! The asun was fried meat in watery gravy. The suya, was not suya-ing and like a pinch of meat. The presentation for the fish was POOR! Some came out without the tails and the peppers for garnish looked like the were pulled from the freezer. The edikaikong I could throw up. HORRIBLE! For that price I would rather not have 2-3 tablespoons of spinach as a substitute waterleaf and Ugwu with just one beef. I mean I could go on but… oh I have to mention the fish came in COLD & definitely wasn’t fresh. Like it was reheated

AVOID

AVOID! Sorry to say but the food is over-rated and over-priced also the staff are extremely unprofessional.
My first experience at Enish Africa on Old Kent Road and I'll never be going back.
Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 young girls at the reception in such a deep gossip that I had to greet them twice to get a response. One of them was on her phone leaned against the wall and was asked to check for a free table, she rolled her eyes with such attitude and came back and said no. That's all, didnt offer an alternative. Another member of staff overheard and thankfully, completely took over service. She seated us somewhere promptly. Later that evening, the same young lady with an awful attitude comfortably walked over to the buffet area and took a piece of chicken on a napkin and began eating. It was actually embarrassing to see, as this is someone who is representing the restaurant and has set such a low standard its unreal. When I asked Miss attitude if there were any sauces that did not have meat in she laughed and said "no, I don't think so" and told me to take the gravy from the meat dishes which I found very unhelpful as I'm vegetarian. Well anyway, I later found the sauces that i was looking for. However, this rude girl ruined the entire experience and I would never recommend to anyone.
As for the food, dry, dry, dry and if it wasn't dry it was dripping in oil. The decor appears nice, but the tables are all wonky and out of balance, the chairs are dirty, the floor tiles are cracked and out of place and paint on the walls is all chipped away. Overall a very scruffy, unpleasant environment, I didn't even want to use the bathroom and after having a glimpse at the state of their kitchen I'm glad I hadn't. We left early and ate elsewhere. AVOID!

Enish Oxford Street

My friend and I decided to try out Enish Oxford Street. The vibe was nice and so was the food, but I have an issue with their service. I ordered Egusi and pounded yam. When the egusi came it looked a bit small to me, but I just left it thinking maybe this was their usual size. But the guy on the table next to us ordered egusi too and I could see his bowl from where I was sitting because the tables were so close. His bowl was full to the brim with egusi. It felt like the Enish staff served my portion based on my size, assuming that I couldn't finish a lot of soup (but I'm the type of person that likes a lot of soup). I think that's very wrong, their portions should be consistent regardless of a person's size. Definitely made me feel like they gave him that much because he was a guy. And even if I was unable to finish it, I've paid the same price as the next person, so I should be free to take the rest home if I decide to (btw he couldn't even finish it, it was that plenty).

Went to Enish Ilford for a birthday party meal. The waitress Moji was so rude.Orders were not served on time. The food was cold and not even worthy the price we paid for.Moji has no customer care at all.Lights were switched off during the meal and our table was set next to a very loud speaker we couldn't even hear each other and noone bothered to turn the volume down even after asking . Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone

Bad Experience

Enish - ilford I don't think I have ever experienced such terrible service before

On sat 4th of March it was my birthday Priscilla Machaya. It was my 50th birthday and this waitress called Moji spoiled it for me, my family and friends. Moji was so rude from the word go, the whole evening she was miserable. Moji's attitude was acceptable, the most miserable waitress I have ever seen. The food also didn't come all together part of my food came way after I had finished eating, we had to ask for containers to put our leftover food. We asked Moji for containers of which she didn't communicate that we had to pay for, at the time for us to pay our bill Moji started shouting and scream at us because we questioned why she had not communicated that before giving us the containers. I don't think it's right for Enish to charge customers for containers considering the money people spent inside. I am not sure if I can recommend the restaurant!!

Enish Ilford - worst dining experience ever!

Went to Enish Ilford for a birthday meal with a group of friends. The waitress Moji was the rudest waitress I have ever come across. The food served was cold, lights were turned off while we were eating, we were sitting right next to an extremely loud speaker so we couldn’t even have a conversation. When we ordered our individual meals, one of my friends even had to apologise to waitress who was upset because she decided to order something else. On top of that, we had food left over which we wanted to take away and we were charged for that. When I questioned the waitress, she wouldn’t explain and said I told you before I gave you the containers, which she didn’t and she was very confrontational and borderline violent. Her behaviour was shocking and even told her that’s not how you treat customers in this country! Not going back there that’s for sure.

We were a party of three

We were a party of three, our food arrived at different times which would have been fine had we been informed of this, and not a whole meal brought to any of us i.e. meat arrived then a wait for rice and other side dishes. One of our party had to enquire several times before their meal arrived, however when it did arrive it was cold and had to be returned to the kitchen. The staff were helpful and welcoming but our food and the wait time was very disappointing.

Omar's house aka Enish Restaurant

First and last time that we will visit enish. The food was wonderful, no issues there. The cost of the main course for two we choose was ok I guess for the area, however what let down the evening for us, was the young impatient rude and also very undermining boy they had meeting customers. If we was asked if we would return to enish, the answer would be no,based on the customer service we received today from Omar .

If you want a terrible Nigerian meal…

If you want a terrible Nigerian meal experience at the most outrageous prices in London try Enish Restaurant, 299 Finchley Road, London NW3 6DT. They are guaranteed not to disappoint in delivery of bad service and dubious quality food with a minimum wait time of 30 minutes per order (in my case this evening it was 47 minutes). The waiter had to be called to take our drinks order after a protracted argument about him not being able to take an order of dodo (fried plantain) with egusi & stockfish because the Enish system only allowed swallow with soup meals. The bill then came (£130.41) and I Was stupid enough to ask for a bag to take away their jaw-breakingly unchewable stockfish that I had been served (in the hope of recooking at home as I lke stockfish) only for them to return with a new bill including an extra £1 for their branded plastic throwaway pack - like seriously? I was so disgusted, I paid and left them with pack, stockfish and egusi to come let off steam by writing this post. I work with entrepreneurs and can only imagine what the owner of Enish must be going through as surely my experience cannot be unique. Oh well looks like we just can rise to international standards when it comes to serving our own people wether at home or abroad. Shame

Enish LEWISHAM

Enish LEWISHAM, asked for medium heat goat, blew our heads off so hot. Amala was watery with no flavour and the egusi again had absolutely no flavour. £65 spent. Don’t waste your money

Please go else where with your money.

My order arrived 2 hours later and the food was very cold. My order was also missing a very crucial item “assorted meat”. The quantity was terribly small, put in the smallest plastic bowl there is. I tried to rectify by calling the restaurant but the number constantly went to voicemail mail. I spent £49.98 on my order and was not happy at all. This restaurant is a waste of hard earned money.

YOU WONT GET YOUR MEAL

I went to the restaurant in Oxford Street with a group of my friends!! What a disaster.
We waited for our food for over 1 hour, when my daughter’s food arrived, it was cold! Wow! Eating cold jollof rice is not the highlight of my experience. Then it gets worse. I never got to eat my meal, cos it never came, some of the guests left and went to another restaurant nearby! To think I was going to book this place for my daughters birthday! It would have been a disaster and the day would have been ruined. Never ever will I visit Enish!! If only you will improve, but like most Nigerian restaurants l, you don’t care! You ruined the atmosphere for us that night!! Way to go Enish!!

ILLFORD BRANCH MANAGER. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERR!!

I WOULD GIVE A 0 IF I COULD......So i booked a table for 15 people and paid a deposit however when we arrived there were only 10 chairs, not to worry we were provided more chairs to accommodate my guest. We proceeded to order our meals which came in odd timing like 1 persons meal came and then 10mins later another.

The people who had been giving their food all stated the jollof rice was tasteless and the mashe i believe its call was disgusting, Asun was dry, the only thing nice was the plaintain, we ended up cancelling the rest of the meal that had not been brought out or cooked. The manager came over to speak to us to say we have to still pay even if we didn't eat it, he was speaking to my guest who had nothing to do with the booking, she pointed him to my direction to discuss, he was across the table and was speaking i said to him i couldn't hear him with the loud music and if he could come closer, he said "i can hear you from here" i said but i cant its loud he decided to roll his eyes and walk off.

Now end of the night i asked for the bill and to my surprise all the meals that were cancelled were added to it, after several deliberation they were removed and payment made. After making payment to the lovely young lady who served us the manager came up to her in front of us and said "How much did they pay? hope its everything" i was shocked at how unprofessional this man was.

I approached him and asked if i could speak with him for a min he said YES?, i smiled and told him that the lady who served us was polite and patient however the service he has provided today has been very unprofessional and i am shocked he is the manager, as the face of the brand in that branch it is detrimental that he keeps professional at all times most especially when the customer is not being unreasonable or rude.

His response was to point his finger in my face and wiggle it while saying "I am a man you don't speak to me like that, if you saw me outside you will not speak to me, i am not your level" all this was being said with his finger still in my face. I asked him to remove his finger from my face and he said "or what" he became very aggressive to the point were the security and staff had to apologize to me one actually said he is always arguing with customers, this did not stop him until my male guest realized there was an issue and came over at this point he went and hid.

This is by far the worse customer service i have ever received EVER! honestly i couldn't make this up, and to make it worse got food poisoning and have been throwing up all day, been in bed since. I would most definitely not be returning to this place. Dear Enish establishment kindly provide customer training to the manager, he definitely needs communication and people skills and not see women as being beneath him. Thank you

80th birthday event- Enish Finchley

Our family had an event booked this weekend for our mother’s birthday and I don’t know what I was expecting having not been to the Enish restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

Their service was great for a group of 50. Demi and Carina were amazing in ensuring our guest were well looked after on the day.

Being a decent Nigerian cook, I’m not usually impressed with eating Nigerian food outside of my house. However, the food at Enish was top notch! Please I beg you people, keep your cook!!! 😃 they did a fantastic job!!!

My only advice if there was anything to add is that perhaps limiting group size for future events to about 35.

I’d quite happily give additional stars if I was able😁
