Thought we would give them a try today

Thought we would give them a try today. Tables and chairs not wiped down and were covered in food. Misreable staff that didnt seem to careless. Shouldnt be working there if you cant be bothered. Food was terrible. Worst chicken burger and chips I ever had. My lasses steak had barely any flavor at all. All in all terrible experience and wont be going there ever again.

Not good……

Booked a table for Mothers Day at Saltburn restaurant.
We weren’t offered drinks before ordering and had to ask for them. Food was ok but nobody checked, wife had to leave table mid meal to order more drinks from bar. Ordered sides which had to re-request twice, had to ask for cutlery as well.
To top it all, bill came and was overcharged by £80 (£240 instead of £160) AND they had the cheek to add a 10% service charge without asking.
Sorry but won’t be returning.

Poor quality food and service

We visited Tomahawk Durham last weekend for Bottomless brunch. My Parmo was raw! Mentioned to a female member of staff who said, thats just how they come! She eventually agreed to change it. I asked for a well done steak, which came out half well done and half pink. I sent an email complaint with photos to the email address the restaurant provided and didn’t get a reply. Wont be using this particular Tomahawk ever again.

Really poor- bad food, high prices

Really poor. The lady who was waitressing was nice enough but the food was absolutely terrible, like the type that you think about later and makes you feel sick. Had to send my meal back once, and I’ve never ever done that before- then when it come back it was just as bad but I had it since my family had already finished. I asked if they did a kids menu, she said she could just modify for us and then just give us less and charged the same. I told them how awful our experience had been, and they still charged us full.

Front of house need process improvement.

Visited today after booking a table in Saltburn. Food and drink ordered. Drinks were brought to the table within 5 minutes. After over an hour I complained that other tables that had come in half an hour after us had been fed and finished.
Apparently something something with the ticket but the food hadn’t even been started.
Only had 2 hours on parking (short stay so couldn’t extend) so by the time the food had been cooked we’d have been wolfing it down. Ended up leaving.

Mistakes happen but this is systemic. There were no checks from staff for drinks top ups or even if we were waiting for anything. Basic front of house checks.

To add insult to injury, instead of Tomahawk lunch ended up in a Wetherspoons as that’s what the kids ended up picking as an alternative. Sad face emoji doesn’t cover it.

Newcastle quayside

Newcastle quayside

Pre ordered food so didn't take to long food was nice but the service was terrible waiting 15 20 mins for drink plugged in heaters on floor which tripped over (health and safety)
We were in group and had service charge of 105 pound which was disgusting which was probably the worst part wish I knew now we could take that off but there was nothing on booking or stated when paying about this charge been once and would advise people to try elsewhere if you want good service staff flying all over with food managers arguing it wasn't a good experience SERVICE CHARGE pfffffft

Quayside

Quayside, Newcastle Gateshead.
We had a table booked for a family's 40th birthday. There were quite a few of us so we had to pressurise book our meals, we waited quite a while for drinks although the food came pretty fast because we had already ordered it. I cant knock the food as it was lovely but the service wasnt great. When we asked for the bill it took a while to come and no one told us we had a service charge on. I paid my food ans left as I had a taxi waiting but then the host was left with a washing 105 pout service charge which we weren't told about. Transparency is everything, if you make people aware there is a charge on first. Also our consumer rights say we dont have to pay a service charge especially if ghe service wasnt great. We will not be back in a hurry .

Would give 0/5 if I could.
Booked ahead for son's 16th birthday. My son chose this restaurant as we had visited last year snd had a good experience. What a mistake, regret not reading reviews.
There were five of us eating at Newcastle quayside. Table was not ready. Restaurant very busy. Waited over 15 mins in bar area with staff squeezing past us and a few other parties, carrying food.
Got to table, five of us squeezed onto a table for four. ordered and waited over 15 mins for drinks and 1 hour 20 mins for food. Waiter apologised and said it was restaurant week.
We were offered a round of drinks on the house.
Waiter forgot table water, acknowledged this and still didn't bring any. Some arrived after we had eaten.

Could have overlooked the long wait had the food been of a good standard.
Steaks were not cooked to how we had requested.
Chicken shawarma was lukewarm and grisly.
Wagyu burger had bit of lettuce in, that's it. Very dry.
Prawn taco was a taco shell identical to an Old El Paso supermarket hard shell taco. Inedible.
Garlic bread, thick, hard, burnt base with no flavour.
After such a long wait, we just ate what we could and left.

Our table was squashed in corner over fire exit, very drafty, whole annexe at side of restaurant had no ambience like main restaurant, very cold. Kept coats on throughout. Portable heater plugged in did nothing.
When I mentioned to waiter he said they had a problem with the electrics that day.
Only one mens toilet working and door lock broken.
Ladies toilet, waitress ran in and was vomiting in cubicle while another comforted her from outside.
Do not waste your hard earned money here.

Honest review

Walked in and was seated all seemed good, ordered drinks pleasant staff, and thats where it ended wrong drinks were delivered to table and we waited 1 hour 30 mins for our food order we weren't the only one several other tables were very verbal that they had been waiting well over an hour for food when our food eventually arrived it's was very poor and not very warm, the so called scallops were six pieces of scallop no bigger than a kidney bean, 4 prawns we had were cold the calamari was disgusting. The steak was over cooked, we put a complaint in to the waitress but this was never followed up and no one came back to speak to us, Then the bill arrived with a service charge of £28 pound which we had removed. I wouldn't recommend

When we entered the restaurant we were…

When we entered the restaurant we were told we needed to be served quickly one hour 15 minutes later food arrived. The food was lovely but the service was atrocious the waitress was clearly unhappy no customer skill's what's so ever. When we ordered desserts her face hit the floor she was rude and very abrupt on serving the desserts we were told we needed to be quick as the table was needed for the next sitting who were waiting to be seated. We received the bill and on inspection we noticed they had put a surcharge on of £31.11p we would have gladly paid this if the service was up to scratch but unfortunately it was not. Totally spoilt the night of my friends 60th birthday

I was really disappointed with Tomahawk…

I was really disappointed with Tomahawk Steakhouse. The service was poor from the start. Staff seemed uninterested and disengaged, and we often felt like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Simple requests took far too long, and there was no sense of care or attention throughout the meal.

The food was just as underwhelming. For a place that puts steak at the center of its menu, the quality was unacceptable. Our steaks arrived overcooked and dry, nowhere near how they were ordered. Overall, the experience fell well below expectations and didn’t justify the price. I wouldn’t recommend it based on our visit.

Terrible from start to finish

I’m really disappointed with my recent visit to Tomahawk Steakhouse. We waited over half an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, everything was only just warm. The parsnip was rock hard, the chips were more like crisps than proper chips, and the side dish of vegetables was dry, burnt, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heater for hours.

A member of staff asked how our meal was when we had barely eaten anything, so we said it was “okay” at the time, but later raised the issues properly. Despite multiple problems with the food, they only took the beef dripping chips off the bill, which felt like a very poor attempt at addressing the situation.

We also had to wait another half an hour after finishing to even get the bill, and when I complained, the manager shook his head at me and came across with a really unprofessional attitude.

Overall, the food quality, service, and attitude from management were all extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning and definitely wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

Nice experience

Went with a friend to the Tomahawk at Acklam Hall this morning, what a different experience from the previous visit. Staff as usual very pleasant, but everything on time , coffee and food first class and no waiting times. All round a much better experience, so credit where credit due.

Ruins the peaceful Saltburn beach

Saltburn beach sadly is no longer the peaceful place it was as this restaurant has nonstop extremely loud music blasting out .
No other venue in a city would be allowed to blast music at this volume and ruin the peacefulness for miles around.
We wanted to hear the Saltburn sea shanties group on Friday at 6pm but nobody could hear them because Tomahawk was blasting 80s songs at the most extreme volume.
Half the beach now has to put up with this extreme music all day and most of the night with no break. For the customers and staff the music levels must be at a point where their hearing is being permanently damaged

Male staff don’t wash their hands

Went to Saltburn-By-The-Sea restaurant, wish I hadn’t wasted £56. Male staff don’t wash their hands, I literally witnessed 2 young males who worked here come out of the cubicles in the toilets and rinse their hands under the tap for 2 secs with no soap and didn’t even bother to dry them they just walked straight out, so watch out folks because you might find you have human feces on your food.

To top it off, the chef here cannot make a Parmo to save his life, absolute abomination and it was falling apart into mush, he can’t be a true Teessider.

This place needs complete new management, ripping people off just isnt right.

Went to the saltburn one tonight, had a nightmare booking as no one would answer phone or return voicemail. Service was average and 3 out of 5 had a bad stomach afterwards. 200 quid well spent at least i know not to go back

Do not order the sharing platter, total rip off

We come to Newcastle often from Glasgow and had seen some great revies for this steakhouse. Such a dissapointment. We ordered the sharing platter and had 2 cuts of ribeye that were inedible as it was basically just fat and gristle, no meat on there whatsoever. I am sure whoever got the other part of that ribeye steak enjoyed the meat. The flat iron steak was terrible, also inedible, full of sinew and very chewy. The waitress offered to take the 10% service charge off the bill however it was not her fault so we refused. No other offer of a discount or refund, it was very disappointing for £85. Such a shame
