In Queenstown New Zealand they advertise their car rental supplier Scotties as being an in terminal pick up location but Scotties themselves confirmed that they are definitely NOT in terminal.
Then they make cancellation difficult...far from "Easy"
What a waste of my time...

Competitive price, pickup waiting, first in so waiting and the car was what we wanted.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
We hired a car with Hertz in Menorca through easyCar when booking our flights. The pickup went fine and the car was good. When we returned the vehicle there were no staff so we left the keys in the drop box as instructed. I went to the arrivals desk and spoke with a Hertz colleague there. He confirmed he was the only staff member working that day, and he would be heading to the car park to check vehicles back in once he had finished with all the pickups scheduled on an arriving flight.
A week later I noticed a charge on my credit card for Hertz I wasn’t expecting. It turns out Hertz have charged me for an extra days rental due to the car being returned late, however at the return time they logged, we were in the air on our flight home! It was clear to us that the agent had logged it back at the time he eventually went to the car park and not when it was actually returned.
I disputed this and they have not replied. I tried to also dispute this through easyCar who also spoke to Hertz and received the same response.
I provided multiple pieces of evidence that the car was in fact returned on time. This includes a time stamped photo of the car in the returns area 1 hour before it was due back, a credit card statement showing a purchase on our plane and a record of our flight departing on time, which was before Hertz say the car was returned, as well as a check in receipt and the car park ticket with an arrival time for when we arrived at the return car park. All show that the car was returned early!
After an extremely large amount of emails, easyCar have kept repeating that the Hertz policy is that if the car is late, a whole day is charged. I have explained to them multiple times that I acknowledge and accept the terms of the agreement, and I would have no problem paying, but my issue is not with the rental conditions, it’s that I did not return the car late, it was on time. I will not accept a charge that is simply because Hertz do not have enough staff to check in cars on time. They need a more robust system to make sure cars are logged in properly when returned.
Despite this, and all the evidence, easyCar still repeat the same copy and paste of Hertz conditions and are refusing to review the case properly. They refuse to tell me what they need to fight the case and simply say that the case is closed.
Whatever you do, do not book a car with this company. You may get lucky and everything goes well, but if anything goes wrong you will have the most frustrating time trying to resolve it. Their customer service is abysmal! Avoid at all costs.
As of writing this issue is still unsolved 3 months post the rental date. We are currently exploring legal options to pursue this.

The car stunk of cigarette smoke was not clean cigarette ash over the heater and dashboard

Booking very easy, price correct, car not in a good condition.
Beware of ever using this platform! First they gave us the wrong car pickup address. Then the vehicle provided was unsafe to drive (engine overheated, cylinder not working, major oil leak). We cancelled the car but Easycar refused to refund the insurance we bought from them and the customer service provided was disgraceful.

Extremely Disappointed – No Car, No Refund
I booked a car with easyCar for an important personal trip. Upon arrival, the company refused to provide the vehicle, citing a security check issue, despite my UK residency and valid address.
I asked for a refund, but for over four months, I have received repeated delays and refusals. The customer service acknowledges my frustration but insists on adhering to their Terms and Conditions, offering no alternative solution.
This experience caused significant stress, as I had planned to pick up my wife from the airport after five years. I strongly caution others to be aware of this policy and lack of flexibility.

SCAM COMPANY – FALSE ADVERTISING, HIDDEN FEES, REFUSES REFUNDS, AND LIES TO CUSTOMERS
This company operates with misleading practices, false information, and complete disrespect for EU consumer law.
I booked a car on 13 November 2025 for 15 November.
There was zero mention of a required more than €4,000 credit card deposit during the booking process.
Only AFTER paying did they reveal this absurd requirement — a clear violation of transparency obligations.
I cancelled the booking within 1 minute.
The service was never provided.
Their website claims “FREE CANCELLATION”.
Yet EasyCar:
• kept 100% of my money,
• refused to refund a service they NEVER delivered,
• sent weeks of copy-paste nonsense,
• repeatedly lied that “my bank is handling a chargeback” —
even though:
• I did not pay with a bank card,
• no chargeback exists,
• PayPal confirmed in writing that EasyCar issued NO refund,
• and PayPal confirmed that ONLY the merchant can refund this payment.
This is not incompetence —
this is deliberate misleading behaviour, violating:
• EU Directive 2011/83 – Right of Withdrawal
• EU Directive 2005/29 – Unfair Commercial Practices
• Basic consumer rights
• Their OWN “Free Cancellation” policy
I am now escalating this case to:
• ECC Spain
• CCPC Ireland
• European Consumer Protection Network
• UK Trading Standards
People deserve to know how this company treats its customers.
This is the kind of behaviour expected from scam websites, not from a supposed rental platform.
Avoid EasyCar at all costs.
They do not provide transparency.
They do not honour refunds.
They do not follow the law.
Make a legal actions against them!

these are the worst please please do not use them they still owe my daughter her money back from July, they have closed the case 3 times and not told us, just hoping we will go away and give up, the amount is around £75!!!
Should be zero stars. Charged £200 deposit and received no hire car.
Easycar offer very, very cheap hire cars via Goldcar at Malaga airport but there is no intention to supply cars.
I was refused car hire initially for having a paper driving license and on discussion Goldcar decided a UK passport is not valid ID in Spain! I got quotes for several car hire firms in the terminal who were all happy to supply a car. During my 2 hours in the terminal getting a hire car, I met two other families in the same situation. Goldcar had refused one family for having an embossed credit card!
Easycar (case 02963078) ignore all correspondence and mark complaints as resolved. I am pursuing a refund through my credit card.
My experience with EasyCar has been extremely disappointing. I first submitted a refund request on 30 August 2025 (Claim #02957008) and received absolutely no response for weeks.
When I booked through EasyCar , the terms clearly stated that the young driver surcharge only applied to ages 21–22. However, once I arrived at the Carwiz desk, I was unexpectedly forced to pay an additional €100 fee that did not apply to my age group according to EasyCar’s own conditions (+24 years old). I was told that the booking would be cancelled if I didn’t pay, completely unacceptable and misleading.
On top of this, EasyCar advertised a €500 deposit, but the rental company demanded €1,450 upon arrival, nearly three times more than what was shown during the booking process.
After contacting EasyCar multiple times about these issues, they created a second complaint (#03007448) in October… yet I still have received no clear answer, no follow-up and no resolution. This level of customer service is simply unacceptable.
The entire experience shows a serious lack of transparency and reliability. I cannot recommend this company, misleading policies, unexpected charges, and almost non-existent customer support. Avoid.

> ❌ Avoid Green Motion Marrakech / Hire Auto GP!
I rented a car through a broker and returned it to this branch. Two staff members — one with braces on his teeth and another with dark skin and dark hair — falsely accused me of causing a tiny scratch that was already on the car.
The original inspection was done at night in poor lighting, so that mark couldn’t even be seen.
When I returned the car, they forced me to sign a paper without letting me read it, and one of them asked me to pay him cash personally to “settle it.” When I refused, they processed a 3,000 MAD card charge even though my deposit had already been released.
The man with braces even told me it was my fault for booking through a broker and that I should have booked directly with them.
I told them I am diabetic, that I was shaking and dehydrated from the stress — they didn’t care at all and kept pressuring me.
Their office is not inside the airport but on a busy highway, and you depend entirely on their shuttle to reach your flight — impossible to leave on foot, especially when travelling with children and luggage.
My bank later confirmed the payment was fraudulent, refunded me, and replaced my card.
Extremely dishonest and heartless behaviour. Avoid this company and use a proper airport-based rental instead.

Disgusting selling cars knowingly not road worthy. Haven’t even had the car a week catastrophic failures with the turbo and other things to many to mention. If you are unlucky enough to get drawn in by these clowns do your diligence and get it checked by another reputable garage for your own piece of mind

I made a booking to rent a car, when I was on the desk to collect the car they simply turned up saying I could take the car because of something they check. They couldn’t even explain to me what the check was about. They didn’t refund the money, however I met all their criteria’s that was displayed on the website, still didn’t give the car or refund my money, so I lost £450. Awful experience. I went to Sixt rental car company and they gave me a full electric car for the same price, because there was no tubing wrong with my ID, credit card or driving licence. I don’t recommend easycar!
