About Dyson
Dyson was founded on the idea of solving problems that others ignore; vacuum cleaners that clog and lose suction, hand dryers that are energy hungry and don't work, and hair technology that relies on extreme temperatures and cause heat damage.
Since it was established in the UK in 1993, Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a global technology company with an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists at its core.
Today, Dyson machines are sold in over 65 countries. From cordless vacuum cleaners to air purifiers to hair dryers ; a whole new generation of technology has made its way into the hands of Dyson owners around the world.

Don't waste your money
Bought a Dyson cool fan to help with hot temperatures, especially during the night. It looks nice, is lightweight and quite powerful but it's no better than any other tower fan you could probably pick up for £50 or so. It just blows warm air around like any other fan and is about the same noise level. Do not waste £300+ on one of these. So disappointed with this.
Bought a Dyson BP01 from the Dyson Outlet
Bought a Dyson BP01 from the Dyson outlet. When it arrived it was faulty. Sent it straight back for repair. Arrived back a couple of days later but still faulty. Returned to Dyson for a refund. It got back to Dyson on 18th June (I have DPD confirmation). Have been chasing ever since and despite phoning 3 times and emailing once I am still waiting for a refund a month later. A lot of money for a pensioner to be waiting for. They did say originally that it would take 2 weeks for the refund to come through but they are still stalling.
Next-day delivery" is a lie. Useless, scripted customer service. Avoid.
I ordered a HushJet Mini Cool fan direct from Dyson on Thursday 9th July. Both the website and my order confirmation explicitly promised "Free next business day delivery" (expected Friday 10th).
Later on the 9th, they sent an email claiming the order had been shipped, complete with a DPD tracking number. However, DPD’s system showed they were "expecting the parcel"—proving Dyson had generated a label but never actually handed the physical stock over.
When I contacted customer service on Monday 13th, the stalling tactics began:
Excuse 1: They sent a copy-paste template claiming standard delivery takes "up to 10 working days"—completely ignoring the "next day" term of my order.
Excuse 2: When challenged, they claimed they had "raised an investigation with the courier" and told me to wait another 6 working days. (Useless, considering DPD openly show Dyson had never handed them the parcel).
Excuse 3: I formally requested to cancel the order under my consumer rights. They completely ignored the refund request and sent another generic "holding" email saying they were "awaiting an update."
Having looked at other reviews, it is clear that using generic scripted emails to drag out delivery times and hold onto customer money is standard practice for Dyson. I have stopped wasting my time replying to their scripted emails and have initiated a chargeback with my bank for goods not received.
A terrible experience from a brand that has completely lost its way. Save yourself the headache and buy elsewhere.
Customer service in name only
I ordered a cooling fan with a promise of next day delivery. I have not received the order and I can’t track it. I have phoned their customer service who said there was some system issues. They said they would be in touch in 3 to 5 days ! I asked to speak with someone in authority who could resolve my issue, but they have no way of connecting with their ‘back office’. I have to admit I thought Dyson were reputable but clearly I have been misled looking at other reviews on here. I can’t even get my money back because my order isn’t showing up on their system despite them calling on the money from my bank. I have asked them to get someone to call me who is capable of resolvin* the issue, but I’m really not holding my breath ! No point in having a cooling fan after the heatwave is over.
Ordered the Hushjet - nothing arrived
Ordered the Hushjet handheld fan for next day delivery. Still not arrived. Still no update. DPD don’t have… the customer service is an abomination. They can’t see anything other than what I see, so it makes the team redundant. There is no direct customer line for complaints. I’ve had the exact same experience last Christmas with a hoover and I thought it was a one off. It seems that this is their best practice, which is to say it’s the worst kind of practice. Shocking.
LOST ORDER AND PAYMENT TAKEN !
I have always regarded Dyson as a premium brand, but my experience purchasing directly from Dyson has been extremely disappointing.
Late one evening I ordered a Dyson fan through the Dyson UK website. The checkout completed successfully, my credit card was authorised, and I reached an Order Confirmation page displaying an order number. Fortunately, I took a screenshot because I never received the confirmation email.
The following day I contacted Dyson to ask why no email had arrived. To my surprise, I was told there was no record of my order whatsoever. Despite providing the order number from the confirmation screen, customer services were unable to locate it and simply said it would be referred to another department. No explanation, no reassurance and no indication of when the issue would be resolved.
The most frustrating part is that payment has been authorised on my credit card, yet Dyson cannot tell me whether my order exists. The fan has been difficult to obtain due to limited stock, and I now face the possibility of missing out because of what appears to be a failure in Dyson's own ordering system.
For a company positioning itself as a premium brand, I expected far better. A premium product should be backed by premium customer service, with staff empowered to investigate and resolve problems rather than simply saying, "We have no record of your order."
I sincerely hope Dyson resolves this quickly, but at present I have paid for a product, have an order confirmation screenshot, and yet Dyson cannot even confirm that my order exists. That is simply not the level of service I expected.
Appalling customer service
I have been a customer of Dyson for over 20 years i have only ever owned dyson hoovers. I always associated Dyson with premium products and excellent customer service. I have a 3 year old hoover in perfect condition, that has a faulty De-tangling motor, so I placed an order for a replacement part. I chose to purchase from them directly which I have always done in the past. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been nothing short of disgraceful.
My original order was placed on 28 June. Since then, I have spent almost three weeks chasing my order with multiple phone calls. During one of those calls I was informed there had been a system error, which resulted in a second order having to be created. Despite this, I have now received two generic email responses telling me that my order is "within the estimated delivery timeframe" and that there are "no delays reported". These responses completely ignore the fact that my original order was placed nearly three weeks ago and that my order history on my customer file clearly shows what has happened.
To make matters worse, when I asked to make a formal complaint, I was told over the phone that there was no email address for complaints and that my complaint would have to be forwarded to another department, after which I would have to wait for them to contact me. I found this completely unacceptable.
I eventually submitted my complaint in writing, only to receive generic responses that failed to address a single issue I had raised. It is obvious that nobody had taken the time to review my customer file or the recorded telephone conversations before replying.
I have also noticed that the payment has been released back to my account more than once, which only adds to my concern that there are ongoing issues with my order, despite being repeatedly told everything is progressing normally.
The most disappointing part of this experience is not only the delay itself as i have not been able to hoover my house for nearly 3 weeks and i have my mums 70th bday party at my house this weekend and its causing me unwanted stress. I can not afford to simple go out and buy another hoover, as my hoover is in excellent condition apart from the faulty De-tangling motor. Im disgusted by the complete lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to properly investigate my complaint. I have spent hours chasing something that should have been straightforward, yet I still have no meaningful response or resolution.
I am appalled by the level of customer service I have received from a company with Dyson's reputation. I sincerely hope senior management reads this review because the way this has been handled has fallen far below the standard I expected. I will update this review if Dyson finally takes my complaint seriously and resolves the matter.
My Very Disappointing Experience
My order has been under investigation since 9 July because it was never collected by DPD. The tracking number provided by Dyson has never become active, yet I have been left without my product and without a refund.
Today I spoke to Marianna in customer service, who was rude, refused to escalate my complaint, and would not issue a refund. I bought the fan for the hot weather in London, but Dyson keeps telling me to “wait” with no clear timeframe.
Customers should not be left without a product or a refund because of issues between Dyson and DPD. Very disappointing customer service.
I ordered the dyson car and boat…
I ordered the dyson car and boat vacuum. supposed to be next day delivery. Never arrived. Contacted them, response crap. Maybe good products but there delivery and after sales suck
Absymal Customer Service
I recently purchased a used Dyson vacuum which had 37 months warranty remaining on it.
Before purchasing, I called Dyson and asked whether the warranty would be transferable - I was told that it could be, but that I'd need the original receipt. After explaining that I wasn't able to get the original receipt, the advisor told me that they could still transfer the warranty, but that I'd need to call up to action it.
Great - or so I thought...
I went ahead with the purchase that evening, and the following day, I called Dyson to transfer the warranty. The gentleman on the phone was very obstructive, and wouldn't accept that I had been told it could be done. Eventually, after much back and forth, he relented and said he could sort it and that I should leave it with him to be be done.
Great - or so I thought..
The following day I received an email from Dyson telling me they will not transfer the warranty without the original receipt... I replied back with the dates and times of the calls I'd made, and explaining what I had been advised.
They replied back with the same email telling me that I need to provide the original receipt.
I responded with a formal complaint (to which I have had no reply), and a separate Subject Access Request email, requesting the call logs and notes from my calls. Again I've had no reply.
Having been a Dyson customer for many years, I've dealt with their customer service team several times, and they were always fantastic - up until about the time of the pandemic, when something seemed to change and they became noticeably lacking in care.
This is the first time I've purchased a used machine, it was only intended as a temporary measure, and I was planning to buy a new Dyson in 6 months or so. However, this experience has convinced me to switch brands.
My next brand new vacuum will be a Shark.
If i could give no stars i would
if i could give no stars i would. our very expensive fan broke down, and you cannot get it fixed anywhere apart from Dyson so after contacting them it was arranged for our fan to be picked up on 07/07/26 for £99 paid in advance then it would be repaired and retuned. but after cancelling a Doctors appointment and waiting in all day (they don't even give you a time frame)it got to 16.30 and decided to give them a call they said they got let down by a courier and wasn't being picked up WHY COULD THEY NOT LET US KNOW. Now we would have to book another date and got offered 2weeks later bearing in mind this is in a heatwave and THEY let US down. so we said we would contact customer servicers on that same day via email and to this day 15/07/26 have heard nothing . Nothing short of shocking customer service, and from this day we will never ever buy a DYSON PRODUCT AGAIN. and recommend anybody else thinking of a Dyson product to think again there are several other company's out there offering better products and far cheaper.
Next day delivery turned into a week of…
Next day delivery turned into a week of excuses
I ordered directly from Dyson because the product was advertised with free next day delivery. Five days later, the parcel had still not even been collected by the courier.
I spent hours speaking to customer service, but nobody could provide a dispatch date, delivery date or a clear explanation. An adviser named Indra repeatedly replied like an automated system, saying only “please wait” and “24–48 hours”, even after those timeframes had already passed.
Dyson confirmed the machine was in stock, yet still could not explain why it had not been handed to the courier. Their website continued advertising next day delivery while existing orders were not being dispatched.
This was one of the worst delivery and customer service experiences I have had.
Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. I ordered spare parts on 20th June. Phoned to chase on the 25th and used the chat to cancel the order on 5th July. I have not been refunded for the order, and was told that if I do a chargeback through my credit card it will affect my credit score! Absolutely disgraceful. James Dyson should be hanging his head in shame about the depths to which this company has sunk. I won't be buying Dyson again for anything.
Repair carousel - obstructive or just incompetent?
What would you expect from a brand owned by someone who campaigned for Brexit, and having achieved the outcome - decamped to Singapore for a better life.
Sums up my experience with getting a floor fan repaired. Its been 3 weeks of being passed around Customer Service agents and e-mail threads who keep re-starting process from Step 1 (please provide proof of purchase, please confirm address, do you have serial number). Arranged a pick-up for repair on 09 July, then cancelled and rescheduled to 11 July, on 11 July no-show and no history of the booking being made. Now its 14 July ... and I have a new collection slot on 28th .... which is +1 month (!!!!!) after I called to have the machine repaired.
Absolutely horiffic service from what is positioned as a premium brand. Uninterested and script reading robots in Customer Care team who cannot escalate, transfer the call and just pressure you to drop off the call (they cannot terminate the call unless you hang up).
Despicable - but what do you expect from a Company led by someone fled the UK after campaigning of benefits of Brexit.
Such appalling customer service !
Such appalling customer service !! I would never recommend buying or having to communicate with Dyson . Be warned !!

Will never buy Dyson ever again
Having owned the older air wrap I got yhe new version. Unfortunately some idiot has decided that the best improvement to this machine - make the cable a foot shorter than the old model (which was already a foot shorter than my ordinary hair dryer), had to use it with an extension cable since purchasing. Unfortunately I recently quickly used it plugged just into the wall and when I went to reach up to curl the top of my head (I’m 5ft tall) I pulled it upwards and the top pin in the plug has snapped out of the flimsy huge ridiculous plug. Dyson say it’s my fault and want £100 to repair it!!! Should have gone with my initial instinct when replacing my old model and purchased a cheap non brand air wrap, I only use 1 attachment on my fine hair, complete waste if £540!!!! Won’t touch Dyson ever again, new hoover will be different brand and £25 fan to do the same job as the Dyson fan (also a waste of money)
Abysmal customer service
Ordered a vacuum for next day delivery - more than a week later, it still hadn't been delivered. Three calls to Dyson said that it was on its way but it never was. No reasons given. Every time I contacted them I received the same message. In the end I cancelled the order only to be told that it would take 2 weeks for them to refund the money. When I wanted to submit a written complaint, I was informed that Dyson has no method of submitting written complaints and that the phone call was raised as complaint by them. I said I wanted to put it in writing so I have a record of it but this is not possible.
My suggestion is not to buy from Dyson directly - their customer service is abysmal, they are trained to just repeat the same phrases till you get sick of hearing them and go away. Such a method of business practice disrespects the consumer right to fair purchase using this as a technicality, effectively creating a loophole through which they get away with unsatisfactory conduct.
Ordered a Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ HP00…
Ordered a Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ HP00 Purifying fan heater on Wednesday 8th July, £450 for next day delivery. The same day the email said it’s with the courier DPD. I got an update from DPD that they have received the order details but not the order. It did not come on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday or the Monday…..no tracking updates. I contacted the customer service team to cancel the order, it’s clearly lost / stolen or does not exist. They told me I can’t cancel, that I have to wait for it to be delivered, to refuse the delivery. I’m asking them how long must I wait, they can’t answer. They said they have contacted dpd to ask them to return it, and once they have it they will refund me. That’s fine but dpd don’t have it. I’m stuck with no product and no refund. Unbelievable. The products are great, but I will never use them again.
Ordered Saturday arrived Monday perfect air conditioner
Ordered a hot cold and purifier fan on Saturday evening arrived Monday morning! Due to medical problems the curent heatwave is unbearable for me to cope with. I had a problem with our tall Dyson tower fans because there was no cold air conditioner they were very useful for the many years we had them but each summer the heat is getting worse making my medical condition more serious, they helped but I needed to be in a colder room. This model has been sold out since the heatwave started and was very greatful when it was available.
It's absolutely amazing we trust Dyson products and this unit is perfect for my safety and a lovely cold room. We will use in the winter as it has a heat setting too.
Fantastic product very happy 😊
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTER…
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTER CARE!
Booked in a repair for our fan within warranty. Told the closest date was 3 weeks out. Waited home all day on 9th July, got an email at 2pm to say they had to reschedule to 11th July. Waited home all day, no one turned up.
The call centre cannot help and lie and promise that someone is coming out to collect it.
We then tried to escalate it and they told us they can’t collect it until 28th July.
The company is an absolute scam. In the middle of a heatwave and a newborn baby we have been left struggling and wasted so much time speaking to uneducated call centre staff.
One lady told my husband to walk to Oxford Street with the large fan as they will give him a replacement. We spoke to someone at Oxford street and they said that’s not an option. Absolute chaos!!
JUST AVOID!!
