AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I am a health professional and regularly hire cars for long-distance assignments. In 14 years, I have NEVER had an issue like this.
I handed the car back at 20:08 and one staff member was incredibly rude and did not want to inspect the car with me (BIG MISTAKE).
The next day, I received a bill for £415 for what looks like a transfer mark. When I tried to explain that I had not seen this damage, their explanation was that perhaps I had backed into a bush. Nonetheless, whatever the mark was, it looked like something that could have been removed with a clean.
When I asked to come and see the vehicle myself, they refused.
Absolute SCAMMERS. Pay the extra and go with reputable companies such as ENTERPRISE, whose sole goal does not appear to be profiting from customers through questionable damage reports.
Harry was awesome
Thanks Connor!
We had a great experience with Drivalia. Connor at the Glasgow Airport was a great help and he took great care of us.

Do not use this company
Do not use this company. They are con men. I was due to pick a car up from Glasgow Airport and was delayed by 45 mins in Amsterdam and called to let know this. They said they no problem and since I called there would be no problem and to just call to let them know when I arrived which I did. I was picked up and took to their office and was told that the car I had pre booked was away but I could upgrade for a small fee. The small fee turned out to be £26 a dy for 10 days which was £260. The original price of my booking was £97. I told them that I wasn’t paying that and all of a sudden he managed to get it down to £22 a day which I still refused to pay. I then asked for a refund and was told that because it was done through trip.com I would have to go through them and he would tell them I never took the car. I have now been told from Trip.com that I never showed for the booking and that I will not be getting a refund, so he lied to me also. Don’t be fooled by the cheap starting prices as this is just to get you through the door. Stick to a reputable car hire company.

Drivalia at Glasgow Airport
Booked Drivalia through Booking.com for a pick up at Glasgow Airport.
Easy to book and excellent price. On line pre register was ok but a bit cumbersome using my phone, had to switch to a laptop in the end but it did make check in smoother.
It’s an off airport site at Glasgow and the pick up and subsequent drop off was easy and efficient. Our driver for both legs Connor was a real pleasure.
The check in process was smooth but the £1500 deposit was a bit of a shocker - especially as they take over 1 month to give it back from car return. The excuses given are laughable. You can choose their additional insurance but that would have worked out at nearly 4 times the rental cost.
I would have given 5 stars if this had been more customer focused with a quicker return of deposit.
Car was great, a 26 plate with no issues.
I would use them again.

Would not recommend this company
Would not recommend this company and will be letting our travel agent know of our dissatisfaction.
Very poor customer service. On arrival at the depot we were forced to take an higher insurance policy when they could not process our VISA card for the bond. We did not need this extra insurance as we were already well covered by our travel insurance policy. They said that it was our bank’s problem but wouldn’t let us use their phone to contact our bank - against company policy they said. Turns out it was not a bank issue but their issue in not being able to process a credit card with a chip and a pin. They were aware that this would happen and said it happens all the time - a devious way to make money out of weary travellers from the other side of the world. No problem using the credit card for fuel as soon as we left the depot. Made to sign a document that he said was about the insurance. He never mentioned anything else being on the policy or that we could only do 200 miles a day. As we left the depot he did say make sure you return with tank quarter full. We have always dealt with rental car companies that start and finish with a full tank.
Both the attendants did not believe that there was an issue with the car. It kept beeping and a message about parking on the screen. They said it was our problem - not wearing seat belt, door not shut properly. Had to return 3 times to get it sorted. Finally an attendant came out and drove the car and got the same problem. Eventually found that it was caused by debris on a parking sensor. No apology given - got the impression they thought we were idiots.
On returning the car we were told there was an extra charge as we had exceeded the daily mileage. This should have been explained when we picked up the car and not for us to be shown it in the fine print on the document signed under duress. We could not use our VISA card to pay this extra (they said there would be the same issue as on arrival with the card not being able to be processed) and we did not have any Pounds Stirling left on the WISE card that we had had to use for the insurance payment. They were however able to access this card and got their money by taking it from the other currencies that we had loaded onto the card.
Improvements needed - customer service, accepting credit cards, clear explanation of the contract.

Scammers -DO NOT USE
Scammers,
My case was escalated to the regional manager. It took this gentleman only 28 days to get back to me.
Pathetic service. These people are liars. I have proof that the damage was on the vehicle when I took the handover. The same damage exists in both the collection and drop off report but still they dont want to accept and have charged me £1170.
Seriously do not use this company. Rather pay a bit more and go with someone reputable.
Drivalia, do not reply to this review asking me to contact customer services.
I have done it and they have clearly proven that either they are all blind or liars

Very poor experience!
Very poor experience!
Stick with the big boys and not this lot
Bought their “excess insurance” when setup hire but at point of collecting vehicle scaremongered and pressurised into buying more insurance as told
If i write car off the excess i get back but the rest of vehicle is still my responsibilty so £168
Forced to hand over
The car had a report given with false images
Downloading images of wheels shows metadata of images from July 2025 over a year old claiming to be 5mm so this is very suspect. If i did not take extra cover feel they would exploit this!
And they are very close to legal limit now! So not 5mm at all!!
Car is black and photographed when wet to make scratches harder to show again would imagine they would sting you
Car collected with 410 range and report said 100% fuel
Dropped off car £63 lighter and 415 miles on range and report given to me at 99% full
This seems false
Time will tell if this lot try claiming something off my card but their report right now suggests nothing to pay
Pre registration was a waste of time when got the kiosk at Airport made to write out a form that provided no value or expedite my experience staff bounced me about between them and took me 25 mins to get the car
No opportunity to look over car before there inadequate and incorrect report emailed to you either so very open to abuse
My flight from London only took 50 mins
Avoid avoid avoid!
I very much imagine staff are on bonus schemes to sell there damage packages and exploit those who dont

Car Hire Insurance.Should have done my…
Car Hire Insurance.Should have done my homework in advance, but did not have a Car Reg in advance ,to furnish quote, and, was under pressure to meet Ferry deadline to Mull.Great initial quote for car hire for week from Glasgow having intention to then use GetShorty(short term Insurance specialist)to get Insurane. Was told this was not possible, and could only use their providers.Falsehood.Should have realised this,as 4 people in front of me,were also "mugged in plain sight",getting ever increasing Insurance quotes, especially,as in my case,if you did not have a Credit Card.Result?350 quid for 1 week Insurance...on getting home armed with Reg.No checked with GoShorty...48 quid.Again,my fault for not hanging out, but, with timing deadlines, and long queues, easier to bite the bullet. This was a production line of Car Insurance muggings..try to get a Reg No in advance to save yourself a fortune,or go elsewhere.Oh..and don't go off the mainland, say to an Island...additional 72 quid!!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
