Shocking aftermarket service and…

Shocking aftermarket service and quality of material.
Having purchased a corner sofa from DFS Lincoln with recliners we had had the sofa just over six months when we lodged a complaint to DFS about the wear of the material on one of the recliners and sagging of the cushioning. They initially agreed that the material was not wearing as expected and came out to replace the material cover of one of the recliners and replace the padding. The repair was undertaken but It was evident that the colour of the new material was distinctly lighter than the rest of the sofa and the padding quickly sagged. We raised this issue with DFS immediately - and they sent out numerous people to view the sofa who agreed it was not satisfactory. However on the final visit by the manager she disagreed to agree and would only offer a padding repair but was not prepared to replace the material and said the colour match was down to wear and tear of the new sofa even though the material was only two weeks old after the repair. We was given other options to change the sofa but at a cost. Sorry once bitten, twice shy - why would I want to pay more money to a company I’ve now lost complete trust in. I involved the Ombudsman but they have failed to understand that I’m complaining about the repair but instead refer back to the original sofa as they too have quoted wear and tear is reasonable after six months plus. This is not possible as the repair was only two weeks old.
Everyone who I invite into the house to see the sofa feels the same as me and they are shocked by what they can see and how DFS are treating us as a customer. I’ve explained to DFS that it is a short term gain for them for a long time loss as I will keep taking every opportunity to make people aware of the quality of their sofa I’ve bought and their aftermarket service.
All I will say to anyone purchasing a sofa is too think twice and ask DFS how the material is expected to wear, what it should look like in six months time, ask them to put it into writing before you buy and ask them how they would treat a complaint in the future if you experience what I’ve been through. I’m very happy to let people come and view my sofa if you wish to make your own judgement rather than take for granted what the salesmen tell you in the shop. Since I’ve populated my concerns on a Facebook I’ve been sent many similar horror stories.
