Awful customer service and delivery service from DFS. FORMAL COMPLAINT MADE!
We ordered the matching arm chair to our sofa.
FIRST ATTEMPT OF DELIVERY AFTER 8 WEEKS:
The delivery was entirely unacceptable. The delivery team unwrapped the chair on the back of the van whilst it was raining. The chair, which is cream fabric, was carried into my property without any protective covering, and the delivery staff handled the exposed fabric with dirty hands. They were also wearing wet, muddy boots, which transferred mud directly onto the cream fabric, leaving the chair heavily soiled.
Rather than acknowledging the damage, the delivery staff attempted to clean the chair using a damp cloth, which simply rubbed the dirt further into the fabric. This should never have happened.
The delivery team then attempted to fit the chair’s feet. One of the delivery men advised that they did not have the correct drill attachment and was unable to fit them correctly. I was informed that the feet required alignment by the DFS workshop before the chair could be delivered correctly.
Following this failed delivery, I waited several weeks for an update. During this time, I sent numerous emails and made several telephone calls to DFS customer service team, yet I received very little communication. I consider this to be extremely poor customer service.
SECOND DELIVERY BY DFS:
Upon arrival, the delivery team themselves commented that the chair had been poorly wrapped and packaged by DFS. Once the packaging was removed, I observed that the chair was in an even worse condition than before. There was black mud around the bottom of the chair, despite this supposedly being a brand-new piece of furniture for which I am paying a significant amount of money. Also baring in mind this is CREAM IN COLOUR. The handling of our furniture was shocking.
The delivery team also attempted to fit the feet but were unable to do so. They identified that the screws had been damaged during the previous delivery attempt when the original delivery team had unsuccessfully tried to fit them.
It is clear that no meaningful repair or workshop work had been carried out since the first failed delivery by DFS despite them advising work had been completed. In fact, the chair had been returned to me in a worse condition than before. It remains faulty, damaged, dirty and unfit for delivery.
As a result, I have completely lost confidence in both this product and the service I have received. ORDER CANCELLED by myself at this point.
Absolutely nothing from DFS to resolve the issues we have experienced. Cannot even pick the phone up to have a telephone discussion with us about our order and the issues we have experienced. I real disappointment.
