I love Dermstore in general, however, I was disappointed to see that a lot of the product reviews came from a third party site, and that site is one that gives free products in exchange for reviews. W... See more

Dermstore launched in 1999 with the vision of creating a trusted dermatologist-backed online beauty store. Founded by a board-certified dermatologist, the company became a safe haven where customers could purchase with confidence. We have since grown to offer a wide range of skin care and cosmetic brands. Our collection includes: professional-strength formulas (otherwise only available at a doctor's office), exclusive spa care lines, salon-grade brands, as well as hard-to-find niche and specialty brands from around the world. In 2013, Dermstore became a wholly owned subsidiary of Target Corporation. We are headquartered in Southern California with a Spa location in Hermosa Beach.

Incredibly frustrating and hassling experience over application of discount code - right after I hit the checkout button a screen came up showing a product that would not accept a discount code was indeed discounted with a code from the site (I had searched for this before and did not see it). My request was that they simply apply the discount code to that one item in the order or issue a retroactive refund in the amount of the discount - this seems pretty typical. Customer service told me that they could not change the items in the cart but I could return once I receive it. On top of that I used the option to cancelled the order on the site immediately and received a confirmation that the order was successfully cancelled but it wasn't and the customer service said it did not as it had already gone to dispatch provided me with a refund label for when I eventually receive the order.

I placed my order on 3/26. Never received tried to email Dermstore. Contacted Veho and they said they never received package. It is now seven weeks later and still no ORIBE products.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dermastore was very disappointing. An unauthorized transaction was processed without being flagged by their security system, which raises serious concerns about customer protection and fraud prevention. I expected much better safeguards from a company handling sensitive payment information. I hope they improve their security measures so this doesn’t happen to other customers.

Dermstore used to have free shipping. Also they stopped notifying in advance about orders so you could hold, skip, or change the date. I now cancel subscriptions because you will end up with too much product because they don't email reminders any more. Terrible

Original: I was supposed to get "free 2-day shipping" because my order was over $500. It was a promotion that the dermstore gave to me when I placed my order, but then, I got super slow shipping where the delivery date was 7 days.
Edited Addition: I learned that the dermstore is not like most websites where a promotion in your cart is not automatically implemented and that you have to change your shipping to the promotion manually. Thus, I rescind my opinion that the Dermstore performs bait-and-switch promotions, but I still have a highly negative impression of their customer service and relations. It took an hour for a chat agent with a manager helping to not come to a resolution/find out the issue I experienced. A lot of time was wasted re-explaining the issue to them. Then Kayleigh, the Customer Care Executive, did their due diligence and followed up via email, informing me of my error, which is great. However, Kayleigh used language that showed that they were only doing their due diligence and damage control, not truly caring about my overall expression. " I do apologise if this was not something you were aware of prior to placing your order." from them, instead of "I apologize that this was not apparent/that our website did not make this apparent". They apologized on my end, which is an insincere non-apology. I would rather not have an apology at all than for someone to express regret for what happened on their end. In fact, I do believe at the stage of Kayleigh informing me of my error, they did not need to apologize at all; but the information was soured by the nonapology. They also mentioned they were helping me at "the highest level of escalation", when I did not even ask to escalate beyond them. I overall have the impression that Kayleigh and senior leadership view me as a nuisance who they had to perform public damage control for, rather than a first-time customer (my first purchase was $501) who had a mishap with their nonintuitive website and who was just fussing over nothing...even though I spent over half a grand on my first order. I was going to start using the Dermstore for my skin care needs and switch from Amazon Subscribe & Save, but I can't after my customer care experience. I admit that the shipping issue was because of my own ignorance, but there was zero customer care, only performative service.

I had hard time picking shade of foundation. Chatted with agent that was slow and not helpful. I understand this is difficult to do.

Chat wasn’t able to help me get my credit rewards for my order I just placed. Very disappointing for me!! In future is there a live person I might talk with to figure this out?
Thanks for your help .

I like the brands Dermstore offers and their delivery is reliable. I would like a reminder when auto delivery will ship just in case I need to change the frequency.

I ordered a product and signed up for the subscription to receive it every 60 days. The first item was correct. The second one they sent was not what I ordered. I went through the return process which was very painful. They told me I would get a $138 credit and never gave it to me. Do not use this website for ordering anything.

I am a loyal customer of Dermstore because of the diversity of high end brands, discounts, and points. I periodically make several purchases in a month. However, the reason why I give 4 stars is because in a couple of orders the "gift" item was not included. It might be due to the excess number of orders and the item being out of stock. However, I consider that in this kind of situation, if the gift item is not available, another one should be included instead.
Finally, Dermstore works with Rakuten. Rakuten is a platform that assigns cash back to purchases made at different stores. Most of the time Rakuten assigns the cash back minutes after the order has been processed. However, in my last purchase when the advertised cash back was 20%, Rakuten did not assign the cash back. Even though the order was already delivered, Rakuten indicates that Dermstore is failing in confirming the order.

I paid $533.52 for my order on the 5th of May. I placed this order on April 25 and the money was taken on May 5. Nothing has been done concerning my order.
