Refund - shambles!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience.

I ordered three items. One item was cancelled before dispatch, which I was refunded for. I received the other two dresses and returned both of them, following the return instructions exactly by sending them in two separate parcels.

I have only been refunded for one of the returned dresses. A customer service adviser confirmed that they had received the second return and told me the refund was being processed and would be in my account by 16 July. Unfortunately, that refund has still not been received.

I've tried contacting customer services through live chat, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, but I haven't been able to get this resolved. After explaining that I'm still waiting for the refund for the returned dress, I either receive an automated message saying they're busy with no further response, or I'm incorrectly told I've already been refunded for both dresses. It appears the refund for the item that was cancelled before dispatch is being confused with the missing refund for my returned dress.

I'm still waiting for this issue to be investigated and the outstanding refund to be processed. I hope someone from Debenhams will finally resolve this.

I thought I was ordering a dress from Roman…

I thought I was ordering a dress from Roman, which is something I do quite a lot, but directly with them - not thru Debenhams. £22 in the sale. I always pay in full by PayPal. Imagine my surprise therefore when the bill had increased by £15 !! I tried to cancel it, but only succeeded in producing another invoice for £22. £60 !! I am in my eighties and a pensioner so look at all expenses, so imagine how cross I was when it was pointed out that I should have ticked a box to say no to a subscsription !!! Sounds like one of those scams to me. I have always loved shopping at Debenhams since I left school all those years ago.
but why make it so unhelpful to shop with them anymore. First they closed all the stores one by one and now try to trick you into buying something you don't want. I would be grateful if someone would cancel this and give me my money back. !!!

Dresses.…

Still waiting for items to be delivered.
Delivery should have been by 16th July.
Would not order again from Debenham.
If you don't have items do not advertise.

Absolutely incompetent

I don’t often leave reviews but this was so awful I feel I have to. I placed an order for a black sweater on 17/06. It arrived a few days later and it was blue. I thought oh well mistakes happen, contacted Debenhams via email and they confirmed I could return it without paying their usual return fee. I ordered it again 4 days later (before returning my incorrect one) and to my surprise a blue one turned up AGAIN. Contacted them again, advised I would be returning both of them and I would not be ordering a 3rd. Both of my returns reached them on 24/06 but so far it’s now 18/07 and I’ve only had one refund. I also didn’t get any kind of email saying they had received my return and a refund would be on its way. You’re just left to track the returns yourself and check your bank account. I get the impression they’re hoping you won’t notice your refund hasn’t been given so they can get away with it. Now doing a chargeback through my bank and even if Debenhams are giving things away for free I absolutely won’t be going near them with a barge pole.

After waiting 2 weeks for a returns…

After waiting 2 weeks for a returns note after many emails i was finally able to return the wallpaper Debenhams sent out in a different colour to what i ordered!
Returned on 30th June was informed refund should be by 15th July. As of 17th July no refund chased up via emails submitting proof of postage 4 times before my email got escalated. 18th July reply to say sorry for delay & my refund has been actioned & I will receive it 2nd Aug! It will be 6 weeks from date of return before my refund goes into account despite me chasing it & Debenhams escalating it! Definately never again will I shop with them

Dismal delivery service

My ‘express’ delivery time was 5 days from the date of ordering. It didn’t arrive and when I contacted you I was asked to wait for two weeks before getting in touch again.

Sack all customer services

Sack all customer services. All they do is play ping pong with your complaint, its passed on and your told it will take 3days and if your not contacted, email them again. And this goes on and on for weeks untill i contact credit card people.
Then somebody moves themselves
